I have a very difficult foot to fit and after they tried many different options, they suggested something I'd never considered -- a mens xxwide size -- and they ordered it without my having to pay upfront. It worked really, really well for my foot and they were very diligent about the order, as well as patient when I couldn't get in for longer than expected to pick it up. As a previous customer who was very happy with the services provided by the RRC, yesterday was really disappointing. I arrived at the store 20 minutes before closing to purchase a pair of On running shoes. I knew the exact model, size (based on previous fittings at the store) and even called to ensure they had the pair in stock. All good. However, when approached by the store employee in a rather put off way, she stated that they were no longer doing shoe fittings for the day and I had to make an appointment. Keep in mind, there were at least 3 employees in the store and ZERO customers, just myself. I'd like to thank the Athletic Shoe Factory in New Canaan for helping me purchase the same exact pair of shoes. They were friendly, knowledgeable and made thoughtful recommendations. I was in and out in 10-15 minutes! Well done and you now have a new client. RRC needs to do better. read more

Really great! Staff was helpful and highly knowledgable. The best feature of the store is their ability to fit a shoe to your foot with their sensors. The three pairs they had me try were far better than my current running shoes and the insoles that came with them made them even better. I asked a lot of difficult questions and their answers were extremely clear and helpful. And, my first run in them were amazing! Will be coming back! read more

Absolutely love this place!! Everyone is so knowledge and friendly and is willing to spend so much time with you to help with what you need. Spent almost an hour in the store working with someone who helped fit me for a new pair of shoes. Got to do their 3D analysis of my gait and run on the treadmill in multiple pairs. They took everything into consideration and I walked away with a pair of new running shoes that I loved and were perfect for me. More recently, I went to go buy KT tape and they had a wide variety of colors which I appreciated. They have everything runners would dream about. Got some nuun for my brother and then some run gum to try it. I will be back once I need another pair of sneakers!! read more

As I said on Facebook - I try and buy local whenever I can because I think it is important to support local businesses. I checked out the RRC online and the reviews were great so I thought I would give them a try. I was (still am b/c of this mess) in the market for a new pair of trail shoes for running. My previous three pairs have been the Montrail Mountain Masochist, and I love them! Anyway, I went to RRC with my old ones in hand and dealt with one of the owners. She asked all the right questions about my running and what type of trails I am on (I run on very rugged trails in CT). She pointed me in the direction of the Saucony Peregrine 4. Said it was a great shoe, people at the store love it, and would be what I need. What a colossal bust! The P4 is nothing but a glorified road shoe with meaty treads. The rock plate they claim it has is a cheap piece of carbon fiber that does nothing to shield your feet. I feel EVERY rock I land on. Lateral stability is just about zero. In fact, I have never almost fallen and/or twisted an ankle more than in these shoes. No rock plate, non-existent lateral stability, and cheap construction all add up to a lousy shoe. This is a classic example of a company that is false advertising and a dealer looking to move product. Even worse - one of the owners found my Facebook profile and realized we have a common friend. She used to date him and he is my best friend from college. One Sunday I get a call from my old roommate because apparently (Deb) called him complaining about my Facebook review, and basically asked him if he would call me and ask me to remove the review. What a JOKE! Guess the truth hurts. My closing comment is this: is this the type of company you want to do business with? I will be bringing my shoes back tomorrow for a full refund and never returning! read more

I can't say enough about the Ridgefield Running Company! These guys are excellent! The staff is dedicated to running and making sure that your running experience is enjoyable and safe. I came here because of calf pain that I've been developing after a few months of stepping up my running game. They recorded me running on a treadmill and did a full analysis of my run in a variety of shoes. The sales process was an amazing learning experience which helped to demystify the world of running shoes! You are allowed to test out the shoes you're trying on a treadmill or even wear them outside. The staff members are extremely patient and knowledgeable about shoes, training, pretty much everything.
