Disappointing Experience at Ricketts World Famous Chicken My recent visit to Ricketts World Famous Chicken on 2/11/24 left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, I could tell something was amiss. The first red flag was the old, stale smell that seemed to permeate the air, hinting that perhaps the oil they used to fry their chicken had seen better days. Speaking of the chicken, it was a major letdown. The pieces looked like they had been fried in oil that had been used one too many times, resulting in a lackluster appearance and taste. There was no flavor and even the crispy exterior failed to make up for the blandness within. To add insult to injury, the bread served alongside the bread was hard as a rock, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. The fried catfish was equally disappointing, lacking any discernible flavor or freshness. The fries were another letdown. They were plain and devoid of any salt, making them taste like cardboard. To make matters worse, their credit card machine was down, and instead of handling the situation professionally, they had hastily written signs on the door proclaiming "cash only." This left many customers frustrated, especially those who had placed orders online and paid, only to find out upon arrival that their orders could not be fulfilled. Overall, my experience at Ricketts World Famous Chicken was extremely disappointing. The lack of flavor, poor quality of food, and unprofessional handling of payment issues left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm writing this review to express my absolute delight with my recent experience at your restaurant. I was referred by a chef friend of mine, and let me tell you, they were absolutely right - I need to tell everyone to run, not walk, to Ricketts! I ordered the rib tips with 3 wings and mac & cheese, and while there was a bit of a wait since I ordered in person, it was more than worth it. The lady at the front was incredibly kind and even gave me a complimentary lemonade while I waited, which was a wonderful gesture. And let me tell you about the food! It was simply finger-licking good! Everything was perfect. The meat, from the tips to the wings, was so flavorful and mouthwatering. I don't know what the "old man in the back" is doing to that food, but please, whatever it is, keep doing it! It's magical. That lemonade, by the way, was something else entirely! I swear it has some kind of addictive quality to it. Please be careful, I almost went back immediately for another one! Seeing another customer, an older Black woman, pick up four slices of sweet potato pie convinced me to try it, and I'm so glad I did. I figured if she was buying that many, it had to be good, and I was right. You don't see many older Black women eating just anyone's baked goods, and I knew it had to be special. Overall, my experience at Ricketts was fantastic. The food was exceptional, the service was warm and welcoming, and I will absolutely be returning whenever I need my BBQ fix. Rickettes World Famous Chicken & Bar-B-Q is the real deal. I stopped in for lunch and was immediately impressed, not just by the food but by the entire experience. The staff was friendly, offering excellent customer service, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable. But the star of the show was the food. This was a huge disappointment and a never again. The ribs weee over cooked and hard to bite into. Seems like they are sitting in an oven to stay hot but over cooking and drying them out. Too tough.....The ambiance is just an old trailer that needs work and more appeal. Never again

Honestly if you think about it 30 wings two orders of fries and drinks for 34 dollars can't beat that. PROS: *Great Customer Service/staff super friendly * The Wings we're fresh and Hot as were the fries since everything is made to order. * The Ghetto Lemonade was literally the best lemonade I've ever tasted I may have diabetes now * The size of the wings were extraordinary.
