There also seems to be a lot of employees who work there, although none of them have ever spoken to me except the one girl at the checkout counter who shrieked "next" when I was waiting to pay. Although she was kind of shouting in general so maybe it wasn't directly at me. She was able to look at her phone while checking me out but she removed all the security tags so that is a win. I've never had to wait too long in line to get checked out so really can't complain. For clothing, I have to say this Dick's is great although for service it's not terrific so I figure that equals a three star rating.

Very disappointed with my experience…read more I tried multiple times to call the store before making the trip, but there is no direct way to reach the actual store and speak with someone about inventory. The website showed that the item I wanted was in stock, so I drove approximately an hour and a half out of my way specifically to purchase it. When I arrived, I was told that the one item showing as "in stock" was actually a returned unit that was defective and could not be sold. If the item was defective and unavailable for purchase, why was it being counted as available inventory on the website?

In sleepy Ridgefield, CT there exists the best running shoes/accessories store I have been to on…read morethe entire planet. Been to very good specialty running stores in San Fran, NYC, Seattle and Chicago, but nothing compares. The proprietor, Marc Chapman is as knowledgeable about all levels of running (from beginner to competitive athlete), and is very generous about sharing the knowledge with all who enter the world of Kilometers. He will watch you run for a bit, evaluate your mechanics and suggest just the right shoe for you, and work with you over the months and years to continue to guide your shoe selection and educate you on the sport. If there were more retailers with the passion that Chapman has for his trade, the likes of Niketown and Champs never would have existed, because they simply would not be able to compete.

One of my favorite yarn stores and the store that is local to my town is Nancy O. It's not just a yarn store and tries to provide something for everyone. It's not just a yarn store, it is a gift store as well. You can find women's clothes, scarves, jewelry, candles, and a few kitschy gifts. Nancy truly caters to a diverse clientele which is important for a small business owner. I always know I can stop in here for a housewarming gift or a little something to bring to a dinner party or for a birthday. She also wraps free of charge! It's a great place for yarn purchases for the yarn addict and Nancy O has also created her own line of yarn which is super soft. I included a pic in pale pink, I think this is in my needles next for spring!
