I had an agreed upon price for a smog check for my father's car, and that price was $69.99. When we…read moregot there, the smog agent quoted us $91, plus the cost of the certificate (at around $8.25). That's $100 for a smog check on a 2015 bmw. I had to explain to the smog agent that I've had business with their smog station before via yelp and I had no problems with the agreed upon price, but the agent kept getting confused and tried to swindle us as customers. I had to show him the yelp conversation three times about who I spoke with and the agreed upon price. Under no circumstances go here. Instead, go down the Northbay smog on la goma? They charge $76 flat for everything and they won't give you a hassle like these people.

I have ALWAYS gone to north bay smog down the street, but for some reason today I decided to go to this location. They went through the entire test before informing me I was missing a 2 inch section of vacuum line on a sensor below my intake. The sensor was not throwing errors before this, and I ran a full 2 way emissions system diagnostic the day before while repairing my vehicle and no sensors were receiving atmospheric pressure that should have been receiving vacuum...ie no lines were missing at that point. I guess the line must have spontaneously fall off in the previous 10 miles of driving? I asked them if I could have or buy 2 in of vacuum line from the bundle on the wall of the shop and plug the line in myself, and was told that not only would they not supply me with vacuum line as a courtesy, I would have to PAY THEM to install it. It is literally 2 inches of line, costing 10 cents from any auto parts store, and can be installed in less time than it took them to try and fleece me. To put icing on the cake, it would be an additional $50 for them to retest the car after the $100 I had already paid. I went home, cut two inches of vacuum line, plugged it in and had the car fixed in less than 2 minutes. Then I went down to Northbay smog (where I should have done to begin with) and got a test for $70. The owner informed me that miller smog marked that I had "tampered" with my emissions system on the CARB database, instead of saying the line was "missing". This caused a flag on my vehicle. The owner of north bay smog was also aghast at the way I was treated at miller smog, he says he sees missing vacuum lines on older cars daily and simply informs customers and repairs them FOR FREE before initiating the smog test so that it does not have to be done twice. This is how business should be done. AVOID this business, go to north bay smog. They are a much better establishment.

You do have to down load a coupon but I'll attach it to my review so you can just show them and get the discounted rate! I called the facility around 4pm and asked if they could run a smog check on my Toyota Prius that day and they said yes! I arrive at around 4:40 and they saw me immediately with no wait. They ran a few tests which took about 15 mins. The total price was $40+$8 card fee so just under $50 which is a decent deal. I've been to other locations San Francisco as well and this is pretty much the lowest price you can find. The guy running the test was polite and efficient. He did make me wait out in the cold though when I could have just sat in my car and not affected his testing but whatever. Also didn't wear a mask the entire time which seems to be consistent with other people's reviews about not being "COVID safe." Overall, I had a pretty easy in and out experience which was reasonably priced.

No coupons for older cars because the tech gets a full work out smogging these older vehicles. The young man who did the work was honest, upfront and communicated everything going on and why. I will see you guys next year!! Thanks so much
