So it looks like this place has evolved quite a bit since the last time I was here. There is now a…read moremuch prettier sign in front, as well as a (S facing) patio in the parking lot. Seating has changed quite a bit as well. The furniture has gone slightly upscale. With that said, my buddy and I found the bar style chairs rather uncomfortable. Not only were the seats themselves a bit on the small side, but they were too high compared to the tables. My thighs were banging against the underside of the table. This is probably my single biggest complaint about the place. I would prefer to stand if it were allowed. Sadly it looks like their pricing has gone way up as well. As of the time of writing, a flight is now $10. The beer selection has also increased quite a bit. The beers that stuck out the most for me were the fruity ones. Special mention to the guava ale. That one is almost like fruit juice. The mango ale isn't as flavourful as I would've hoped, but I imagine certain fruits are simply more difficult to work with when making beer. I'm sure I'll be back at some point. Hopefully they fix the chair problem though.

They have "sammiches" and other pub type food. The food looked good, but I didn't get to try as I spent all my money on booze that day. Staff were friendly, and quite helpful. The beers cover quite a wide selection here, from light to dark. There are some test batches as well. Flights contain 4 tasters, for a total of 16oz. Overall the beers were quite good. Recommended.

First off...this is a great space. Staff and food are great. We have been here over a dozen times…read moreover the past 2 years. We went today, a Saturday just after lunch and the atmosphere was horrible. I counted 57 children under 5 years old and 42 adults. This was nothing more than a glorified Day Care with a beer garden. If you want to go to a place where children are crying and creaming endlessly...this is your place mid day...perhaps the evening is better? We will never return.

Oak is part of the JRG fam, which i find hit or miss. I'm a big fan of Livelyhood in port moody (i think they have a great chef cuz the food is usually pretty good). I went to celebrate my nephews 8th birthday there (he said his reasoning was cuz they had good breakfast, and he could watch the hockey game). It was during happy hour so there are some cheaper options. I decided to get 1 corn dog ($4), and the pretzel ($6). When they server came with the food she was like "they accidentally made you 3 corn dog". well hey i'm not complaining! The pretzel arrived and looked ROUGH. i could tell it was going to be awful, i had a few bites and was not having it, it was dry, no salt or seasoning and the dip only worked for the corn dogs. I really enjoyed the corn dogs, they were fresh and tasty! I ended up letting the server know i was not happy with the pretzel and that it was dry and very bland. I usually have decent experiences here, the service is good, nice layout and the food is decent, but this pretzel was rough. She was really nice about my feedback and when my bill came, it was only $4. Thankfully she had taken the pretzel off my bill and was super super nice about it. Shoutout to Breanne! Maybe it's time to switch up the pretzel recipe but all in all, oak is a decent place if you're looking for pub food in langley. I prefer it over townhall for some reason.
