These people are fan friggin tastic. I stumbled upon them by accident after I seen ads for another place here in Springfield. Being a single women and in need of honest work I took my car to US Automotive. I walked into the wrong door and stood there for 5-7 mins as two guys worked on another car in their shop. After time passed, I asked them about making an appointment...they point and said "go through that door". The man behind the desk never even turned around to greet me...I made the appointment but did not keep it. Maybe if I was a "good ole boy" the service would have been better. After I left, I called Rick's and they said come on in...I did and WOW! I was treated like a valued customer the moment I walked in. : ) I asked if I could bring another car in for service ( I was very impressed and appreciative)...I was told "go get it ...I will hold your bill for you". I switched taking my cars to Rick's about 3 years ago. They have worked really hard to keep my old cars running and are able to tell when it's time to get a new vehicle even though it would have been to their advantage to keep on fixing them. They take time to answer my questions until I understand exactly what the situation is. They also respect when I decide to do something other than what they suggest. They are competent and qualified. In particular, Keith is the best thing since sliced bread. He has handled a number of my car issues and he is patient and competent. By the way, in looking at some of the reviews I just have to say that a few small parts that are forgotten are not a real reason to downgrade a rating. Also, if you really needed your car to be fixed sooner than later, you shouldn't be waiting until 3 business days before contacting Rick's. We were recently referred to Rick's Automotive by AAA when we had some major truck issues pulling our 36' fifth wheel. We were driving home from Branson in our F350 Ford dually diesel and didn't make it very far when we lost all power and found ourselves stranded on I-65. It took AAA a few hours to get the right tow truck to us and we were towed to Rick's. They were closed so we opted to stay in our RV overnight until they opened the next morning. Even though they already had a full schedule, Tim (fleet service/diesel manager) gave us priority service on our vehicle that morning. Even though there were several possibilities causing our mechanical breakdown, they were experts in diagnosing and repairing our truck in the most efficient time. We were greatly impressed with the customer service, communication, skill, efficiency & professionalism provided by Rick's Automotive. I have been dealing with Rick's for over ten years - since shortly after moving to the Springfield area and fumbling around trying to find a good, reliable automotive shop. I have never, repeat never had problem with Rick's. Everything I have had done from simple oil changes and tires to major transmission and engine problems have been fix right the first time. From the moment I sign in with Terry Farrow I am treated like a VIP; an important person, a customer. My problems are reviewed, the car is examined, and a valid price range is given along with an estimated completion time. As I live out of town, I usually sit and wait for my car. There has yet to be an occasion when the car wasn't delivered on time. I have just bought a new Honda Pilot, and whenever it needs service there is only one place I will go....Rick's Automotive. About a month ago, my car broke down. In the mean time, it has been with 4 different mechanics. One replaced my starter, another replaced my fuel pump, I paid labor and diagnostic fees. Almost 500 dollars put into my car, and it still wouldn't start. I took it to the dealership and they charged me $125.00, to tell me it was my computer module and that it would cost me $2,400.00 to repair. Someone told me to try Ricks Automotive. These guys Are Amazing! They worked hard on my car and on saving me money. They were able to fix my car for under a thousand dollars. I would of been able to save another $500.00 on unnecessary repairs if I had just taken it to them in the first place. I'm so happy to have my car again! I brought my 2004 Honda Civic in to see what was causing a weird sound underneath, sometimes even grabbing my steering wheel; they said the repair cost wouldn't be worth it for a 20-year old car, but for all the time they spent looking at it they charged me so little I made them take $100 for so much work. Sad others had bad experiences, but not me. I'm going in tomorrow-1/6, Epiphany! for a new[er] 2013 car inspection. Life is hard, deal with it instead of whining so much. Helpful hint: if God gives my life lemons, try to see it as an opportunity to make lemonade!!! I have been a customer at Rick's since they opened their doors some 30 or so years ago. As a single woman who knows nothing about cars except how to drive one, they have been so professional in servicing my various vehicles. I have never, ever felt taken advantage of. Are they cheap? NO! But why would you want to skimp on probably the second biggest financial investment you will make (first being your home). Some of their employees have been with Rick's for decades. I think that is a tribute to the facility and their abilities. I do know the technicians go through continual training to upgrade their skills. So, without a doubt, I would recommend Rick's Automotive for anything from an oil change to a new set of tires. read more

I want to give kudos to Rick's automotive in Springfield and their very friendly and accommodating Employees. On our drive back to Texas from Wisconsin, in our sprinter van, we started losing power near Springfield, Missouri. Upon doing some research, we came across Rick's automotive on Campbell Street in Springfield. It was 3 o'clock Friday afternoon and we were dead in the Water until the following Monday. After explaining our situation To Mica, he graciously squeezed us in to their very busy schedule. Bill, the technician took time off from his work and did a diagnostic evaluation. and by the end of that afternoon, we were on the road again with everything working just fine. I'm very happy with Rick's Automotive. Before making an appointment with Rick's I had called 2 other shops. Neither would discuss the cost of replacing my alternator. Rick's adviser had no problem giving me an estimate to replace an alternator on my 2006 Ford Focus. When giving me the estimate the adviser informed me that they would diagnose the alternator before replacing it. They called me and confirmed that yes that was the problem. They did an Excellent Job and had my vehicle ready when promised. They do great follow up and signed me with Carfax Car Care, with which I receive service suggestions. A great big THANK YOU to David and Alan who saved our day! While on vacation from Florida, we made a day trip to Bass Pro Shop in Springfield while staying in Branson, MO. At the end of a long day in the store we came out to find that nothing in our car worked. An employee in Bass Pro Shop called Rick's. David came over really fast and jump started the car, then escorted us to Rick's. Alan checked out the car and found that our battery had gone dead, but was already recharged so nothing need to be replaced. When we asked for the bill, Alan gave us a pleasant surprise -- no charge! Was given a referral to Rick's for suspension work that was needed on my Infiniti QX80. They provided me a quote and explained everything very well. After the work was done, there was an ongoing issue with the suspension. When I reached out to them and expressed my concerns, they took the car back and stayed with it until they were able to resolve the issue. I was very pleased with how much effort they put forth in being sure the issue was resolved and that I was satisfied. They have very good customer service. Ricks is one of only two places I will take my car in a 200 mile radius. Great competitive prices and great customer service. My wife and I's work schedules are long and I never get to go anywhere to have anything done during business hours. Ricks did me a solid and came to my work and got my car, and left me a vehicle to used in case of an emergency. Brought my car back when it was done. They told me of another possible issue I might need to look into. They didnt charge me for anything extra and do it without my consent (has happened at other places......) Great place!!! read more

Rick's automotive is great. I was in a bind on a Friday afternoon before the holiday weekend and Rick's did everything in their power to help me out. I'm not sure how they did it, but they had me on the road by 5 pm. Regardless of their quick service they also do great work and really know what they are talking about. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The waiting area is clean, modern, smells clean, and there are hot beverages and of course magazine for you. The atmosphere is nicer than many doctors offices! Not only that they will take you to your job or back home; then pick you up after your car is ready - FREE of charge! My most recent trip I had to have an A/C toggle switch fixed, along with an oil change; to my surprise, I was NOT charged for the toggle switch repair! They were extremely kind, and caring. I have done a lot of business with Rick's over the past several years. They make it extremely convenient by picking up my vehicle from (and returning to) my place of employment (Mercy). They always do a great job and NEVER try to sell me something I don't need. One time they discovered a repair was under warranty, and they actually offered to take the vehicle to the dealer. our sprinter rv was having electrical issues and we were referred to Ricks by the Freightliner people. we were traveling back to NY from Arizona and Mika, the service manager was able to get it looked at right away on a Friday. the lead mechanic Bill knew exactly what he was doing and after doing the analysis he figured there was a bare wire grounding and sure enough in a very short time found it. protected it from happening again and we were on our way. I would like to praise two of your employees that gave me great customer service. Ben was my mechanic who alerted me to repairs that should be made under warranty. After dealing with the local GMC dealership with no resolution, Micha (spelling) contacted the local dealership and advise me on how to proceed with a complaint against GMC.
