When I called I was immediately asked to hold. No problem, I get it, its 9:30 at night on a Saturday. Once off hold I asked about the delivery times and was told the delivery time was about and hour. When I asked about carryout, she said 20-25 min. So I quickly decided on carryout. When I got there, there were no other customers and everyone was busy working in the back. A delivery driver said they would be with me in a moment. About 2-3 min later they brought the pizza and I paid for it. The pizza smelled so good and once I got it home it tasted just as good as it smelled. Rico's is one of my favorite pizzas and I would gladly chose them over one of the pizza chains read more

Rico's Pizza - a pizza in a box - Pizza Near Me - Gary, Indiana

Well I wish I would have looked at these reviews before I ordered from here. So after waiting an hour and half to get my food, it was of course cold. And while I'll eat cold pizza, I won't be paying for it. And I ordered a pepperoni pizza. I guess they forgot the pepperoni. Paper thin is not pizza crust. And why is a round pizza cut in squares? Is that an Indiana thing? Ive never heard of Indiana Style Pizza. Overall with the late delivery making the pizza inedible for the purpose of judging it and the presentation, I'll have to forgo this pizzeria in the future. Domino's would be better. At least they cut their pizza correctly read more

I know it's a pizza place but I made the mistake of ordering a hot dog and it's tough like a slim Jim. Disappointed to say the least

This is one of the best things in the city of Gary, Good pizza, the best in the Gary Indiana area. Delivery service is great,

So many good reviews so we decided to try it. we are Chicagoan's so we are used to great tasting pizza like Father and Son, Congress pizza, Bella's pizza, Gino's etc. This pizza is okay, not too much flavor, little sauce, not the best cheese. would not order again. read more

We are pizza fanatics and always looking to try new places. This place isn't close to home but we figured we'd give it a try. The lady who answered the phone was such a happy person... full of giggles which had me cracking up! Nice talking to someone so happy for a change! The pizza however... not so great! The toppings were very very scarce!! $30 for a pizza with barely any toppings???? We won't be back! read more

Entering the joint, I immediately sensed something wasn't right; the familiar smells weren't there. The pizza in the turntable display looked quite less than fresh, so I decided to order something else. I asked if the stromboli was fresh, and was told it was a frozen product. Wut? I investigated further. By their own admission, most of their choices are either premade, frozen foods, or assembled from premade, frozen ingredients. Pathetic. I chose to order a sausage and pepper sandwich. The sausage was decent enough. The red sauce? Probably from a can. The peppers weren't sliced, and weren't actually in the sandwich. The sandwich came with fries. Also low grade, frozen. I won't be returning. read more

I tried a new pizza place today. The verdict: Terrible. Originally I was going to order Luigi's but they open late on Sunday, so I went with Rico's on 25th. I read the reviews and assumed the pizza would be pretty good or at least as good as Luigis. WRONG. First of all, there was an something hard and round that I bit into on my pizza. I'm going to assume it was an olive pit? (But I would assume they'd buy pre-sliced olives. What was it? ) The tangy sauce was too overpowering. It dominated the ingredients. The other ingredients didn't have a flavor. It was like eating cardboard. I couldn't get over the oiliness of the cheese. Poor quality. I literally had to keep wiping my tongue with a napkin because the pizza was so darn greasy. I chose to throw more than half of the pizza away rather than finish eating it. Nothing remarkable or tasty about this pizza. Yet, it's overpriced compared to its competitors who do pizza better. First visit. And last visit. read more

Pizza overall is eh. BBQ sauce was good but the crust was underwhelming. Ordered a BBQ Bacon chicken pizza and they forgot the bacon. Definitely not worth 28 dollars for a single large pizza read more

I had the special. 2 slices of pizza and a can of soda. For $5.00. I ordered one slice pepperoni and the other sausage. It was freshly made. It was good. Very good special. Well worth it. I will eat here again. A must stop that everyone should try read more

This place actually has really great pizza. It is just priced a bit steep. I would t mind it so much if it was in a better neighborhood. But they do have my salads which I am extremely happy with and the people are nice to me for the most part. I've heard them talk to other people with snippy attitudes, but I didn't judge because I don't know what has transpired before I arrived. So I will just stay in my lane with blinders on. Thank you very much. Pizza please. Awesome. Bye. Over all I would recommend. read more

Thin crust pizza is great. Word to the wise check your food before leaving, sometimes cooked longer than to a person liking. Call ahead for faster service. This place was very tasty! We wanted the 14" pizza special but with wings instead of bread sticks. The lady who took out order had no problem with this and was very friendly. The pizza and wings came out piping hot; very tasty. Pizza was so good that my husband and I ate the woke thing without any leftovers... (eeek) I could tell they were short-handed so that may explain customer service over the phone; in person they are extremely friendly! You won't be let down by eating here! read more

I've been going to Rico's for years and had considered it one of the top pizza places in Gary but after tonight I don't think I will ever eat there again. Let's start off by saying the pizza was beyond burnt and had no taste to it because of how crunchy the crust is and when asked for a refund we were told to bring the pizza back, but it was already missing slices. If I was able to give this place a rating lower than 0 I would. Period. read more

I got a cheese pizza with extra sauce, that's where the flavor is. Great flavor, lots of cheese . Missing oregano, but maybe that's what makes them a bit different. I will come again. read more

This place is so unprofessional.I ordered a pizza the driver delivered the pizza I gave him the money and a $2 off coupon he said the coupon was already taken out I explained to him it wasn't taken out and I showed him on the sheet stapled to the pizza.Closed my door a minute later he outside yelling give me my pizza back .I asked him for my money back and I gave him that pizza.I called RICO PIZZA and informed them on how unprofessional and ignorant their driver was.I will never order or eat at this ghetto pizza place again. read more

Horrible delivery. Use to order every other week with ok service. Today they showed up over 35 minutes early and called 5 times within 2 minutes and then left because the driver was not waiting. I will never order from this place again. Avoid them! They are extremely rude! read more

This is the most unprofessional ghetto pizza place in Gary. Takes them three hours to deliver a pizza. I'll never order from them again.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CONSIDERING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I spent five years working at House of Pizza in Hammond, IN, and I never heard of a situation like I experienced with Rico's tonight. I placed an order consisting of a large two topping, a medium cheese, and a cheese garlic bread just before 6pm. I was told that it would take 50min-1hr. At 7:35 I called to find out what the hold up was, and was told my order was already in route. 35 min later I found myself on the phone once again to see why 2 hrs had passed and I still hadn't received a knock on my door. After being placed on hold for several minutes I was told that the driver was down the street from me. When I finally got my order, I had to call once again to let them know I had been given breadsticks instead of cheese garlic bread. The woman on the phone told me that all they could do would be to have a driver come back out and exchange the breadsticks for my item. I agreed. Just after 9:00 pm I called to find out where my cheese garlic bread was, and a younger woman told me that she had just given them to the driver a few minutes ago. At 10:20 I called once again just to be told that my bread wasn't made yet. This has to be the most horribly run establishment ever. read more

This location is hit or miss. I've had a few problems there with my order being prepared wrong, or not at all (they forgot to make my pizza when I ordered it)....but sometimes it's decent. I am a much bigger fan of the original in Lansing but they are closed on Mondays. Tonight was the first time I had the pizza delivered, and it will be the last time. Took about an hour and a half, and when I opened the box the pizza had slid and was a mess with cheese all over. I had to reconstruct it and it just was terrible. They are very inconsistent with the crust and time they cook it. I always always order it 'well well done' and it never is cooked to the point of crispy crust. I usually end up throwing it in the oven when I get home to get it cooked the way I want. I'll order from them again because I grew up on Ricos pizza, but I will definitely not choose this location if I have a choice. read more
