Extreme Hourly Rates (By Their Own Admission): Because this was a major front-end job involving struts and hubs on driveway jack stands, I asked for a first-morning slot to ensure proper daylight, rather than a late afternoon arrival window. In response, their dispatcher dismissed my concerns and put in writing that: "these are straightforward repairs... it would take a couple of hours, and that's true." Consider the math: If this is truly a 2-hour job, their labor quote represents an effective rate of $340 to $420 per hour for driveway labor in cash/Zelle. That is higher than exotic luxury dealership rates, done on residential concrete. He diagnosed the problem (which was not on the various "fixes" the dealer had suggested), and the repair was around $500. I'll take him over the dealer any day... Allen is a Master Technician, in other words, he is at the top of the food chain in terms of skill & knowledge. But the best part? He's honest! There were several things he found on my vehicle that he could have tried to "up-sell" me on, but he said "if it were my vehicle, I wouldn't do it. It can wait." I have had Allen do several repairs on both of my vehicles. I really like it when a mechanic is *thorough* but does not try to sell me on something I don't need.
