Was looking for a place to stop and eat on a different route that I took. I looked this up on Yelp and found out that they served chicken gyros so I decided I would stop services great when I called I had to see if they were still open the cashier was very friendly and helpful the food was delicious and to feed three people completely full it was $31 which is not bad at all considering that's what McDonald's charges nowadays. I also love the fact that their chicken gyro was on the spit not just diced up chicken breast if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out. If you love chicken gyros this is definitely a place to go to their honey mustard is top tier too read more

I just left there the grilled chicken was like rubber I had a banana shake with it and it was going down slow so I asked for a courtesy cup of water she said we don't give out water its $1. Now im sitting eating in there and can't get no water. They gave me my food but not the shake I had to wait for them to teach the young lady to make it. The 1st time i went there was last Friday morning and they took our order but only had 1 cook had to wait half hour she could have told us it was a wait. And wouldn't give us a refund it was pretty crowded. They just lost me and I will be spreading this read more

The service was great! However the food was worst than McDonalds on a mid day. The portion sizes are great! You're just not getting good quality. The burger I also ordered was SUPER dry, even with condiments. (Mayo, ketchup, cheese, lettuce, tomato's, etc). Kind of tasted frozen. The gyro......nothing spectacular. You can get the same meal from Walmart for half less. Way too many onions and all of the sauce was sitting in the middle of the "burger". We waited about 10-8 mins for the food and everything came out cold. That does include the French fries. You're much better going to McDonald's and or read more

Portions is good but lack of flavor and the service is horrible. Lady tone her voice saying men's restroom is out of order. Thanks to the idiots ruined it. Probably won't go back and go somewhere else for better food and service. read more

Good, fast and hot! Great place with many delicious options. Love the chicken kabobs!

Been coming here for years.....never disappointed. Subs are good, tender tips and ribs, and the staff works hard to satisfy. A definite staple here in Hammond. read more

The food is always good, never had a bad experience and the staff is very nice and the Superman ice cream is great.

If you're desperate or on the verge of dying from starvation this is the place to go. Otherwise if you'd like to avoid the long wait, overpriced menu options, below average cook or maybe just some poor ingredients this would not be the place to go. read more

Good food we order there a lot! On the down side they get the orders wrong so check your food before driving home! If you return food or exchange they will make it into a smaller portion So yeah the customer pays for their mistake. Maybe better management on this place although their advertising reads EAT HERE! WONT BE HUNGRY FOR THE REAST OF THE DAY.. right.... read more

I used to love this place! I ate here at least once a week as its pretty much down the block from my house... then Covid hit and they just haven't bounced back. I see they have staffing issues and I feel like they are trying but I have yet to get a good meal since 2020. And I used to go there mainly for the 24hr breakfast menu as well as the convenience but its gone and I fear so will this restaurant soon. The gyro plate and their burgers were my go-to's and the omelets were my favs, order at your own risk, prices are high too, but so is everything now. read more

Food was okay but they falsely advertise on site that breakfast is available all day. That isn't true.

I love gyros. This place has pretty good spiced lamb meat. Customer service at this spot lacks though. If you're looking for service with a smiIe I advise you to go elsewhere. I don't think the attendant even saw me for the first five minutes of me standing in front of her. She did everything but take my order. The food is decent though. read more

Love this place best customer service I ever had Food is always hot and cooks really know what they are doing in the kitchen .

Best drive through food ever! Portions are huge, good value for the cost. Try it you won't be sorry.

Picked up a drive thru order. When I arrived at home I was very disappointed with the food I received. The hot dog was basically thrown in the bag and some sports peppers tossed in (I'm assuming they forgot to put them on the hot dog). I rarely ever order from here and this experience did nothing to entice me to order from here again. read more

Stopped by here on the way home from the airport. Visited the drive thru and the customer service was hasty. Cut us off before our order was quite finished and we had to tell her the additional items at the window. We had a medium sized order. I confirmed that she had heard we wanted the gyros plate (was gonna be shared) and she said she did. Upon arriving to our destination we found that we did not receive the gyros plate but just the normal sandwich, which is not enough to share. This was very disappointing. read more

This is an independent fast food place with a large range; if you want gyros, sandwiches, Polish or hot dogs, or ribs, you're covered. Ice cream and coffee-house style fancy cake also available (some with the original plastic dome packaging on them so you can read the ingredients). If you're a vegetarian, you're having the veggie sandwich, the grilled cheese or a Greek salad. I tried to order a gyro hold the meat and confused the person at the counter; ended up with the veggie sandwich (American and processed Swiss). I ordered it hold the American and hold the mayo; they got that half right. The "cheese poppers" are jalapenos filled with more processed cheese; they were obviously freshly fried but difficult to eat - I couldn't take a clean bite through the peppers. Perhaps with a knife and fork. My companions seemed happy with their food (ribs and a gyro) and the fries were good. I suspect the onion rings or any other fried food here would also be fine Interesting Greek-/Hollywood-themed decor and the Euro cup was on the television. read more

I've been eating here for about a year and everything I've ever gotten it was pretty good!

Love this place. Food always hot when I get my order. Love the French fries and hot dog!!!!

I've come here for just about 10 years unfortunately I will have to cut ties with how unprofessional and argumentative the older woman working there treated me. I remained calm yet she screamed and yelled at me despite me telling her that the issue was no one's fault. She then interrupted my phone conversation and began yelling again which was uncalled for and extremely rude. I was also asked to 'calm down' by the co-owner despite the fact the that woman was the one yelling which played into the 'angry black woman' stereotype. To say that I am hurt, disappointed, & upset in this business is an understatement. read more

This was a very random stop. Surprisingly enough the food was really good. A bit pricey... and don't follow instructions well, but....overall the food was Fresh, the combo submarine is fire. read more

The food was average at best but very cheaply priced. The staff is a little rude but nothing too bad. My issue is just after finishing my meal I have a baby roach crawling in front of me on the table. The restaurant looked a little dirty but really? Jerk of an owner, but at least the food is decent. They keep their old menu prices advertised online, and then when you get there the prices are jacked up at least $1.50 more. When brought to the owners attention, he said "what's the problem" and of course charged me the unadvertised new prices. Also, they forgot an item on a carry out, I drove all the way back there to get it. Unfortunately, he won't comp it, but the nice lady in drive thru offered to pay it. Of course, I wouldn't let her. I feel sorry for the staff, he treats them poorly and his customers worse. read more

Excellent meals served daily. Consistently providing quality gyros, beef, sausage, chicken, and burger options to their customers. I literally ate lunch here three times last week! Patty melt is good! Fries are always crispy outside, just mushy enough inside, and never cold! Beef sandwich is great! Same goes for the grilled chicken special! Never a bad idea to grab a bite at Zante's whenever I'm in Hessville! read more

Cheers to the small business owner! Good food, nice decor, plenty of parking, drive through fast, employees nice, bathrooms good...you can take your kids here... Prices are a little high, but they have affordable lunch specials... You pay for quality and that is what you get here... read more

Not sure what Zante's has such low ratings but for a local restaurant that sells American type fare food, what more could you want? The food is pretty good, especially the ribs. The sauce is beyond tasty and my daughter frequently orders this dish. If you're looking for a Chicago styled hot dog in Hammond, this is the place to go. I live up the street from this restaurant and we frequent there often. The food is above average and for a decent price. Being across the street from Morton High School, it gets pretty busy during the late afternoon. During the early afternoon hours, construction workers frequent there but you don't have to wait too long for your food. I've never had a problem and I recommend it if you're looking for good tasting fast food and you're tired of McDonalds and Burger King. read more

Very good food I have been coming here for years and will continue as long as the food is good they good hot dogs and gyros

Seriously, how hard is it to make a Corn Beef Sub with Mozzarella and pepperocini???? I've ordered this FOUR TIMES, and they have yet to get it right. This last time was the last straw. It had everything and NOTHING I asked for in it and all I wanted in it was TWO ingredients, sheesh. This one was extra oily, I ended up throwing it out. However, their gyros are fantastic and they really give you a lot. Luckily I found a sandwich shop called Super Submarine a few blocks away from Zantes and you really get your money's worth at half the price AND, they get it right EVERYTIME! read more
