Every person in the store knows their product and understands the needs of their customer. The staff led by Jason are a pleasure to be around. Jason is a lifelong NY Jets fan and for this, he can be forgiven and shown sympathy! He knows all his sports and i love teasing him about the Jets! the store carries the best and most current major brands. i'm a big buyer of ASICS, just bought my first two pairs of Hoka's that feel very comfortable. The store carries nice apparel as well. i've leaned on and taken Jason's advice on selection and styles on many occasions. He is a class act! Bob thoroughly examined and fitted me with the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Went in to buy sneakers for my son. The staff was so helpful. Bob patiently helped a new associate learn the ropes and they both put my little guy at ease. They showed him how to wear his shoes properly (ie not crush the backs) and explained why he was getting foot pain. The price for his New Balance sneakers was similar to the online prices and I got the added benefit of a shoe expert's advice. I ended up also buying shoes for myself because Bob was so helpful. I've run out of patience with buying shoes online. This is now my go-to place for functional sneakers. read more

I have been having a lot of problems with my feet recently, particularly with running shoes given my ultra high arch and instep. Dr. Weiss, podiatrist in Darien, recommended I give The Athlete's Source a try and I could not be more satisfied. Bob took the time to understand my issues which he then evaluated and recommended absolutely the right shoes for me. A great place to find/buy quality running shoes and accessories. The owner helped me recently, and he was so knowledgeable about specifically which shoes I should try for my training purposes. I love to run and my wife loves to walk. We usually go to big box stores or online for our shoes, but I decided to check this place out instead when I wore out my latest pair of sneakers. Thank goodness I did. They have a selection geared towards quality. And their staff is incredibly knowledgeable. Julia patiently helped me find the perfect pair by analyzing my gate, taking into consideration my level of activity and helping me understand how different brands and models would perform. She could even answer questions about shoe construction and how a particular design evolved over time. A few weeks later my wife came in for her new pair and had the same great experience. That combination of quality products and excellent service can make a big difference over the course of lots of miles, helping improve performance and avoid injury. read more

Great selection & very knowledgeable staff. I went in looking for a pair of cross trainers, and I ended up buying 2 pairs (New Balance & Asics) for me and 2 pairs of running shoes for my wife (Asics & Brooks). Dillin was extremely knowledgeable & helpful, and he really took the time to find my needs and make recommendations based on those. A fairly well curated selection of sneakers & apparel, especially for such a small store. It would be great if they carried Nike, who truly pioneered the running sneaker. And they carry Crocs, which are not for athletes, but goofballs following a strange trend. Those who need a certain width pair of New Balances, you can find them here. You can also find a good selection of Asics, which is a plus. The other downsides are that everything was full price, no discounted sneakers on the 10ish pairs that I looked at. And worst of all, when you call them when they are busy, and they tell you that they will call you back, they do not. So, if you are a serious athlete who likes good customer service, this is not your best bet. read more

Good to great selection of sneakers for the whole family. They seem to focus on having the best of the best for athletic sneakers. However, what I loved most was the service! A-maz-ing!!! They measured my feet first and place the sneaker on my foot like to old days when shoe salespersons were really making an effort. Yes, I bought and spent a lot! But my feet are worth it! Excellent place to get your running shoes. The guys there are very knowledgeable. Found out I was wearing the wrong type of shoe. They put me through a full profile that included a foot scanner and a visual of how I stand and walk. I was up in the air on two models they recommended but was able to try their treadmill and chose Asics Kayanos They did a video of while I ran on the treadmill and played it back to show me how the shoes would help with my pronation. Love the shoes and the pain is gone. I plan on taking my son there since they have a large selection of kids running shoes too. read more
