Been going here for 20 something years and today was the last time. Called in an order they took it wrong so got home with wrong food. I called and explained they took the order wrong and the owner said the guy got 80 percent of it right I say 50 percent. Ordered a Philly, one steak taco, beef sandwich with cheese and 3 large fries. Received Philly , beef taco only cheese and 3 large fries. I was not charged for the beef I said ok I'll pay for that and they will exchange the taco. I give this place a two because the food tasted all right they don't know their menu it's advertised hard shell steak tacos for 259 that's what I wanted the guy says no they're 379 so then you have to wait for the digital menu to roll back around after I already placed an order for something else I ordered a Gyro sandwich and when I got it it only had sauce on half of the sandwich I asked him to put sauce on the other half he said that would be an extra charge I said I am only asking for sauce on the rest of the sandwich like it should've came they finally did it but it was a big ordeal probably won't go back read more

No. Just no. Friends don't let friends eat bad tacos. The place is divey and dirty but sometimes those places have really good food. This one does not. The Taco was saturated in oil, the meat lacked flavor and was covered in brown lettuce and a sad tomato. I'm trying to figure out the five star reviews. Do they know the owner? I love this place. Yes, there's another one in Highland. Yes, it's not a 'real' Mexican restaurant. However, the Mexican FOOD is real and it's delicious. I don't eat there (in the restaurant - usually there's music blasting which can be offputting) but I do pick up food to bring home on a fairly regular basis. It's always delicious. The only downside is if you ask for something simple like "no tomatoes". For some reason, they'll add them if you want them or not. If you have food allergies, definitely check your food before leaving. About 40% of the time my order is *slightly* wrong. A few times, they've forgotten to give me items for which I have paid. After years of being a loyal customer I will never eat at this place again. I bought a burrito over the weekend and discovered there was a long hair in my burrito after taking a bite. I took the burrito and the hair back to them to show them and asked for a refund. The lady at the counter took it back to the owner and she came back out and said he will not refund me. I asked to speak to him (the owner) and after a few minutes he came out and had an attitude and told me no refunds. He told me I was lying and that there was no hair and I told him why would I come all the way back here if there wasn't. We began to argue and he told me to get the fuck out. I. Tried a little bit of everything on the menu. The first thing was the fried pickles or fried out of oil level too low and they turned out soggy in too much cinnamon. The burnt and have a lot of smoke flavor to it had a lot of flavor to it taste it's on point. Rib tips tasted like they were in a warmer too long and were dried out. This place looks like a little dive, and yet it was amazing! I had the steak tacos and they were extremely tasty with the meat seasoned just right. My son had the beef sandwich, which he said was just how he likes it, sliced at the perfect thickness, so that it wasn't soggy. Another one of my son's had the double cheeseburger who said that it was delicious. Odd poster on the wall that advertised a gyro sandwich with French fries in it! They only complaint I have is that they can give you sour cream on the burrito, and be a little more generous with it. I believe that the owner is the same owner of the old Taco Castle in South Holland. Steak tacos and chicken burritos taste exactly the same. The hot sauce is killer!!
