Looks like they've vastly improved their beer selection since the last time I was here (2020). Time to try another flight. As of the time of writing, they have 10 beers. Yup, the beers are quite decent. The Earl Grey one stands out. I also enjoyed their blueberry wheat ale. Definitely worth checking out if one is in downtown Port Coquitlam.

I stopped by to treat myself to a solo mother's day lunch. Patio has a wait, but the dining room has lots of space at 3pm. I selected the Thai lager, with a second choice of a non-alcoholic blackberry lemon ale...I will try that one next time. This crystal clear rice lager has an intriguing mellow lemon scent...reminds me of the Philippines probably the calamansi and lemongrass part, with the background of ginger and lime leaf. Big flavour, not for the faint of heart. I (predictably) ordered the three mini yorkies, trying to get one of each of the flavours (jackfruit, pulled pork, and brisket) ~the server guessed it would be a no, and was correct. The smoke on the brisket is bold and on point. Sadly, this overpowers the lovely gravy, and the horseradish creama, the fries are spiced, a bit crispy, and the fluffy potato flavour shines. I would have preferred gravy or the horseradish or BBQ sauce as dip rather than the usual ketchup. The yorkshire pudding itself was nearly biscuit or soft slider bun texture, and not as crisp / deep roasted as the traditional. Overall an excellent dish, I will reorder (next time, I want to try the jackfruit!) Service is nicely paced, not hurried but not slow at all, which feels good and relaxed for a Sunday afternoon.

Promising... I've been waiting for this place to open for a while now. Great to add another brewery to Port Coquitlam especially this close to "downtown" PoCo. They were out of the beef brisket and pulled pork, but I managed to get one of the last beef ribs with some corn bread to help me decide if I'm coming back for more. There's sauces next to the cutlery at the back, don't forget to grab the house "hazy hot sauce". The cornbread is on point and the beef rib left me wishing there was a second (also because there wasn't enough meat on it) One meat and side will set you back $18, add a second meat for another $12. The Hazy IPA hit the spot after a long day at work. I'll be back to try more of the southern style BBQ during the week. I'm a sucker for smoked meat!

The short: - tried once in May 2021 and might return - mainly liked the service and ambiance The long: - food: 3.5 stars. Brisket was great, soft, Memphis sauce was average. French fries were good. Chicken wings with hot sauce was below average. Wings were dry, not well done (pinkish texture). - beers - hazy ipas were average: 3.5 stars - Friendly service: 5 stars - dog friendly, offered water bowls - big patio with shaded sections - no dedicated parking, street parking available but limited

Located on a side street with tons of street parking, this gem have some nice beers. They have large indoor AND a large outdoor seating area. Beers are super reasonable at $6 for 12oz. We really love the Hefenweizen and the Juicy IPA. We didn't order food, though it looks delicious. We will definitely come back again.

Will's Midnight Snack. Look at those fries! And the best cornbread I've had.

Oh I am so happy there is a place like this in the tri cities! What a wonderful assortment of bbq! We had "Will's Midnight Snack", with all the meats, and all the sides, plus an extra Mac n Cheese, and our family of 2 adults and 2 older kids ate everything easily. The meat was all really good. Nothing overly plentiful, but rather just enough for a sampling of each for the 4 of us. The sides are all delicious. The collard greens were a surprise hit for everyone. Next time we will definitely order a second order of those darn near perfect fries! Their Covid-19 era take-out setup is very safe feeling. And the beer is great too!

BBQ in Tri-cities with Micro Brew. Win win. They had a soft opening during the biggest epidemic hit our world and thankfully they seem to have made it. Location. For all those that live near downtown POCO. Check Decent Micro Brews. Tried Kiolsh. Impressed. Nice flavor. Pulled pork was my meal. Moist and good serving size. Choices of sauce available. I will try different offerings next visit. Staff and service. Great welcome and helpful. Quick service. They do have cans and growler service. But growlers maybe not available at this time. Clean and industrial decor. Owners must have done their homework as it ticks many boxes of what was lacking here in this area. Only recommendation. Add more for desserts. As that is sadly lacking in the tri city area. Maybe Key Lime? Great addition to southern style bbq.

Beef Brisket with Mac and Cheese. Coleslaw and a couple pickled beans.

We decided to head down to the newest Port Coquitlam Brewery and were happy we did. They have a large seating area with lots of communal and small group tables as well as tables for two. They have a good sized BBQ inspired menu with several snacks and appetizers that are good for sharing. When we arrived we ordered a flight with all four of their in house beers which were all good. We also ordered a breads and dips plate as well as a "single meat and side". Their breads and dips plate was great for sharing and came with a nice selection of pickled vegetables. I had the Brisket and Macaroni as a side. The brisket was delicious. The Macaroni was adequate, and the Coleslaw that was included was good. The food service is self serve so don't expect table service, they had 2 different BBQ sauces at the condiment counter as well as a few hot sauces and ketchup. I'll be back, and recommend you give it a try, one of the better Brewery/Food places in the Lower Mainland

Good beers! Lots of room for sitting, great vibe. The Stout Braised Beef poutine was okay. Coulda been better if the cheese curds were a little more melted instead of cold. And better if the fries were fresh. Gotta try it again tho!

It was very chill. They have 2 locations and this one is the more 'lax version off the side of a road. Their other locations is in Chilliwack which is more established as a restaurant type. After talking to the guy at the till, he mentioned that they switch flavours every thursday. That was intriguing and made this place more interesting. I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe).

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

The patio is nice because it has lights and heat, but MY GOD the bar stools are not comfortable. I felt like my legs were gonna have bruises and my lower back was gonna be sore. We are both young and active people but were DYING on the barstools. It was also odd to be so high up when we had dogs on the ground, as it made it hard to manage them. We ended up putting them in the car because it was such an awkward height distance (they are small dogs). I was excited about the online menu since they had a lot of gluten free options. The menu in person was different than the menus I saw online and on Yelp. Not too different, just definitely a rotation/seasonal element. I perhaps had some gluten free vegan wings in my heart that have not seen the menu in a while but are posted online a lot. I got a hawaiian style bowl with tofu and my fiance got a sandwich. We each got a cocktail as well, and our total was $100. I thought this was a little steep, but we did like everything we got. I will go back, but probably without dogs and without a dream of what I see on the online menu.

It was a nice little pub that also made their own craft beer. They are located in Duncan. I was told before coming here their crispy chick sandwich is the best. We ordered a 2 appetizers to share: calamari and crispy buffalo chicken. I got a virgin lemonade and the crispy chicken sandwich. The food was good given the fact that it is located in a small town. I found the lemonade a bit watered down. It was quite tasteless or maybe it had too much ice. The calamari was very tasty. It wasn't like super crispy but you can tell that the calamari was very fresh. It was not chewy. The crispy buffalo chicken was super spicy. Good thing it had ranch on the side to dilute the spiciness. The chicken wasn't very crispy. The chicken was a bit dry. The chicken sandwich was ok. It wasn't wow wow. They did flattened the chicken before breading it in panko and then deep frying it. The chicken was more on the dry end. I liked how it was served very hot. So you know it was made upon order. I wished they added more sauce to the burger. They were generous on the cheese. The chicken was crispy and not oily. I had my burger with onion rings for an extra $2. They were very generous on the onion rings. They didn't have any special sauce for the onion rings. They served with ketchup. Most places served it with chipotle mayo. I would say food was more on the lower end of 3 and service was 4 stars. I believe Craig Street is one of the two bigger restaurants in the small downtown of Duncan. Good thing is that there are plenty of free parking everywhere. It is definitely a good meeting/hangout spot with friends.
