I've been here a few times. We bike the Poco trail and come for drinks/lunch afterwards. I've only had beer here, usually the juicy which is an IPA. There is a few regular beers and some seasonal ones. The food menu is mostly pizza but they have salads and some other shareable plates. The thing that I find odd is the setup. It is self serve. You go up and order at the counter and the server will bring you food/drink out to you. But the outside and inside is separate even though it's the same restaurant. The prices are even different. If you order inside, you get served in a glass, if you order outside you get served in a plastic cup. When we've been there it's been hot so everyone is sitting outside and there is a big lineup for beer. Inside there is no lineup cuz no one is sitting inside. This makes zero sense to me............

Who can say no to having a drink at The Patch Brewery on Halloween? Not I. This place is recognizable from the road; even more exciting that it's not just a cute red barn and pumpkin patch, but a brewery. It's huge, roomy, and filled with kind employees. We went in and the three of us had ciders and shared a gluten free pizza. The pizza crust was confirmed to be chickpea and rice flour and it was one of the better pizzas I have had! My friends also were impressed, never having had a GF pizza before. Definitely want to go back.

Newer brewery in maple ridge with great views. We went on a quiet holiday Monday but it does get busy when it is sunny. There are no resos I believe. They have a menu of pizzas with a stone oven, some in house and guest brews. If you're not into the alcohol, they also have zero proof and coffee! There is also space for the little kids to run outside and some lawn games. Great vibes. They have really thought of everything!

We've been wanting to check out The Patch in Maple Ridge and boy, was it worth the wait. A spacious farmhouse feel with lots of seating (and parking), and fun country theming. We found it to have friendly staff, and truly excellent beer flights. I had the hazy IPA, dry Irish stout, pale ale with Belgian yeast, and a brown ale with subtle fall spices. They have a pizza oven and we had a pumpkin pesto pizza with one of the best crusts I've ever tried. I wouldn't change a thing. Looking forward to a return visit to try more seasonal beers.

It's great to have another food and beverage choice in The Ridge. However, the menu is limited to beer and pizza. That's great if you love that combination! It's definitely worth checking out for yourself. But be prepared for a wait since it's been packed since opening.

It was very chill. They have 2 locations and this one is the more 'lax version off the side of a road. Their other locations is in Chilliwack which is more established as a restaurant type. After talking to the guy at the till, he mentioned that they switch flavours every thursday. That was intriguing and made this place more interesting. I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe).

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

First, maple pecan beer is reduced to a syrupy sweetness, enhancing the chocolate with nutty, caramelized notes. Then, smooth puréed cashews are stirred in, adding a creamy texture that balances the rich chocolate base. Served with velvety squash purée swirled into a rich traditional vanilla custard in a buttery croissant cup. The hot chocolate's cashew nut puree was very unique. I stirred it well, and it made the drink even creamier. Before stirring, I tasted a bit of the puree, and it was so nutty, flavorful, and had a great texture. The hot chocolate itself wasn't too sweet, with a subtle maple pecan beer flavor. The squash puree into vanilla custard in the croissant cup was delicious. The vanilla custard melted like lava, and the croissant cup was crispy. I hope I can have it again, even though it's a limited item. Service was very friendly and attentive. It is a very popular brewery, and I will revisit to get a beer again.
