We returned....service was excellent. Her name was Pinky and she did a grest job. I had a philly cheesesteak and my sone his customary western burger. Food was great as always...moving them up a star for mich improved service.j'espère que vous passez un bon week-end

With the restrictions with COVID-19 we have been searching out different options. A co-worker suggested this place. What a great experience. Old fashioned drive in, so they take your order and bring it to your car. My husband had the chili which he enjoyed and I had their specialty burger which was delicious. I had the opportunity to meet the owner who was a really nice guy. Thanks for being there for us Chicagoans!

My son suggested this after I turned down White Castle. I'm glad that I stuck to my guns. The burger was pretty thick, about a 1/4 lb in size. They use brioche buns. The malt was thick, creamy, with a bit of an ice crunch - just the way I like it. I think that the patties are frozen, though. The shape was just too perfect, and it was kind of dry, like frozen patties tend to be. I spent $25 for two meals, including a large basket of fries. Just a little pricey, but ok for once in a while.

    Eggnog shake

Had a taste for a burger so we Decided to go to Blue Top drive in. Was greeted by a very friendly waitress. She asked where we liked to sit. She gave us the specials of the day, which happened to be holiday flavored shakes. We tried the eggnog shake. It was amazing, would highly recommend if you like eggnog. Burger was good.

Lots of counter stools open tonight

Unless you are coming to gawk at classic cars, do yourself a favor and don't come at all. After years of waiting for someone to buy the Blue Top and turn it around -- what a disappointment. Blue Top is a refurbished Diner/Drive-In. Guy Fieri would call it a dive, too, if he tasted the food. Fries are frozen, burgers probably are too. And if you order a Fried Egg Burger like I did, you might get a scrambled egg burger. Good lord. I can go to another new burger place (named after Michael Stivic, hint hint) and get a burger made with fresh meat and a FRIED egg for less. Other family members got mayo, mustard and ketchup on their sponges -- err, buns -- and they got SOGGY. Yuck. When the best part of a burger joint's meal is the fried zucchini stick, watch out. Like I said, go to gawk at cars but bring your own food. Ain't that a shame? My tears fall like rain. Blue Top's the one to blame.

It was busy but not packed as it was relatively early. We had to wait about 15 minutes before we got a booth in the main dining room. Our server was awesome, Linda! She was friendly and efficient! On top of her game! It's old school inside but the food and baked goods are delicious! My sandwich was good but I want to try them for breakfast. Hubby enjoyed his omelette! The food is great and home style prepared. It was nice to go back in time!

When it arrived, I cut it in half to check the temperature and found it was overcooked and served cold. I sent it back expecting a fresh remake, but I was returned the same burger, already cut in half. It was clearly reheated rather than remade. The top bun was steamed and soggy, while the bottom was wet and hard in places. The lettuce was hot and wilted, which would not happen with a freshly prepared burger. Based on the condition of the food and other reviews mentioning similar issues, it strongly suggests the burger was microwaved rather than properly remade. My partner ordered a medium-rare steak for his NY skillet, but it came out tough and overcooked, showing a lack of attention to basic temperature instructions. There was also an order error: the French toast was missing from his order and only brought out later after we flagged it and checked the receipt. Our waitress did apologize and offered to have the burger remade, but given the quality of the first attempt, I did not feel confident the kitchen would prepare it correctly on a second try, so I declined. Management ultimately adjusted the ticket to resolve the issue. When we paid, the host/cashier did not ask whether we enjoyed our meal, which added to the impression that customer experience was not a priority. The only positives were the sweet potato fries and the lemon rice soup. Overall, this visit fell far below acceptable standards in both food preparation and service. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I saw Kyle V's review and figured it was a good bet as I trust him! The parking lot is a little small but we found space and were welcomed in right away. The menu is massive with tons of options and customizations etc. so it was a little overwhelming, but I went with the melted pot skillet (ham, bacon, sausage, onions, American fries, cheese, and three eggs, served with toast). Nate got an omelette with cottage fries (fried sliced potato rounds) and silver dollar pancakes. The food came out super quickly and the portions were massive. We definitely could have shared one item, but I was pretty hungry. The skillet was very savory and cheesy, and the eggs were perfectly over-medium. I had a bit of Nate's pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. Four meals + tip was around $70 which I thought was very good especially given how much food we got. The menu also includes lots of lunch options, and check the specials board in front for features. Thanks, Kyle V!
