** Closing Business Alert** I feel like I need to bump up the que for this brewery experience as when we went there this past weekend we were told that the brewery was going to permanently close in a few days. I believe October 31st is that day when that is going to happen so I figured it was time to get a review in and anybody that may have an interest in going by reading my review and has the ability to go they should probably do it in the very near future. We had two different beers here and they were solid. We didn't feel like that this was the best brewery in Forest Grove but if you are doing a brewery tour in town it is indeed worth the stop. The location is cool as it's right downtown and what looks like to be in a historic building so it will be sad that it will become vacant. But we were told that it was landlord issues as the rent that was going to be charged should they continue to stay would have been unreasonable. Well, now onto the beer. The first beer we had was a Japanese Rice Lager known as the Wakizashi Lager. It was good but we have had more memorable ones in the recent past so it wasn't the best we have had by any means . But no complaints with it. It was just our preference with the flavor profile layout. Flavor highlights with it are floral, sweet, crisp and a light rice flavor. It was also a very light bodied beer. The other beer we had was the Jormungandr which was a red ale. This one was good too. Again not as memorable as it could be but nothing to specifically complain about. Flavor features with this are caramel, malty and sweet. The body of the beer is nice and smooth which was nice and pleasant. Sad to see another brewery close but there are a few others to visit in Forest Grove so it isn't deprived completely of craft breweries in town. read more

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Bring the family or large group. 25+ taps of Ridgewalker and local brewery beers and ciders available. Personal favorite is the Helvetia Son of Peach. Food order took 30 minutes but for a Saturday we didn't think that was too long. Pool table, foosball, ping pong, and other games on hand to play. Ordered the vegetarian burger first 3 bites were bun, a little pasty I think the patty as too fat, flatten it a bit and it would be fine. Delicious sweet potato fries. A local favorite! read more

I came here for the first time meeting friends for the baby goat event. It was a beautiful day so lots of people and things got a little chaotic. However I would still say and overall positive experience and will most likely return in the future for the bunny takeover event and just to have a chill hang out with some friends that live in Forest Grove. There is a tiny parking lot on the side of the brewery building, but you can also park on the street or at public parking lot across the street. The inside space has a cozy feel to it with some couches in the corner and big picnic style tables on the sides. Great for groups! You walk up to the bar in the very back to order drinks and food and while they have a large variety of drinks on tap and food selection is burgers, tacos, nachos, chicken tenders, and salads so hopefully something for everyone. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. I got the Boo Burger which had blue cheese and bacon on top, you get to choose sauces for your sides, get the fry sauce trust me! I didn't get a picture of the chicken "tenders" but wowza they were huge! Almost like chicken parm sizes but I'm not complaining. They had a nice outdoor deck too and two tables right in the front. Oddly enough there is a giant pirate ship float parked in the back and another bar area you can get drinks and a hot dog cart. Luckily we came a little early so we were able to get a table but our food did take quite a bit of time to come. Some friends that showed up later waited even longer for their food but I understand it was a super busy night because of the baby goat event. Come check this place out for all your drink, food, and hot dog needs! Cheers! read more

DISCLAIMER: local food expert Ridgewalker is a good brewery and pub. Best for their beer, go grab a drink and you'll be sure to enjoy it. The bar food is good to accompany their great beer. It's classic, and hits the nail on the head. Good spot for a date, time with friends, or a good lunch if hungry. read more

Trendy small town brewery. The wood tables are gorgeous . Burgers were great. I did not care for the tacos or tatchos. Next time I'll try something different. Overall, a cool place to check out. read more

Disgusting. We went there with our family from Texas and Arizona. They treated us horribly and the girl there had a major attitude. We just wanted some food and it took an hour and there was no one else in the restaurant. By the time we got our food we just asked for to go boxes and they still treated us horribly. Terrible service. The food sucked and we were yelled at by the staff who was rude and didn't want to serve us to begin with. read more

Food was good. Service was good. I got habenero garlic hot wings and had a nice smokiness to them and the mac n cheese had lots of flavor (mostly from bacon and chicken, wish the cheese was just a bit more richer but its still great; if the super flavorful chicken wasnt there, maybe the cheese is rich afterall? I just couldnt taste the mac n cheese over chicken..chicken was great though, not complaining about the dish as a whole). Beer was good but far too warm (i tried 3 and drank 2; all too warm). Two parties returned beers while i was there for being too flat, but i think it was really cuz it was too warm; warm beers give the illusion of flatness. Music had alot of like mid 80's pop type music mixed in with a random mid 2000's song; Whitney Houston or similar artists like mary j blige, michael jackson, steve winwood, etc. didnt match the more rustic decor or vibe. Some of the songs were down right depressing and i was going here to escape like any typical outing. The different music playing in the kitchen in background over restaurant music was better (though difficult to have to listen to both). The tables and chairs are beautiful, but very hard, i kept squirming around trying to find comfort. They had 30 beers/ciders/wines available, which is a nice selection, but unfortunately even though i loved their food, the beer being barely cold is a no go for me. read more

Typical PNW hoppy 'craft beer'. Not a huge fan of the put more hops in beer, tends to lead to seriously bitter beer. Food was yawn, there are better places right down the street. If hoppy craft beer and incidental food is your thing go for it read more

A great local food and beverage venue. I ordered a beer but I'm not particularly knowledgeable so had them recommend something from their considerable selection. Their suggestion paired well with my burger and fries. Looking forward to returning for something different next time! read more

The hubby and I decided to go and do some local'ish supporting before COVID shut us down again and this place was recommended to us. As we walked up we noticed a great out-door seating spot COMPLETE with heaters. It was a nice day but we opted to sit inside. They have done a great job of making it Covid compliant so that was great. I didn't realize they actually had a full bar option, so that was a pleasant surprise, whisky it is... They did a fine job of mixing the drinks (old fashioned and a Manhattan) and I do so love when they don't skimp on the cherries! We ordered the avocado fries, as recommended, and were not disappointed. We split the blue cheese burger and it was also worth eating again. On our way out we took advantage of filling some growlers. HELLO, they have kombucha and it was super good, and also a great sour beer. The staff was friendly and inviting and completely followed health guidelines. We will defiantly make this a frequent stop in the future. read more

Wife N and I decided to stay local for dinner, hitting Ridgewalker Brewing for our first time. We live a mile away; you think we'd have been here by now, but with apologies for taking so long to try it out, here we go. First, the place gets pretty packed. There's a long 24-top or so in the middle of the room, with 4-top booths around the perimeter. So odds are, if you're dining there during anything near a peak time, you'll be squeezing in among strangers and sharing a table in the middle of the room, as we wound up doing. The place isn't that big with a main room that can squeeze in perhaps 60 at most. There is additional seating outside, which is nice when the weather is decent, but I can imagine no one will want to sit out there on a rainy and cold January evening. Ordering is done at the counter, and you grab a number to bring to your table while you await your food, not substantially unlike many fast food restaurants--Ordering at a counter and waiting around to find your own seat seems a little informal for what otherwise appears to be a pretty nice place. On to the food. It was pretty decent in all, though the preparation timing was off and resulted in fresh-super-hot-out-of-the-fryer fish, sitting on a bed of cold fries. My blue-cheese burger, likewise, was very tasty, nicely done, but was sitting next to luke-warm fried Brussels sprouts that clearly hit the plate five minutes too soon. It's like there's no sense of timing all the elements so they hit the plate at the same time, and then getting that plate out to the patron. Plate elements were dying back there waiting for other elements. Food: decent, and would easily have been 4* pub fare if not for the timing issues that dropped it to 3*s. Beer: really nice selection for a tiny middle-of-nowhere-town brewpub. They easily had 20 or more brew and wine options, and of the several I tasted while honing my selection, all were excellent examples of their intended style. Great beers! The selection of beers is one of those "live" displays with everything up on screens. The problem: neither my mid-40's eyes nor my wife's could read a single thing on them. I literally was squinting and asking the counter-attendant to read them for me as the type was uselessly small. There may as well not have been any menu at all, for how useless the screens were. If you're going to put up "state of the art" TV menus, get something with a big font that pages through or scrolls so that us old guys can read it! Or even better---just provide a printed tap menu--sometimes the "old way" was actually the best way. Paper is recyclable. Not a fan of squinting at tiny print on blurry TV screens with a stack of people lining up tapping their feet behind me when trying to decide what I want to order. Second visit: several weeks later, we went back at 6:00 on a Friday evening and the place was absolutely packed (remember, there's no host(ess), so seating yourself is like the wild west of table rushes), and we didn't feel like standing around pacing and looking longingly at the other diners and food for 20+ minutes, so we wound up going somewhere else. Definitely the kind of place where "we'll text/page you when your table is ready" would be extremely helpful. 3.5*s. I'd say 4* if they can get a host(ess) and get the seating problems worked out and get their food out while everything on the plate is still hot. Overall, I think it's a great local place, food was really good, and we'll be back. read more

062622- not even 1*! Had the worst food service my mom had experience in a long time. She ordered the Chicken Taco Salad and no taco ships or strips in the dish. My mom takes it back, the cook tells her there are tacos in there. He proceeded to show her in the salad this one chip and it was a size of a thimble also telling her this is normal amount. My mom ask can you do a little better than that, he proceeds to bring back 3 chips. Fyi my mom was a Foods Teacher! (Only super young people running the place) boo! Hi Jeff, That was a typo, it was supposed to say chips. My question is to you, what do you think should be in a taco salad?? This chicken taco salad did not have tortillas, tomatoes, cheese and no salsa, fyi. 7pm Today & the cook did not apologize. My paid good money for a plain chicken & lettuce. This is the first time my mom has ever left a restaurant this upset! read more

Another solid place to eat and drink(!) here in the Forest Grove area. The building is a little rough around the edges but comfortable. Hot dogs are always a favorite of the family. My wish (and it's a whimsical one for sure in the Pacific NW) is that they had a larger dark beer selection and fewer IPAs. Sacrilege to say such things and I will be sure to raise the drawbridge before the IPA-loving hordes approach! :) In all seriousness though a great venue with decent outdoor seating (which to be clear isn't super comfortable in this case because they are park tables and benches!) and a good mix of food and beer. read more

Super nice girls working. The Ridgewalker stout we had was delicious, but it stinks they only have like four of their own beers on tap, so I had to get another brewery's beer because the other three weren't types I like. Their beer board is the sweet kind that updates in real time on their website, but the physical TV "board" is super tiny and very difficult to read. We ordered chips and salsa, but the "salsa" was actually pico de gallo, if you would even call it that. I don't think there was even any jalapeño or lime juice, just a pile of old tomato and weak white onion with cilantro. We ordered a side of their (delicious) beer cheese and dumped all the pico into it and THAT was rad for dipping chips. The rest of their menu is pretty basic and not super interesting, but the decor inside is beautiful with lacquered wood everywhere and it definitely compels me to want to return. read more

I came here mid day on a Saturday so it wasn't very busy. There were two people at the bar taking orders and they were both friendly, helping me wade through the many, many options here. I got a couple 5 oz tasters to start with and then graduated to a pint. I don't remember the names exactly but I really enjoyed their sour and one of the pumpkin spiced ciders. I like how spread out the tables were - plenty of options for larger groups. The music was a little loud but that was fine for me since I wasn't trying to have a conversation. I could see this place getting pretty busy at night - they do have outdoor seating for when it's not too cold and you want to have a conversation. I could see myself coming back when in Forest grove again. read more

Food was good. I'm not a fan of having to tip before you have your food and service. It took a long time to get one of our 3 meals and was a wait and not super kid friendly having a toddler with us. Besides that the food was good though. Just didn't enjoy the long wait and it wasn't busy, also kind of annoying to tip before you have your experience, definitely wouldn't have tipped as much. read more

Love the outdoor seating so we can bring the dogs. Good Beer, and good fries. Staff is friendly and they do fun games here and there.

An awesome, pretty hipster pub in Forest Grove. They have a good selection of beer on tap as well as a few wines and kombucha. Their food is the ultimate pub food that actually tastes good. Tried their pulled pork burger, jerk wings, fries, and cobbler. They were all delicious although for fries, I prefer either the sweet potato fries or curly Cajun fries for their deliciousness and crispness. Their normal fries were too salty for my preference. Definitely stop by if you're in the area for good beer. The staff are all incredibly attentive and friendly! read more

Disappointed - my friend and I heard that the Mac and cheese was amazing - it wasn't ! It was runny and flavorless. It was supposed to come with chicken and bacon - there was about 5 half bites of chicken and no bacon. I would be good with the lack of meat however the runny consistency and zero flavor was a disappointment! Brought home to our husbands who will eat just about anything - NOPE! In the the garbage it went. The pumpkin beer was amazing as were the avocado fries I recommend the ranch - for this they get 3 stars. read more

Loved the large wood slab seating surprisingly comfortable. All the wood gives the large converted church a warm cozy feel. The many windows allow lots of light even on a cloudy rainy day. Had the burger with lots of thin cut sweet potato fries, my favorite. I also had the stout which was very respectable and not as thick as some stouts. Still flavorful. Order food and drink at the front, I liked that touch. read more

A brewery in walking distance from your sister's house earns at least one star in my book...positive start. This place literally has everything - wine, kombucha, local brews including their own, cider and mead! Booths and picnic tables have been cut out of a tree provide a rustic feel. They have couches and outside seating too. Able to accommodate large groups. Having a huge selection of board games will ensure to have all find their competitive challenge. Hungry? Looking for some good food that is not greasy bar bites... this place had apps, salads, burgers, sandwiches, classics (tacos, chicken strips, wings), stuff for the kiddies and dessert. We had their mac and cheese bites made with smoked gouda. It was to die for! Staff is great and they are open daily at 11am. Clean and inviting. We had a nice time and the food was really good. Very low key atmosphere. The only criticism was ordering a beer flight and not having a itemize beer layout of what we had. We have never eaten there before and eating out of a to go box while sitting down in the restaurant was different but probably a COVID protocol thing. Overall excellent experience and we will be back. read more

This used to be a favorite restaurant of ours, but no longer. They used to have daily specials, self-seating, and self-ordering. The service was fast and friendly and the food really good. You now have to wait to be seated (ok), have someone take your order (the service is generally slow, they don't check on you to see if you need drink refills, etc and you need to ask for the check), there are no longer daily specials (which we always looked forward to), and the food quality has gone down. All of this while straining to listen to the overhead music, which is drowned out by the heavy metal blaring from the kitchen. Today''s experience convinced us not to return. There were few customers. It wasn't clear if you were supposed to seat yourself, the order took more than 20 minutes (with no explanation; although, my husband's beer was comped) there were no staff to be seen, except for the occasional appearance by the waiter, the request for mustard was ignored and, of course, we had to look for the waiter to get the bill. I'm disappointed. I really liked Ridgewalker. read more

I ate here in December and had an awesome hamburger. My family was happy with their meals as well. I ordered to go recently and was extremely disappointed. I've eaten here many times and find that there isn't consistency from one time to another. Buns not the same. Buns grilled when eating in house, not for takeout. From what I can tell the busier they are the better the food. Not sure what causes the big differences. read more

Their food isn't bad it's just disappointing that they made poor decisions on their menu selections. Are used to absolutely love their hot dog. However, they took it off the menu and now it's just a menu like everyone else. Yes their beer is good but I want something more during the day for lunch. Anybody can make a burger but the poor decisions to pull things off the menu because of Covid was just asinine.
