Someone inside saw me but kept working so I rang the doorbell and a kid answered and rolled his eyes like it was a big effort. I asked to confirm they were still open and he said yes but was clearly annoyed. Girl at cash register said they close early to prepare the store to leave at 9pm. That's not how it worked in my retail days, and I get everyone wants to go home, but don't lock the doors early and be rude to customers within open business hours. Or change the hours to accommodate. I guess if you need to come here and make sure it's hours before closing.

I though incorrectly that they would stand behind their merchandise. I have spent at least $ 5,000 between their Rye and Mt Kisco stores and expected to be treated like a valued customer. Did I expect a 400 credit? No. But at least something to recognize the dress was and defective and acknowledge my business. Some kind of credit. I will never shop here again. Be warned.

I tried on a super cute boot in a size that was a bit too tight. Maria instantly called another store and the boot was in Darien that afternoon. I couldn't ask for better service. Such a breath of fresh air as I did NOT have the same experiences in fellow stores. It's so easy to be nice and these women have it down. Just have to exercise self control and not spend so much money there! Will definitely pop in to say hello when in the neighborhood.

Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Shopping for shoes has always been hard for me. My feet run on the larger side and are very wide as well as one of them being half a size bigger than the other. Shari, the woman who helped me, was one of the most accommodating, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoyable people I have ever met. I usually don't look forward to shopping whatsoever let alone shoe shopping, and not only did I find shoes I loved Shari somehow made me EXCITED about the entire thing. I was planning to stop in for maybe 5 minutes, but somehow I was In the store for over 4 hours! Shari brought out not only shoes I had asked to see, but also styles and colors that were not on the floor that she thought I would like and that were actually in my size. She also heard I lived near snow and without me having to ask brought out brands that were water proof and all weather boots. I was astonished how enthusiastic she was about the whole process. I actually found shoes I loved which almost never happens. I never once felt pressured to buy anything and loved shopping so much I actually started to shop for clothes as well. She was also very knowledgeable about all the brands they carry. There was a coat I loved that I was sure was real fur and being a vegan I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Shari actually knew quite a bit about the brand and informed me they were a progressive faux fur company that were committed to making high quality products without the use of animals. She knew a lot about the owners of the company and their origins. I found a brand I love which wouldn't have happened without Shari being so knowledgeable about her products. If you have time I would stop into the store just to have Shari help you shop. I know she's moving from the Greenwich location to be the manager at the location in Mount Kisco. She's honestly wonderful and if I could bring her everywhere I shop I would!
