What a nice surprise in a strip mall! We were staying in a hotel and looking for something good- thanks to YELP that led us here! Started with hummus and baba ghannoug. Potato soup then the mixed grill. All the meats were grilled to perfection, very tender and delicious. It also had tasty grilled vegetables and jasmine rice. Service was efficient and friendly. Interior very spacious. Highly recommend if you are in the area. They also have a store with Mediterranean foods!

I'm not sure how I have never written a review for here, but it is hands down one of my most favorite places to eat in the region. My family get takeout for me every time I come home because their shawarma and hummus are some of the best in the US, I'm not kidding, I have been doing extensive studies. Inside it's part grocery store and then part restaurant, and I always find the best spices for sale. Everyone who works here is always really nice, and everything is so clean. One day I'll for sure eat in the actual restaurant instead of getting just takeout.

We tried their weekend buffet, Sunday 1-9, (reservation recommended), which was phenomenal. The buffet had like 10 dishes, but all were equally delicious and beyond expectations. The lambs were tender, the rices were flavorful, the pastas were scrumptious. They provided pita breads on the tables which is really nice to eat with the soup, particularly the lentil soup. Only downside is the lack of beef dishes (there was only one with okra). The dessert section was a bit limited but they were amazing. 30$ for this halal buffet may seem much, but it's totally worth it.

When I walked in, I was a little weary. The restaurant is attached to a food market, but worry. This place is so good. The meat is well prepared, juicy, and seasoned well. The plate is big enough for 2. It also comes with your choice of lentil or cauliflower soup. I had the lentil soup and it was so good. It comes with a lemon, squeeze it on top and it's perfection. Sadly we are only passing through, but definitely worth the stop.

Beef Shawerma Sandwich

We happened to stop by and didn't expect this to be an absolute gem! The food is delicious and has super reasonable prices. The pita and soup appetizers were so good! I got the lentil which had great flavor and a kick, and my boyfriend got the potato which was creamy and nostalgic. We didn't think we would get anything included and were pleasantly surprised. We ended up getting kibbeh and falafel as well which were nice and crispy. We had to take those home though since we realized we ordered way too much food haha. I got the lunch special which was amazing! I loved the kebab the most as it has so many fragrant flavors in it. I felt pretty full half way through as all the food added up. My boyfriend got the beef shawarma sandwich and it was also so tasty! The waitresses were lovely and we had very good service here. The market was also great and our Palestinian friend was excited to see all his favorite groceries here. This is a must for anyone in the area! Super yummy, great prices, and just so worth the visit!

My grandfather is from the Middle East and we were able to take him out to lunch here as a family! I was so impressed by the quality of the food. There were 6 of us and we shared the Sultan Platter - this was MORE than enough food. They also confirmed that the falafel is gluten free. Also, a fair warning for those of you who enjoy pita bread, they are quick to refill the bread and you can easily fill up on the food before you even order your main meal!

Haven't been back in awhile. And today it was as good as I remembered it. Everything is delicious here. Today I tried the potato soup and it's so good. I still like their lentil but the potato was phenomenal and it's only available on Saturdays. The hummus and baba ganoush is especially my favorite.

Pickles and olives

Rare lamb chops with a cucumber salad, hummus, roasted tomato, onion and rice. The pita was extra and the pickles and olives are extra but worth it.

My favorite place to order lunch! Rarely ever disappoints. The chicken shawerma or beef shawerma bowls are my favorite.

The portions are large! One note this restaurant does not serve alcohol due to the owners are Muslim. The tea selection was unique. I tried the chai which was not too sweet! Service: if you do need any more food, the servers were constantly checking in on us. Ambiance: the restaurant is designed beautifully. The designs are heavily influenced by Mediterranean/Islamic motifs. They have plenty of seating for couples or large last minute groups too!

I think the owner may have been at the door that day and seemed a bit frazzled (understandable). Also, a sign that says please wait here to be seated. When we arrived we didn't know where to stand so we went to the other side of the front desk and were somewhat scolded and redirected to go back around and wait. It was pointed out there was another family waiting to be seated. Hmm. But it was a busy day so we let that go. Fortunately we didn't wait long to be seated. The waiter, although not to experienced, was trying hard and answered all our questions. When we placed our order we were informed several items were not available. Hmmm. It was still early in the day, how do you not have the items. We ordered humus. DELICIOUS!!! Spanish Octopus with white rice, combination plate with lamb, steak and chicken plus the white rice, and finally lamb chops with white rice. Problem the octopus was served first it had superb flavor and not rubbery at all. That was my son's meal. Then about 5 mins later came my meal, the combination which was deliciously seasoned and the chicken was moist!! Finally 5-10 mins later the waiter came and told my daughter that the kitchen failed to tell him there were no lamb chops. So disappointed. They apologize and she ordered the combination plate which came about 10 minutes later. Needless to say my son and I were done with our meal. Problem: initially when we got the hummus we ate it but had to drink water because our drinks didn't come till I got my meal. I reminded the waiter and he explained they had to make the drinks. habiscus water and a mint lemonade. Hmmm Problem: when my son got his octopus, he didn't get a knife and I had to give him my steak knife so he could cut his octopus legs. Finally when we got the bill, we were being charged for the lamb chops!!! Needless to say Al Bahar was recommended by Albawadi Grill waitress. And yes the food is terrific! Even the white rice makes my mouth water. But the service and consistency needs much improvement. Although the waiter apologized, at no time were we offered some type of compensation for all the inconveniences experienced. Not that it's required nor do I expect it but it would've been a nice gesture. The table next to us complained loudly and they were offered free food. We complained subtly and no type of courtesy was extended. Do I recommend. Yes for pick up order the food is scrumptious and No I do not recommend dine in experience. They have much to improve! Goto Al Bawadi instead!! Their food is delicious, the service is very friendly and the humus and fresh made pita unbelievably delicious!

I love Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food so I thought this would be a good choice, not too heavy or greasy so my stomach wouldn't be upset on the road trip. I wanted to try the crispy chicken advertised on the website (and also on the banners around the location) but when I got inside, they said they didn't have any so that was one strike. I ended up getting the chicken Shawarma. I wish there was the couscous was seasoned the way they do the basmati rice because plain couscous is kind of disappointing. The amount of chicken I got was a complete joke! And I'm not even a huge meat eater but to give someone 1.5 cups of couscous and seven or eight sliver bites of chicken is crazy. I need some protein to stay satisfied so I asked for more and of course they charged me $4 for a few more slivers. Highway robbery! But anyway, the onions were really good and the chicken that I did get was seasoned though, but I could make this better at home for 4 people and the same price. Something told me to walk away when they said they didn't have the crispy chicken but I didn't listen so I ended up spending just under $20 for a bowl of couscous with a sprinkle of chicken and got charged extra for hummus I guess this was better on the road than going to Taco Bell?
