Cannot recommend Northbay smog highly enough, I have gone here for years with vehicles that I buy and the owner has treated me with respect and courtesy consistently. He will go out of his way to ensure equipment is operable, and advise you on how to fix anything that needs addressing. I trust them with my vehicle and will continue to give them my business forever. read more

Quick service nice people however difficult to find this place. It's tucked away on a busy side street.

This place is excellent. I hardly ever have to wait and the people are very thorough and honest. I've had many cars smogged here over the years. read more

Have taken my car here for years to get smog checked. Always easy- no hassle and no appointment required. And not a long wait. Except onetime. Great experience. read more

Authorized emission test company it took 20 minutes. They were great. Taking a second car to them now.

My Land Rover wouldn't pass smog due to monitors not clearing. I worked with various garages and Land Rover to fix this over a year long period of time and no one could. Land Rover told me to sell my perfectly working 2013 LR4 for parts and ultimately ghosted me. A friend suggested North Bay Smog. I've been working with Mihran for the last six months on this problem. He's been so patient and genuinely interested in getting this fixed. In the meantime I had to involve The Ref of California to get a registration exemption as I continue to work on this. Getting an exemption was extremely tough for me and the only way they approved it was because Mihran itemized numerous work orders in great detail, which took a lot of time. Now I have another year to fix my car and will continue to work with Mihran to try and fix this problem. I'll always go to North Bay Smog for smog checks as well. read more

Searched and saw their positive reviews. First come first serve means I got there and waited a few minutes. I got in, and 30 minutes later my 1995 Wrangler miraculously passed STAR smog!! Really impressed and thankful. Affordable, efficient, polite, professional! A no-brainer. read more

This is where I've always gone and they do a great job. Highly recommend! They are friendly and fast...

Someone noticed me right away and offered assistance. 15 minutes for a smog certificate and it was $71.

All I needed was a smog check and I found Northbay smog here, along with a coupon for $29.95 smog check. When I arrived I was told that the cost would be $72. Upon inquiry, I was told that the cost would be $72 if I used a credit card and $41, if I pay in cash, and that the $29.95 doesn't include a report (which is the primary-if not only-reason anyone would get a smog check). The work is perfunctory, but was completed in 15 minutes, as promised. But the deceptive pricing warrants a low rating. read more

Got my Acura smog'd here for the first time. They were very patient and willing to help me. I had installed some aftermarket parts to my engine and didn't have the necessary information. They walked me through the steps and accessed the necessary info online for me. A tremendous help. I probably wouldn't have found that anywhere else. Will definitely be going there again. read more

The folks here know there stuff and are super efficient. Not chatty, but they get you in and out with no fuss. If you want an easy process, this is the place. read more

Needed a star station, googled, found them, called, told them I found them online, printed out their online coupon, and read the Yelp reviews, confirmed they were a CA-Authorized star station, asked how much for my 2001 Audi, he told me 40-something, that they could take me anytime this (Tuesday) morning. Rolled up, they saw me, waved, motioned me to drive in, I filled out 2 minutes of paperwork, we agreed on the $41 total fee (debit), he told me he'd be done in 15 min. Walked down the street to Joe's Taco Lounge, got 2 fish tacos and a glass of water, walked back after 15 min, car was done, it passed, and I was out of there. What more could you possibly want? 5 stars, business as it should be. Thanks! Get coupon from their website, call, arrange, go, pay, smile, leave. UPDATE 9/2017: Repeated the non-ordeal this spring with these guys. As above. Consistent. Worthy of your business. read more

I went in at 9:00 on a Saturday when their website said they opened. The two guys who showed up at 9:10 pretty much ignored me (and the shop phone that kept ringing) until 9:30 when I finally asked them if the were able to help me get my car smogged. They told me "the guy" wasn't there and to come back after 10:00 sometime. IF YOU HAVE OTHER THINGS TO DO ON A SATURDAY THEN STAND AROUND A DIRTY GARAGE, GO ELSEWHERE! read more

Ali performed my smog check this Saturday morning, no appointment required. It only took about 12 minutes. The waiting room is pretty shabby but it gets the job done. Ali knows his stuff! Highly recommended. read more

The worst. Incredible arrogance, poor service and extremely dishonest. Damaged the manual 5-speed transmission and had to stop the test midstream to save the automobile. Will report them to BAR. read more

Great service I have come in here twice without and appointment and got taken care of right away. I would come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I arrived with their coupon, which they said they would honor, but it would not include the DMV reporting or a certificate. If you want that, it's another $20. And, the whole transaction has to be in cash. The final price was not egregious, but who wants to encourage such slimy business practices! read more

Showed up w/o an appt and got seen pronto. Took all of maybe 15 minutes and with the coupon under $40 bucks. The tech was pleasant enough, but I had no problems read more

Mihran is awesome, he gave me $20.00 off since it was my first time coming and I had told him about a coupon I found online.

Have had two smog checks by these guys in the last 6 months - fast, friendly, easy, and affordable! Used the coupon both times.

Called late Saturday, past closing time, they would wait for me to get there. I arrived with my old 12 cylinder jaguar. I got the best courteous and old school no nonsense service. They spend their time on my jaguar to do it right, it's not an easy late model car. Quality people, quality service. H. read more

Needed a star smog. Checked yelp for local business. Found North Bay smog right in town. Printed the online coupon offered through the link. Called them for appt, no problem, come any time. Drove in, had to remind them of my coupon. 25 minutes. Got my groceries from Whole Foods, came back, car all done, and for forty bucks I drove within minutes out of there. Very nice people. Straight forward. read more

Showed up this morning and Said ignored me. After passing me up to deal with two customers who both arrived later than me, I left. This was my second attempt at getting a smog check at this location. Both times I was invisible to Said. I'd pay five times more to be treated with respect. read more

Me and my husband both got our cars smogged here. It was quick, easy and took no more than 15. Mihran was really attentive and precise with his job. The price is standard, but well worth it for the reliable service your getting there. THE PLACE TO GO if you need a smog done, no appointments were necessary! read more

I bought a car in Mill Valley - had it checked out and smogged within an hour by the "brother" team on La Goma St. Excellent service, fair pricing, friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. read more

Love this place! Today was the second time I just popped in, and they fit me right in! 25 minutes later...on the road, smog certification already sent to DMV, and I'm a happy customer! They are always friendly as well. I will be a lifetime client! read more

Why are all smog places a rip off? I walk in, with a coupon. Ask how much it will be presenting the coupon, 30$. Of course there are extra charges because the DMV charges them. So 8$ more for that. and about 3$ more for tax. So i say "around 40 right?" Answer "correct." The bill I get is for 65$. Makes no sense. Kind of standard from my experience for Smog places, but I just don't understand why they are all so shady! read more

Mid weekday, I showed up with no appointment, was seen right away, and the test took only about 10-15 minutes. Short enough time that I sat and waited there. The tech turned my car around, so I didn't have to back into traffic, and halted the PG&E work crew outside so I could exit easily. A nice extra touch. I recommend this place highly. read more

This review is actually long overdue. Our family has gone to Northbay Smog multiple times for smog checks. Every time, the customer service has been great, but the most recent time was truly above and beyond. I realized last September as I went to pay my registration fee that I was due for a smog check. Somehow, I just missed it. The larger problem, however, was that I had thrown my back out and couldn't drive my car without significant pain. As we live very close to Northbay Smog, I called them and explained the situation and they actually picked up my car and returned it to me. Obviously, this was not a routine service for them but as a returning customer in a tough situation I was deeply grateful for the extra help they provided. When I walked over to pay my bill, there was another customer there giving the Northbay employee behind the counter some vegetables from her garden, so clearly I am not the first recipient of their excellent customer service. :-) We will be loyal customers for as long as we live in the Bay Area. read more
