The freshest, best Chicago Dog ever.
    David G.

Awesome food? Check. Great value? Check. Hard working immigrant owners who love America? Priceless. I had never stopped at Simon Sez before. Seems like I was always on the wrong side of 30, going east, and getting there just wasn't worth the trouble. Boy, was I wrong. It's worth it and more. This place is a hidden gem. I knew as soon as I approached the counter that I was talking to the owner. She exuded a pride that only a business owner would have. I told her that I wanted the best meal on the menu, and without hesitation she said, "That's either the Chicago Dog or the gyro." So, me and the party I was with split those menu items down the middle. So luckily, I was able to try both. The Chicago dog was the freshest I've ever had, which consequently makes it the best. Those toppings tasted as if they had been cut and chopped right after I ordered it. The side order of fries was hot and right out of the fryer. The gyro was a beast. Generous portions on the gyro and super tasty. The inside of the place is arguably dated but who cares? I'm here to eat great food, not for ambiance. And you are provided with great food. Add to that an owner who was genuinely interested in whether we liked our meals and you've got an easy five star from me. I don't get to the region that often but when I do I'm definitely going to be saying "Simon" again.

What a gem this place is. Ordered a gyro platter with fries for $9.42, which is enough for two meals. Meat is thinly sliced and fries are plentiful. Owners are Greek and very courteous. Menu has Greek, American and Mexican items at very good prices. Interior is decorated with pictures of old cars and motorcycles. This is a popular spot with bikers.

    Hamburger, hotdog, 2 fries

August 2021 - We have wanted to try this place for some time. I had a loaded hamburger and a small fry and my wife had a hotdog and small fry. The food was excellent! The hamburger was well prepared and the fries were hot. The prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive. The interior had a classic car theme. It looked like a retro diner and it was clean. I'm anxious to try several other items on the menu.

    Excellent gyros!

They fell short with the food buffet situation. Food was set up near stairway. Tables were set up across from each other and tables wrapped around the corner. The food was set up in the walkway which was very dark. It was difficult to see the food. I feel like they need to rethink the buffet set up. This was the same set up as last year's party. I have to say that there was plenty of food but, many of the party goers did not leave the bar.

This cute restaurant is located in Crown Point, IN, and it's best to use GPS to avoid getting lost. The venue is nice and perfect for photos, with plenty of space. The bar has a lively atmosphere, and the food is good, with large portions. I ordered the Classic Smashburger and substituted the protein for an Impossible Burger. I expected to receive two patties since I had to pay an additional $4.00. While it's my choice to be a pescatarian, I still think that an extra $4.00 for a single patty is excessive, both here and at any restaurant. This brought the price of my burger from $18.00 to $22.00, which reflects the current costs of dining out. Overall, our server was really nice and accommodating. She was patient with us as we decided on what to order and even shared her favorite dishes, which helped us make our decisions. The others in my party ordered a Mushroom & Swiss Smashburger and a Tuscan Turkey Sandwich. I must say, the turkey sandwich (Shaved Oven Roasted Turkey) had so much turkey on it that it could have fed us for Thanksgiving, but we weren't complaining! It was generous, and she happily took home the leftovers. The drink we had was blah, it had peach deep eddy's, elderflower liqueur (which I love), citrus and a few other ingredients. I'll pass on that the next time, I think it had too much elderflower and not enough peach. We all enjoyed our food and the ambiance of the restaurant. We will definitely return when we are in the area, and I will be sure to recommend this place to my friends who live nearby. I would also consider throwing a small b-day celebration upstairs in the lounge. Thank you, Culinary Misfits, for a great lunch!

Therefore, our Mother's Day dinner was an easy choice for once. Her favorite dish at Cooper's Hawk is the Shrimp & Scallop Risotto. She absolutely loves that dish! I have a few: The Shrimp & Scallop Risotto, The Jambalaya, and The Chicken Madiera (i. e. Chicken Marsala). Today, I ordered the Risotto, along with the Calamari and salads (Caesar for her, House for me). We also got Pretzel Bread. When sat I ordered a flight of wine, which then turned into the waitress offering taste samples. Never got the wine flight. Took forever to get the wine & only received one glass at a time. Then the sales for the Wine Club started, which my co-worker joined while we were there. The experience was all about the wine club, then our appetizers arrived.. Not HOT at all, ordered the Shrimp wrap with out cashews. Our shrimp wrap had cashews in it, I tried to pick them out.. I should have sent it all back, but we could not get our waitress attention. Needless to say, I was sick all night from the nuts. I was dining on a gift certificate, so I did not complain. If I was paying for this experience, I would have spoken up about so much....
