This is our first visit since covid and we must say we were very impressed. We had made reservations so got a spot on the patio but they also have walk ups for the lawn. We loved how we flipped the menu up if we needed something but if it was down, we were left alone. I was craving their tacos but instead got their pizza this time around as there weren't any tacos on the menu. I must say that I definitely was not disappointed as it was hot and fresh out of the oven for us. And what can I say about the beers except there's never been one I haven't liked. I do miss tasting flights but I don't mind a glass either.

@jasonsalwayshungry Field House has vibes found no where else in Abbotsford. They are always bringing the best new sour beers and I'm finally getting a chance to explore the Canteen menu. This pulled pork mac N cheese was all expect and more great portions on the pull pork, firm macaroni noodle with a complementary tangy bbq sauce 8.8/10 rockets shout out to the lemon curd sour @fieldhousebrewing #fieldhousebrewing #abbotsford #britishcolumbia #canada #alwayshungry #foodcritic #foodie #abbotsfordeats #abbotsfordtourism

    Beef tacos.

A solid 3.5 stars. The tacos are good but need more heat and flavour. Nice to see darker beers on the menu.

We didn't have a reservation but they didn't make us feel bad about it. They stated in the nicest way that the table was ours for 90 minutes. Seemed fair enough. The Covid precautions are well thought out and respectfully enforced. Staff is friendly with their smiles evident behind their masks. Our sunny Sunday lunch starts with tasty brews. We opted for the Grilled Cheese w/ house slaw and a Margherita Pizza. Soooooooo delicious. Full marks all 'round.

The short: - tried once in Dec 2020 and loved it, will definitely go back again - good ipas and food, allow dogs (on patio) The long: - good ipas and stouts: field house ipa was my fav, also liked the clementine whita ipa and salted black porter - liked the margherita pizza and butternut squash hummus - friendly service, allowed us a temporary bench before getting our table - have heaters and a fireplace in the patio - offer flights (4 beers per flight) - great covid measures: physically distanced, staff wore masks, multiple sanitizer stations, QR code menu - big, clean bathrooms inside and outside - dedicated and street parking available

Out of the 3 craft beer places I've tried so far in Abbotsford (Old Abbey, this one, and Ravens), this one takes the cake. We have a winner. Parking is available in the lot next to the building. They did a really good job with both the exterior and interior of the venue. There is a nice large lawn in front, which must be great in the summer. There is even a fenced outhouse area. The inside is classy and stylish, with plenty of wood, concrete, and tile. There's a real wood fireplace at the back, which keeps the place nice and cozy. Staff are friendly and cheerful. The beers are a bit more on the hoppy side, but there are several styles too chose from. They even have a radler, which is always nice. There's also a kitchen here that serves small dishes. The tacos here are very good as well. For the non-drinkers, there are also (free) taps for water and soda water, which is always nice and refreshing. I would gladly come back if in the area. Recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Field House Brewing. All of the seating was out doors, but even on a rainy day that have a phone heating available. Seating is limited so I do suggest going online and making a reservation, because due to covid there is social distancing practiced, and limited tables. They're serving food and drinks, we had the best hand made pretzel here! They're made by a local bakery Old Hand, also located in Abbotsford. It was served with a beer mustard, I recommend trying this for sure! Friendly staff, great beer selection, great pretzels, and an option of cider if you're not a beer drinker. Grateful to have a great location like this open during a pandemic.

Went back today. The young lady at the counter remembered that we had been in on the night of a he US election...drowning our sorrows... LOL! The toasted coconut black lager is a very tasty brew! Thanks for the recommendation, Josh!! ...and so nice to enjoy it by the fire! Cheers!!

Good food good beer good environment I like their Mac and cheese a lot. One of the best that we have tried. So rich with so much cheese. Also the crunchy cheese on top? Yum! Beer flight in this environment is perfect. Love their sour white gose. Highly recommend!

Yum yum yummy! I will preface that I don't drink so I can't comment on the beers. I love the feel of this place, small and quaint, wood burning fireplace, intimate seating and forest like decor. It's so cozy you just want to curl up with someone and chow down in front of the fire. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it came in its own little skillet. There was so much flavour and the portion was more than big enough for one. I almost recommend getting another dish and splitting it with someone as there is a lot of yummy food on the menu. This place is a bit out of the way and there's not slot of parking available, there is some on the road but people speed down it pretty quick and crossing is a bit tricky and dangerous. Next time I'm in Abbotsford, which is often because of Remples meats, I'll be sure to try some more of the menu.

An unexpectedly wonderful find in Abbotsford! Field House Brewing nailed it on the ambiance (very chill - kids are welcome) beer/drinks (great selection) and food (excellent, even though the kitchen was slammed). We were in town with a dog in tow for father's day and were happy to discover 3 seating areas: a covered and dog-friendly patio with picnic tables and a bar; tables and bar seating inside the building; and lawn chairs with tables on the beer lawn. The patio has heaters for cool weather and there were lots of nice blankets provided too. The food/drink situation: order at the bar, roving servers deliver the food and check in periodically. Great lineup of beers and a tasty kombucha option. There was a limited menu when we were there so we tried: a pizza, which arrived with great leopard spots and a perfectly chewy thin crust; addictive Mac & cheese with incredibly stringy cheesy sauce, pickled jalapeños and rye crumbs on top; the crunchy/salty but also soft duck-fat potatoes; and a grilled cheese. We'd happily recommend any and all of those.

The patio is nice because it has lights and heat, but MY GOD the bar stools are not comfortable. I felt like my legs were gonna have bruises and my lower back was gonna be sore. We are both young and active people but were DYING on the barstools. It was also odd to be so high up when we had dogs on the ground, as it made it hard to manage them. We ended up putting them in the car because it was such an awkward height distance (they are small dogs). I was excited about the online menu since they had a lot of gluten free options. The menu in person was different than the menus I saw online and on Yelp. Not too different, just definitely a rotation/seasonal element. I perhaps had some gluten free vegan wings in my heart that have not seen the menu in a while but are posted online a lot. I got a hawaiian style bowl with tofu and my fiance got a sandwich. We each got a cocktail as well, and our total was $100. I thought this was a little steep, but we did like everything we got. I will go back, but probably without dogs and without a dream of what I see on the online menu.

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

Then, smooth puréed cashews are stirred in, adding a creamy texture that balances the rich chocolate base. Served with velvety squash purée swirled into a rich traditional vanilla custard in a buttery croissant cup. The hot chocolate's cashew nut puree was very unique.
