Very relaxed vibe with the most interesting patio set up. With the lawn chairs, it really feels like you're sitting in your backyard having a cold one. I liked the ambiance they put out. It was very chill. They have 2 locations and this one is the more 'lax version off the side of a road. Their other locations is in Chilliwack which is more established as a restaurant type. After talking to the guy at the till, he mentioned that they switch flavours every thursday. That was intriguing and made this place more interesting. I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe). read more

This is our first visit since covid and we must say we were very impressed. We had made reservations so got a spot on the patio but they also have walk ups for the lawn. We loved how we flipped the menu up if we needed something but if it was down, we were left alone. I was craving their tacos but instead got their pizza this time around as there weren't any tacos on the menu. I must say that I definitely was not disappointed as it was hot and fresh out of the oven for us. And what can I say about the beers except there's never been one I haven't liked. Out of the 3 craft beer places I've tried so far in Abbotsford (Old Abbey, this one, and Ravens), this one takes the cake. We have a winner. Parking is available in the lot next to the building. They did a really good job with both the exterior and interior of the venue. There is a nice large lawn in front, which must be great in the summer. There is even a fenced outhouse area. The inside is classy and stylish, with plenty of wood, concrete, and tile. There's a real wood fireplace at the back, which keeps the place nice and cozy. Staff are friendly and cheerful. The beers are a bit more on the hoppy side, but there are several styles too chose from. They even have a radler, which is always nice. There's also a kitchen here that serves small dishes. The tacos here are very good as well. For the non-drinkers, there are also (free) taps for water and soda water, which is always nice and refreshing. I would gladly come back if in the area. Officially one of our favourite breweries outside of Vancouver (tied with Camp Brewing). Their space gives off some nice clean black, white and wooden vibes. We didn't stay as they were just opening up and the sky was looking a little too grey to be sitting outside. We took home the Gold Sour (bottle) - 10% and left us very happy after consumption. So delicious and smooth for a sour. The dry hopped pineapple saison ((bottle) also awesome and a six pack of the IPA. So drinkable. Located just a few minutes off the highway in Abbotsford, this is a craft brewery with a great vibe and quality beer. The folks who run this place care, and it shows. Nice food, nice decor, and a great outdoor seating area with dogs! I aim to visit here after hiking or doing other activities out in the valley. read more

We had a wonderful time at Field House Brewing. All of the seating was out doors, but even on a rainy day that have a phone heating available. Seating is limited so I do suggest going online and making a reservation, because due to covid there is social distancing practiced, and limited tables. They're serving food and drinks, we had the best hand made pretzel here! They're made by a local bakery Old Hand, also located in Abbotsford. It was served with a beer mustard, I recommend trying this for sure! Friendly staff, great beer selection, great pretzels, and an option of cider if you're not a beer drinker. Grateful to have a great location like this open during a pandemic. read more

Came here as a pit stop on my way back to Vancouver from Chilliwack. The outdoor lawn has a really nice ambiance to it, and is the perfect place to sip on your beers. I ordered the flight and was really happy it was reasonably priced at $9! The standout for me was the grapefruit rosemary IPA...so good. There were also 2 adorable dogs running around their lawn - disclaimer field house cannot guarantee cute dogs on their lawn during each visit. read more

I ordered the soup because I knew it would take thirty seconds to put in a bowl. I had to go back to work without eating, so I went all day without eating due to lackluster service at Field House. Yum yum yummy! I will preface that I don't drink so I can't comment on the beers. I love the feel of this place, small and quaint, wood burning fireplace, intimate seating and forest like decor. It's so cozy you just want to curl up with someone and chow down in front of the fire. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it came in its own little skillet. There was so much flavour and the portion was more than big enough for one. I almost recommend getting another dish and splitting it with someone as there is a lot of yummy food on the menu. This place is a bit out of the way and there's not slot of parking available, there is some on the road but people speed down it pretty quick and crossing is a bit tricky and dangerous. Next time I'm in Abbotsford, which is often because of Remples meats, I'll be sure to try some more of the menu. read more

An unexpectedly wonderful find in Abbotsford! Field House Brewing nailed it on the ambiance (very chill - kids are welcome) beer/drinks (great selection) and food (excellent, even though the kitchen was slammed). We were in town with a dog in tow for father's day and were happy to discover 3 seating areas: a covered and dog-friendly patio with picnic tables and a bar; tables and bar seating inside the building; and lawn chairs with tables on the beer lawn. The patio has heaters for cool weather and there were lots of nice blankets provided too. The food/drink situation: order at the bar, roving servers deliver the food and check in periodically. Great lineup of beers and a tasty kombucha option. There was a limited menu when we were there so we tried: a pizza, which arrived with great leopard spots and a perfectly chewy thin crust; addictive Mac & cheese with incredibly stringy cheesy sauce, pickled jalapeños and rye crumbs on top; the crunchy/salty but also soft duck-fat potatoes; and a grilled cheese. We'd happily recommend any and all of those. read more

The only reason I gave it 3* Is the food. I'm used to Parallel 49 Brewing Company test kitchen food. Where they have an amazing chef serving awesome beer with awesome food. I know this is Abbotsford, but if you can brew awesome beer you can serve awesome food. I would have given 2.5* but can't due to the rating system. Unimpressed. The bartender was rude. My friend wanted two tap beers mixed into one glass and he outright refused. Instead of doing that, he scoffed and questioned her, then outright refused to mix the two. Instead he gave her two half glasses, one of each beer, and so she had to mix them herself. He THEN said quite seriously, "I'll do you a favor and only charge you for one beer even though I'm technically giving you two beers" but as these were half glasses, his comment really did not make sense and further irritated me. I had the cider that was on tap. It tasted like alcohol with a slight apple flavor and musty undertones. I had a few sips and gave up. As cider is my favorite alcoholic beverage to sip on, I was disappointed. read more

This place is amazing! My husband and I come here as much as we can, especially when we are in Abby. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here last August and they were so accommodating. We are here again, and had a mix up with our food being "out" after paying... twice. Both times they handled it with the best customer service I have ever had. The mix up was cleared and they still gave us free beers while here and a ticket for free beer next time. They were going to refund us all our money and get us whatever we wanted. We are truly blown away. Thank you fieldhouse crew! You're the best! The environment here is so chill and lovely (especially in the summer), the customer service is phenomenal, and the beer/kombucha is to die for! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Had a few run-in's with friends at this establishment over the summer, I really liked the vibe. Big, welcoming outdoor space for kids and animals to run around is a also a nice touch. This brewery is very popular, at least in the warmth of Summer. Keep this in mind because there is often a line and limited seating/capacity. If you are getting growler fills, don't wait in the line, they will let you in to quickly take care of that. I could go on about their beer selection, but really it's so subjective. I think my favorite was the Summer Pilsner, clean and crisp, and they had it available in a 16 pack, apparently their first can run. I also enjoyed their soured beers. Staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and would take the time to answer questions, even with a giant line out the door. Well played. The food was kind of hit or miss, possibly because they were cranking it out of that little kitchen like lightning. Example, some of the pizza's were under or overdone, pretzel was not as good as I wanted it to be BUT there is a share (lol, yeah right!) plate here that is AWESOME: Duck Fat Potatoes. It's like they took the fattest duck possible and smashed it into the crispiest potatoes that oil can fry. Honestly, it would not be a true visit without laying waste to a plate!!!! read more

I live in downtown Vancouver but take the time to drive out there to pick up a case of sours (beer) bc they have consistently made great tasting ones. We also love the relaxed "patio" and food. My last visit I ordered the spinach mushroom pizza and when it first arrived I was thinking I was going to be disappointed bc it didn't look like it had much sauce or cheese but to my surprise it was full of flavour. The farmhouse salad was nice as well. From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive and I really like the card system they have for waiters. We shared the Spicy Mac n Cheese, Margherita Pizza, the Faspa Board and a few tacos: Tacos de Pato, Frijoles Refritos and Panceta de Cerdo. All the food was delicious. What a nice spot, if I lived nearby I would be a regular. Nicely decorated, friendly people working, heaters on the patio. So many good things! Had two different sours and they were both fabulous! The salad was presented beautifully and it was delicious, I am a sucker for beet salads. The pretzel was so disappointing! Now what we're not gonna do is serve cold rubbery pretzels when it probably would've been delicious if it was warmed (which they are obviously capable of doing) So many breweries are doing the pretzel, its a classic combo beer + pretzel, don't mess it up ;) Was packed which is always a good thing and raining gross weather when I was in but felt warm and bubbly in the vibes. We were in Abbotsford for a wedding and woke up with a hankering for some tasty brunch before driving home. Our friend recommended we come here, and we're surprised to hear that a brewery offered brunch! They have bottomless drip coffee (rich and tasty) and we shared the eggs benny, Creme brûlée French toast and a side of sausage and it was so tasty! We both agreed that the Benny was better but all in all super tasty. I came here all the way from New Westminster on a Friday afternoon for a small birthday celebration. My initial thoughts were: "ew, Abbotsford" (no offence or anything) but I soon realized that this was a gem of a place, one that I very much wish was closer to home. I love all of their brews. I tried their pear and fennel radler, their gose, their dutch sour wit, and their porter. All of these beers were bursting with complexity and flavour and I would gladly drink any of them again, but the standout for me was the gourmet pear and fennel radler. Their unique combination of pear and fennel tasted more like a cocktail than a beer since it was so easy to drink. Needless to say, it was damn refreshing on a 35 degree day. Their food was also bang on. We ordered their pretzel, cheese, and sausage board, as well as kettle chips and dip. On their menu, they list where they source each of their foods from, which I appreciated because it shows their love for local businesses. Everything was delicious: their pretzel was fluffy, their cheese was strong, their sausage was tasty, and the dip for their chips was creamy, zesty, and unlike anything I have had before. It is causing me pain to write about this, coming from a deep sense of longing. Anyways, lastly, I loved their interior. With sweater pillows, a fireplace, and endless wooden walls, you truly do get the feeling that you are in a cabin in the woods. It is cozy, approachable, yet trendy. I'd love to come here in the winter when their fireplace is roaring to drink a heartwarming stout and have more of their pretzels and sausages. I never thought I'd say this but I am anxiously awaiting my next trip to Abbotsford! read more

Field House was my favourite "new find" during my BC beer hunting adventures of 2017. Instead of falling into the traditional "west coast" brewing styles, I was super impressed by coming across a selection of hazy IPAs, wild yeast fermented ales, and even sours. The gose was one of the best I had on my trip. The Lavender ESB was impressive in subtlety while being full bodied. The east coast and hazy wheat IPAs had the low bitterness and high aromatics expected, making for great smooth drinking beers. Even the Dutch Pale Ale had a clean drinkability to it that a lager/pilsner drinker could enjoy. The tap room is cozy and quaint, and the pizza we ordered to eat was surprisingly great. Full marks for Field House Brewing, they are a gem of Abbotsford! read more

I'm an Abbotsford girl from way back, and have observed various attempts to shake off the conservative city-in-the-country image that it's been (pardon the pun) saddled with. In my opinion, no business has done this as successfully as Field House. As the BF put it, "This place would be cool anywhere", and that's exactly right - its awesomeness is not merely relative. We'd previously been here in the summertime and marvelled at the hip-backyard kind of vibe they have curated in the outdoor area, and now were able to experience the cozy cabin atmosphere in the tasting room. The beers of course speak for themselves - original and complex (the Lavender ESB was a favourite) - and the food, which we hadn't indulged in on our first visit, was spectacular. I loved the affectionate irony of dubbing their charcuterie plate the "Faspa board" (which Mennonites know as the cold meat-pickles-and-buns Sunday dinner that gives harried moms a break after the bigger post-church meal, and which in my childhood was often eaten while watching Hymn Sing on TV. But I digress). This "faspa" runs more towards the local and the artisinal - paper-thin rounds of sausage (one of which was apparently made in-house with their own ale), wonderful local cheeses, various condiments including bacon jam and a savoury onion compote, a round of hearty bread and some crackers from an Abbotsford bakery. We also had cups of the daily soup, a divine potato-bacon chowder served in whimsical tin mugs. The bill was about $50 for two flights and a filling lunch. I see some comments that it's pricier than other local breweries, but for those willing to pay a bit more for quality and originality, it is well worth it. There were several intriguing beers listed on the coming-soon chalkboard, and I know that we will be back to sample those (and maybe a pizza next time) in the near future. read more
