This brewery offered a hot chocolate item for the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2025. I visited a few weeks ago and tried a unique hot chocolate item, and I revisited for the new limited item for the festival. #139 Maple Nutty Bliss Hot Chocolate - This decadent treat combines the deep, roasty flavors of maple pecan beer, creamy cashew purée, and the classic warmth of hot cocoa. First, maple pecan beer is reduced to a syrupy sweetness, enhancing the chocolate with nutty, caramelized notes. Then, smooth puréed cashews are stirred in, adding a creamy texture that balances the rich chocolate base. Served with velvety squash purée swirled into a rich traditional vanilla custard in a buttery croissant cup. The hot chocolate's cashew nut puree was very unique. I stirred it well, and it made the drink even creamier. Before stirring, I tasted a bit of the puree, and it was so nutty, flavorful, and had a great texture. The hot chocolate itself wasn't too sweet, with a subtle maple pecan beer flavor. The squash puree into vanilla custard in the croissant cup was delicious. The vanilla custard melted like lava, and the croissant cup was crispy. I hope I can have it again, even though it's a limited item. Service was very friendly and attentive. It is a very popular brewery, and I will revisit to get a beer again. read more

I've been here a few times now. My friends and I bike the Poco Trails and sometimes we come here for a beer after. I've only had beers here so I can't really comment on the food but my friends seem to like it. They rave about the beef brisket and the pulled pork. My choice of beer is usually the Juicy but they do have an interesting variety to choose from. To be honest I'm not sure how the ordering works, sometimes you order at the counter and other times they come to your table. The service is friendly. I stopped by to treat myself to a solo mother's day lunch. Patio has a wait, but the dining room has lots of space at 3pm. I selected the Thai lager, with a second choice of a non-alcoholic blackberry lemon ale...I will try that one next time. This crystal clear rice lager has an intriguing mellow lemon scent...reminds me of the Philippines probably the calamansi and lemongrass part, with the background of ginger and lime leaf. Big flavour, not for the faint of heart. I (predictably) ordered the three mini yorkies, trying to get one of each of the flavours (jackfruit, pulled pork, and brisket) ~the server guessed it would be a no, and was correct. The smoke on the brisket is bold and on point. Sadly, this overpowers the lovely gravy, and the horseradish creama, the fries are spiced, a bit crispy, and the fluffy potato flavour shines. I would have preferred gravy or the horseradish or BBQ sauce as dip rather than the usual ketchup. The yorkshire pudding itself was nearly biscuit or soft slider bun texture, and not as crisp / deep roasted as the traditional. Overall an excellent dish, I will reorder (next time, I want to try the jackfruit!) Service is nicely paced, not hurried but not slow at all, which feels good and relaxed for a Sunday afternoon. read more

Promising... I've been waiting for this place to open for a while now. Great to add another brewery to Port Coquitlam especially this close to "downtown" PoCo. They were out of the beef brisket and pulled pork, but I managed to get one of the last beef ribs with some corn bread to help me decide if I'm coming back for more. There's sauces next to the cutlery at the back, don't forget to grab the house "hazy hot sauce". The cornbread is on point and the beef rib left me wishing there was a second (also because there wasn't enough meat on it) One meat and side will set you back $18, add a second meat for another $12. The Hazy IPA hit the spot after a long day at work. I'll be back to try more of the southern style BBQ during the week. I'm a sucker for smoked meat! read more

Located on a side street with tons of street parking, this gem have some nice beers. They have large indoor AND a large outdoor seating area. Beers are super reasonable at $6 for 12oz. Oh I am so happy there is a place like this in the tri cities! What a wonderful assortment of bbq! We had "Will's Midnight Snack", with all the meats, and all the sides, plus an extra Mac n Cheese, and our family of 2 adults and 2 older kids ate everything easily. The meat was all really good. Nothing overly plentiful, but rather just enough for a sampling of each for the 4 of us. The sides are all delicious. The collard greens were a surprise hit for everyone. Next time we will definitely order a second order of those darn near perfect fries! Their Covid-19 era take-out setup is very safe feeling. And the beer is great too! read more

BBQ in Tri-cities with Micro Brew. Win win. They had a soft opening during the biggest epidemic hit our world and thankfully they seem to have made it. Location. For all those that live near downtown POCO. Check Decent Micro Brews. Tried Kiolsh. Impressed. Nice flavor. Pulled pork was my meal. Moist and good serving size. Choices of sauce available. I will try different offerings next visit. Staff and service. Great welcome and helpful. Quick service. They do have cans and growler service. But growlers maybe not available at this time. My husband and I aren't big brewery patrons, not because we aren't beer lovers but because breweries usually equal no real food. But this wasn't the case for Patina Brewing so we definitely made it a mission to try it. We went on a semi-cloudy day that had a slight breeze so while the patio was hoppin' with live music, we opted for an inside table instead. We both got flights where we let our waitress make the decision for us with my husband going with darker beers and me going for lighter beers. What we got was a perfect beginner selection of their finest. I personally really enjoyed their pineapple kettle sour. For food we got the rack of ribs, corn bread side, beer braised and smoked sausage, and features fries n' more pile all to share. Let me start off by saying that the fries n' more pile is amazing. I'm usually not a big fan of pulled pork but everything else about this dish made it all bearable. It's great and you just have to get it to share if you're there. The ribs and sausage was a bit on the drier side but that was all forgiveable with the bbq sauces. What we really enjoyed at Patina and made it stand out was their service. We noticed immediately upon sitting down at our table that there was a notice about Patina providing a living wage to their employees so tips really means, "you did an AMAZING job." You could just tell from the service we received from every single worker that came to help us was that they enjoyed working there. They were all beyond friendly and was willing to help us with our decisions or just to check up on us. The only negative thing that happenned was merely a mistake that is forgiveable. We were at first seated at a shared larger communal table that could sit 6-7 people with plexi glass inbetween us and another small party but when a larger group came in we were asked if we could move. We didn't mind this at all and as a thank you from the hostess, she gave us a oktoberfest cookie on the house. She must have forgotten to minus this out because we ended up getting charged $5 for the cookie we brought home. I didn't notice it until after we paid but we knew that it was a mere mistake. Nonetheless, we really did enjoy our time at Patina Brewing and we'll definitely be back. read more

We decided to head down to the newest Port Coquitlam Brewery and were happy we did. They have a large seating area with lots of communal and small group tables as well as tables for two. They have a good sized BBQ inspired menu with several snacks and appetizers that are good for sharing. When we arrived we ordered a flight with all four of their in house beers which were all good. We also ordered a breads and dips plate as well as a "single meat and side". Their breads and dips plate was great for sharing and came with a nice selection of pickled vegetables. I had the Brisket and Macaroni as a side. The brisket was delicious. The Macaroni was adequate, and the Coleslaw that was included was good. The food service is self serve so don't expect table service, they had 2 different BBQ sauces at the condiment counter as well as a few hot sauces and ketchup. The worst service ever. During the two hours we were there on the patio we had four different servers. They never came to check on us to take orders for more beers, and when we tried to go inside to order ourselves we were told to find our waiter. When billed it was clear the communication between staff was minimal or non existent, as we were billed for three extra drinks and food we didn't order. Brutal all around. read more

Nice spot to grab a beer and a bit hidden. Big place and simple decorations but chill with good vibes. Friendly staff, although some staff are more diligent and a couple staff are quite clumsy. Spill or bump into customers. Lots of drinks to choose from and they do offer from food options on the menu as well. Really enjoyed their beers and have an amazing time. Can get quite loud so a bit difficult to have a conversation but it's alright. Good for small or medium sized groups. Big groups are fine too but might need to call first to make sure you get a spot. Just so you know that they will charge you extra to have your childs' mac and cheese covered in cheese. The served shredded cheese portion did not cover the macaroni so we asked for more so it was fully covered as one would expect when you order macaroni and cheese. The waitress brought out a tiny bit and we later saw that we were charged extra for it. We were quite disappointed while the waitress thought this was fine and did not remove the charge. We've had food delivered three times. The first two times the meat was excellent, tonight it was a little dry. The beer is great. The only area of improvement is the sides. We've had all but the fries. Whoever makes them seems to not have salt or seasonings. The beans weren't cooked properly. There was no dressing on the coleslaw and tonight the potato salad was bland. We suggest they go down to Costco and buy some potato salad. It tastes good. We hope they'll improve the sides and the consistency of the meat and we'll be back. read more

I went for the first time a few weeks ago, and have been back several times since! I have brought several people with me and everybody loves it. I appreciate the measures they have taken for COVID-19 and I feel safe being there. The beer does cost more then the average Port Moody brewery, they have 14oz size for about $7-9. Flights are $9. I am plant based so I haven't tried the meats, but everything looks good. I look forward to trying their veggie friendly options! read more

The only reason why I didn't give a 1 star review is because the beer is good. I went there for brunch and ordered a breakfast hash that comes with a poached egg and asked for pulled pork. The pork was an add on of $3 or $4. When I received my meal my poached egg was almost hard boiled and the amount of pulled pork would fit on a single fork and was dry. I sent the dish back asking for the egg to be runny and to forget about the pulled pork as I was told that the portion for the hash was only 2 ounces (56 grams). The server told me this is how they normally prepare their eggs and that they don't ask how costumers want it done, so next time remember to say how you want your egg done. I'm sorry, but I've never been to a restaurant where the standard for a poached egg was well done, and if that's the case, the ownest should be on the server to ask the costumer how they would like it. This experience has been enough to not return to patina, especially when there are so many other breweries in poco to choose from. read more
