TENDERS, MAC & CHEESE
Jazmin A.

We were in the neighborhood and stopped by Byrd's after seeing all of the other wonderful Yelp reviews for this place. We went on a random afternoon, there were a couple of other guests there. Our order was taken right away, staff was friendly. We both ended up getting the tenders combo, which was very filling. At first, we wondering if two tenders would be filling enough - but these tenders are huge!! You can taste the difference in them as well, as they are Halal. You taste the freshness right away. Anyway, the tenders combo comes with two tenders, toast, a nice portion of potato salad, fries, a sauce, and pickles. Ranch is extra. Drinks are 99 cents! My brother's only complaint is that he doesn't like his food touching and would've liked that the potato salad not touch the fries mentioning that for my fellow picky people. Back to the food. The tenders were super crispy, spice level was really good. Fries were also really crispy and fresh. Mac and cheese portion was also very big, it can definitely be shared or even just an entree if you add a tender on it. This is a nice addition to the community, although it is a chain restaurant, the quality is very high. The food is very noticeably fresh and it's not greasy or doesn't make you feel bad like other spots might. I recommend you give Byrd's a try!

First time here. Nice size space with plenty of seating inside and outside. Really like the decor and murals on the walls. Service was friendly and helpful. We got food to go, and everything was made correctly and fresh. Very good food. Would recommend.

Tiny chicken strip

I had 2 three piece chicken stip combos delivered. It was the smalls chicken ever. No sauce or pickles! You just send it the worst pieces to pieces for food delivery? Trash!

Two Tender Combo $12.99

$22 for 2 tenders, fries, potato salad, small drink & side of the fried green beans. My first time here - do not confuse this with Nashville Hot Chicken, as it's not the traditional flavor profile. It's good, but honestly the chicken tenders from Cane's are better!!! The 2 tender meal comes with fries (which rival Portillo's), a sauce they call 24K (a little bite to it), potato salad, the 2 tenders and you pick the heat...I chose "hot", and they are served on a thick slice of buttered Texas Toast (with a pickle on top of each tender). The issue I have is the to go order...since I got mine to go...the potato salad is thrown in the styrofoam container alongside the toast and fries - plus the potato salad was now warm. It may have tasted much better chilled and separated from everything else. The garlic toast could have been placed on top, but it wasn't so it was soggy and covered in potato salad. The tenders were okay - slightly on the small size for what I was paying ($12.99) for this combo meal. The drink was extra by the way - but I think it's only 99 cents. They have Pepsi products (and only Diet Pepsi) - no one carries the zero sugar soda anywhere?? The "Hot" level made me sweat a bit - and I can usually handle some hot stuff. But the real Nashville Hot Chicken isn't like this...so I don't think you should compare. Think of this as chicken tenders in various degrees of heat. And the chicken wasn't covered in a sauce or anything - it's like the breading contained the heat. I also tried the fried green beans. They are $6.99 and you get a TON of these. They were also okay. After eating a couple, I lost interest in them - nothing really WOWed me with these. I think they could have been thinner or crispier. There was a thick breading on them...which made them just flavorless. Service was fine and the restaurant itself is smaller; I also couldn't figure out how to order online to pick-up. You have to call at this time I think.

Two tenders (stacked), Texas toast, pickles, potato salad and fries.

This review is after two visits. It's tasty. Service is pleasant. First visit: I walked in but they were closed. The guy sold me 4 huge tenders for $10. It was tenders only but we wanted to try it. They were fresh and very crunchy. Great temperature and spicy (mild level). They offer 3 levels of heat. Three adult appetites shared this taster and were satisfied. 2nd visit We spent $15 per 2/piece tender. One came with fries only plus the Texas toast. The other was served with the same plus potato salad which is the default for the tender order. It's two adult meals per order in my opinion. We spent about $15 for the sandwich combo (spiciest heat). The person who ordered it canceled the slaw and loved it. The potato salad is ok. I'm very cultured so wasn't expecting too much. I'm not a fan of the sauce. It's expensive but everything is these days. This is a clean spot and nice choice when you're in the mood for heavily battered crispy chicken.

Chick'n Donut
Davin L.

Ordered the Chick'n Donut. Chicken was hot and tasty and the glazed donut was fresh and cut perfectly for the sandwich. A very generous portion of seasoned fries accompanied the order, and the side of 24 karat sauce made for a perfect dipping sauce alternative to just plain ketchup. Wanted to order a milkshake, but unfortunately their machine wasn't working, so that was disappointing. Still, not a bad experience at all compared to another local hot chicken place that shall go unnamed, but definitely room for improvement. Will be back for more.

Sandwich Combo, potato salad and Large Fries

The food was excellent. Kind service and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time.

Byrd bomb (mild)

Service was good and wait time was about 20 min for 4 meals because everything is made to order which I feel like more people should appreciate , it's not a drive thru. My family wasn't sure about the spice levels so we played it safe and went with mild which wasn't spicy at all but had great flavor but we definitely want to go back and try medium heat next time! Definitely would eat here any day over chick fil a. I hope this restaurant gets the recognition it deserves but for lazy folks I understand why you would rather go to chick fil a.

Amazing!

Delicious chicken and the crew back there are really sweet. Thanks for satisfying my pregnancy cravings! Oh! Also, really good potato salad!!!

As far as fried chicken spots this is the best. Better than Dave's. Very nice employees too.

Price: I'm not sure what would be considered "the average price" for tacos, but given the size and…read morehow much protein was packed into each taco, my partner and I were deeply satisfied with the amount of leftovers we had for a late dinner and the following day (We had orderd an 8-pack for $40ish, thinking the tacos were going to be relatively small). I will say - bring cash! The cashier taking orders advised me it would be significantly cheaper with cash. (I didn't ask how much the card fee would be, because I thankfully I cash on me anyways). Seating: limited, both inside and out. And the line literally never died when we were there, so it was extra crowded inside (the queue cuts right through the seating area, and those waiting for takeout have even less space to work with). We got lucky because we arrived right when another couple left their seats. In our 8-pack, we got three different protein options with plenty of consomme, but our opinions really differed on which was the best. My partner: 1) Surf & Turf 2) Al Pastor 3) Birria Me: 1) Al Pastor 2) Birria 3) Surf & Turf But overall, everything was too delicious to really matter. We wish we had something like this near us. (Also, because of the crowd, the food does take a bit of time to come out, but the wait is 100% worth it). Drinks: Strawberry Horchata ($5) & Fruit Punch Jarritos ($3.50) I originally really wanted the regular horchata, but they had just run out right when it was my turn to order (again, the line was nonstop). The flavor of the strawberry horchata took some getting used, but ultimately was an enjoyable drink to have with our meal (I do want to go back and try their regular horchata though).

We got the legendary Quesabirria Dinner--crispy, cheesy, slow-cooked beef perfection dunked…read morestraight into that rich, savory consommé. But the real showstopper? The Taco Michelin. Absolute flavor explosion. Washed it all down with the refreshing Horchata. Perfect comfort food! Reminder that this is a self-service restaurant. It has a small counter to order, sit wherever table is available and wait for your food. It is small, very casual and easily gets packed. Parking can be a challenge.
