This is an awesome place for beer, cider, and wine (I haven't tried the kombucha or cold brewed coffee). The drink offerings are digital and also listed online. Tastes are free. Customer service is really excellent. Ordering is clear and straight forward (order at the bar and grab a seat). The ONLY reason I didn't give five stars is because most of the food items are fried. Don't get me wrong, we just don't eat fried food as a loose rule. The salad, priced at $6, is generously portioned and we order one to split, often. The fries are sooooo delicious! Atmosphere: As soon as you walk into those double doors of the old building you definitely get the vibe is cool. The tables along the wall are all super sleek and kind of rough-looking but they're glossy and beautiful. Tap: If beer drinker you're going to love this place. The tap that they have on hand are pretty good, constantly changing so you going to try a bunch of new things...who doesn't like that? Food: When they first opened they had this really cool deep fried Twinkie and I want to say that even had Oreos. I don't know what they did with that but they should bring that back for sure cuz that was bomb. But I will say I have not been impressed with the food as of lately. I used to go in a few times with some of my co-workers and they love the place they were all blown away by the atmosphere the food the waiters and how chill it was. But I've noticed that they've gone down I'm food. They used to have a really good brisket taco that was delicious. I went in a while ago with one of my friends I never been there we ordered I would say a basic meal. She enjoyed hers I did not enjoy mine. I felt like they had gotten some old dethawed frozen meat and just made a mountain of this meat on my plate if it wasn't very appetizing to look at or eat. Plus my my fries we're super thin and looked like they had been burnt. Needless to say I haven't been back I don't know if I ever will. I had quite possibly the worst root beer float I've ever had, I didn't think that was possible. It had a measly half scoop of ice cream which had already pretty much melted by the time it got to me, so I wouldn't exactly have called it a root beer float. The mug it was in was hearty though and felt good to hold. I just wish the float had matched the mug. :-( read more

We visited Ridgewalkers on a Groupon. To accompany our taster flights, we also had some french fries and a deep fried twinkie. I was apprehensive about getting food since most of the pictures of fried foods look burnt. Ours was a golden brown, not burnt so that was a relief but I also won't be clamoring to come back and try any of their other food options based on these two items. As for the drinks - they have a wide range to pick for the flight that included beer, cider, and kombucha. They also have wine but that was excluded from the tasting flight. Unfortunately I did not like any of the 8 tastings we picked (a mix of their own brews and others from the PNW). We ended up taking home a growler (came with the Groupon) of Bull Run Cider which is also based in Forest Grove. I have tried Bull Run before and knew I liked it so at least that was a positive. The interior has a great lodge feel which was perfect with the recent snowy weather. I don't know that I will be back unless I see something on tap that I really want to try. 2 stars. read more

Ridgewalker has evolved from a place of quality food and service to a subpar restaurant in town. I have consistently ordered their BLAT sandwich. It used to be stacked full of crispy bacon, but the last few times I have gotten it it has had 2 pieces of undercooked bacon. I don't mind paying $10 for a sandwich if it is quality- but when it isn't it is a hard sandwich to swallow. I thought it might have been a bad day the first time it happened so I continued to order it. Unfortunately I have the same result every time since. Their service has also gone done hill. Bummed as it was our go to place for our company lunches. read more

Great location and reasonable prices, though the beer could definitely use some work. I got a flight from a Groupon deal, and sampled four of their house beers. My favorite was the Double IPA which was different than most I've tried; it was nice and malty, though not as hoppy as I thought it would be. The rest of the beers, meh. The best way I can describe it is flavorless, like cold water with hints of malt and hops. I got a growler included in my deal and I ended up going with the Boneyard RPM IPA, which is one of my favorite beers of all time. Customer service was great and our server was very friendly, which definitely makes up for the lackluster beer. I didn't try the food, but it looks barbecue-centric. Lots of seating, though I noticed a lot of bar stools missing and people scrambling to find seating. I heard this place just opened up recently so I will give them another shot the next time I am in Forest Grove. It is a beautiful building and their employees are nice, but I think I'll go with something other than their house beers next time. read more

Excited about trying this newish brewery! The beers were okay- the IPA was our favorite. There was possibly something off with the other three in the flight. The red was very, very cloudy and didn't taste like much. The Cascadian Dark did not have much in the way of hops and the Stout was very odd, had a floral, sweet taste to it. All three of these last beers had a "wet grocery bag" taste. My best guess is that with so many taps- 34!- they probably don't go through the beers fast enough and they were oxidized. Maybe they could cut back on some taps and go through the beers faster? The food was a mixed bag as well. My husband had the burger with blue cheese on it, ordered medium rare. It came out well done with absolutely no pink. The blue cheese was very pungent- maybe a more mellow gorgonzola would be better? The fries were the best part of the meal! I had the Beef Short Rib nachos- tons of meat (probably too much, really) and very little cheese. I loved the cabbage on the nachos and the cilantro crema was very good. The entire thing could have benefited from more salt and more cheese- and maybe less meat. Overall a mediocre experience. Would love to come back and try them again someday- see if anything has changed. read more

Great atmosphere! Very similar to any other brewery you would find in the Portland area, including price. Signage throughout the place is very small. Even the brews on tap menu which was located behind the bar on a digital screen was very small. I ordered a beef taco salad, it was closer to a salad topped with beef brisket and tomatoes but nonetheless it was good and meat portion was large. Salad was topped with "awesome sauce" I asked the bartender what this was and was told similar to a thousand island, after tasting I would disagree. This place was amazing. Their beer was really good, nothing changed my life but their imperial IPA was very malty and different, I liked that. Their amber ale is one of the best amber ales I have had in the PNW. They had a really cool arcade machine that I invested a dollar into while I finished my flight, so that alone is worth an extra star. And if you don't love their beer they had tons of guest taps including Boneyard RPM one my top 10 beers in the world. read more

Went in for dinner last night as a first time customer. Pros: family friendly, outdoor seating, friendly staff, nice interior design, tasty beer. Cons: acoustics inside were horrible, it was way too loud to hold a conversation. Food was "meh" at 11.95 a plate. The menu would benefit from descriptions of menu items. What I ordered and what I received was very different than I thought it would be. Mac salad was bitter and oily & the brisket sandwich arrived on toast with a monster amount of some sort of pickled cabbage slaw, this was not described anywhere on the menu. At 11.95 for a basic green salad with some meat on top was WAY overpriced, $6 would be more appropriate . As a recent Portland transplant to FG, charging Portland prices for significantly less quality is a bummer. The meat was good but I would not come back for the food due to the price/quality. Hopefully then will improve on some things and we will be tempted to go back! read more

My Wife and I stopped one evening recently, the dinning area was maybe half full. We were seated quickly, placed our order withing 10 minutes. 20 minutes later the waiter came by to tell us that our order was honestly in the queue and that it would just be a few more minutes, 20 minutes later (1hour overall time), no food, so my wife and I got up and walked out... starving! Honestly one of the worst experiences I have had here. Bartenders were Not nice at all. We wete still in the process of putting our masks on to sit on at the long table right in front of the door and the bartender had Told us 5 times to put our masks on.... I placed an order online and the wait time was 30 minutes. They were kind enough to call and tell me that it would an hour and not 30 minutes. I said that was fine but for some reason she kept telling me it would be an hour as if to discourage me from ordering and then said "it's really busy in here" at least 3 times. A paying customer is a paying customer. In a small town service like this won't keep you in business. The experience is the same every time but my son wanted this sub par food for his birthday. Server finally took order, answering questions about cider options and food in as few words possible, not a smile to be found. Seemed miserable.
