First visit to Rickettes and I really enjoyed the food. The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce was like the cherry on top..Loved the Chicago themed music also.

Rib Tip, Wing & Link Combo, Roll, and Extra Mild Sauce on it. It doesn't look like extra mild sauce. I'll just get a cup of sauce to go.

Food was really good. I did go at the end of the night. Got there about 8p so wasn't surprised that the chicken wasn't cooked fresh. It was still good with good flavor. I got the tip, link and wing combo. It was a good amount. I ate on it for 2 days. The only reason I gave 4 stars was that I asked for extra sauce, and I paid for it. However, it didn't appear to be extra sauce. I'm from Chicago and familiar with the brand, as I've had it plenty of times in Chicago. Just felt like it should have been drenched in sauce in true Chicago style. This is my go to spot for bbq in Atlanta. It's a 30 minute drive, but worth it! Also, I received one roll for all that food. That's insane! Service was pretty good. A little hood in the area. But, no big deal, mind my business, watch everyone and in and out! To go spot. No dining whatsoever.

This place is nothing short of amazing! I stopped by right before closing and they food was fresh, the owner and cashier were both pleasant they even allowed me to sample their turkey tips I'm definitely ordering next time. They need a location in the city so everyone could experience all their greatness. Most importantly their customer service is top notch‼ will be supporting this family owned business

I woke up Saturday wanting barbecue. I don't know why but I thought about this place instantly. I had been wanting to try out this place after seeing them on Instagram. The place is in Greenbriar Parkway literally 2 miles away from my location. Luckily for me they were on Uber Eats. Yes! I ordered a Rib tips & Wings Combo $18.50. 3 wings, Tips, fries and rolls. Mild Sauce and Barbecue Sauce on the side. The food container is completely wrapped in heavy duty foil to avoid a mess. They included napkins and fork. Thank you because most businesses do not include utensils for take out. The wings were well seasoned not overly salty and very crispy. They were so good. It reminded me of Philly style chicken wings. The rib tips were meaty. Not super tender and not super tough. That was good for me because I like my ribs kind of chewy. I also could tell they were smoke in a grill not oven baked. Real barbecue. The bbq sauces were so good, you could just continuously dip or pour it on your food not to mention licking your fingers. Food was enjoyable. I will return.

I've had Rickettes bookmarked for a while after seeing it on IG so when I was near the area on Sunday I decided to check it out. The restaurant is take out only. The lady who took my order was friendly and gave me some recommendations especially for the sauce. I ordered the turkey tips & wing combo that comes with fries. I told them to put light sauce on the wings & the turkey. No sauce on the fries. I also ordered a side of green beans since they were out of the mixed greens. When I got my order the container was wrapped in foil to keep the sauce from spilling out. It also helped keep the food warm. I had over a 30min drive to my house. The sauce was good, but it was a little too much for me. I would have preferred to only have it on the turkey & not on the wings. Next time I'll definitely get it on the side. The wings & fries were good.

As a Chicago native I'm always excited to try places that have food from my hometown. I was referred here from another ChiTown native for a good place to grab bbq. We ordered Turkey Rib tips , Italian beef, Mac and cheese, with greens. The Turkey rib tips changed my whole perspective on BBQ! It was that good! Come with fries and a roll. If they wanted the real Chicago touch it would've been two slices of bread. Lol, but still good nonetheless. The Italian beef is was just ok. Typically when you order an Italian beef from any place that sells it, you have the option for the au jus (dip) on the side. This place has to dip it since they don't have styrofoam, which essentially made the sandwich very soggy. The sides were very delicious! The greens with turkey meat was my absolute favorite. I took a star off cause the menu was just so extensive, and the cashier had no idea what anything was. It happens. Also took the star off because the sandwich was soggy, although the flavors were good. I'd definitely come here again, and recommend it to anyone who wants good Chicago bbq!

Parked right in front went in spoke with a lady and a man (presumed to be owner) couldn't have been nicer people. Never seen or thought of turkey tips but without hesitation ordered and was able to try a sample To ensure I was pleased. I got the turkey tips and wings with fries which were all amazing. The sauce is really a hit although not much is needed, it definitely takes to the flavor overboard. Looking forward to trying them again soon.

Service here is very friendly. The cleanliness is also impressive. We ordered the Chicken and Fish. Disappointed because we were told it would be catfish, and it was definitely not. The chicken was fried well and had a great flavor(did notice the grease flavor was a little less than fresh). Will return to try the Turkey Leg!

I've seen this place walked by... Smelled the aromas coming out of this place and saw the reasonably priced combos on the window.. I said I must definitely give it a try. So today was the day .. a Saturday afternoon around 4pm.. man the parking lot was booming.. parking is somewhat limited bc there are other food spots in the same strip plaza. .... .... Luckily I found a spot across the parking lot bc I was on my way out if I couldn't find a spot. .... .... Take out only. When I went I was able to place my order right away. Unsure of what I wanted.. I asked the lady that greeted me with a smile.. what do people normally get.. she said wings. I opted for the 4 bone rib with 2sides and comes with a "Pop' . I choose Mac n cheese . It was good had a good flavor. Second side was fried okra.. man the portion was so big. I had leftovers. The ribs were seasoned well I really didn't need the sauce ( I got that on the side.. it was sweet and tangy . Good) Reason for 4 stars. The ribs were not fall off the bone tender but they were good and I'd give them another try. (Key to tender ribs slow cooking) I didn't try any of the desserts they had in the case. See video to view the sweets. If you are in the Greenbriar area.. they are in the plaza in front of Kroger.

Lol The chicken 5 star The service 5 star The RIB TIPS U HAVE BEEN WANTING The Italian Beef is BEEFING The Sauce taste EXACTLY like Chicago This is legit an Answered Prayer. How they lost 1 star...the wait time is a REAL 20-25 mins. But when you are making perfection. I suppose it takes time. I will definitely return. It was impressively FRESH and just Delicious

Fried Chicken & Fried Catfish
Chucky B.

The chicken was on point and the service was great. I got the catfish and fried chicken. I know a lot of people don't care for catfish, but I enjoy it. I got the greens as a side, but those are way too salty. I couldn't eat that. But I also never eat with salt except for on popcorn. But overall. I will be back. I enjoy my meal.

4 piece dark chicken with fries and a roll and drink sauce on side. Smoked half bbq chicken I took to lunch for work the next day.

Atlanta has very few traditions left, caught as it is under the churn of constant change of…read morebusinesses, including restaurants. One of the more enduring has been Fat Matt's Rib Shack, located north of Piedmont Park in an old donut shop. This place is not without controversy, though, as it technically cannot be called a barbecue joint proper due to the different way their meats are prepared. Charcoal takes the place of the orthodox hickory logs here, and for some, that is a disqualification from serious consideration. I say, (expletive) that prissy purism and enjoy some ribs! Think about it: Memphis' Charles Vergos' Rendezvous also uses charcoal, and some people think their ribs are among the best on earth. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. I was so determined to get to Fat Matt's on a recent trip that I sat in traffic and went via detours to the establishment, well out of my way to my ultimate destination. It was worth the aggravation. For about $20-25, one can have a good-sized dinner of charcoal-and-sauce ribs, a side item, and a beverage. The ribs are grilled a slab at a time, slathered in Fat Matt's trademark hot-ish sauce, first to get it cooked, then to finish it when you order. Since I came at an off hour, I got my food pretty quickly. And it did not disappoint. These spares are meaty enough to give a good chew (NOT "fall off the bone" soft like some others), suffused with the sauce. But if that's not enough for you, a small cup of additional sauce is provided with each order. Round that out with sides such as collard greens (my choice), macaroni and cheese, rum-spiked baked beans, and Brunswick stew, along with a couple slices of white bread for sopping (or sandwiches, if one has the patience for it) and a beer or iced tea or Coke, and you have a memorable meal. But that's only half the charm of Fat Matt's. For at night, the place doubles as a blues music club, featuring local talent. Memorabilia and assorted ephemera from that genre of music adorn the walls of the establishment. Most noteworthy is a mural rendition of Mount Rushmore with faces of prominent bluesmen etched into the drawing. That provides the backdrop for a small stage where guitarists, keyboardists, bassists, and drummers hone their chops each and every night, providing an added attraction to the food. It is one of only three in-town blues clubs that are well-known to the larger public. The place is small, and parking can be pretty scarce, so arrive early if you can. Since the music starts early, you won't miss a whole lot if you do not come out or stay late. This is perfect for people 30 and over who don't have the energy to hang out all night.
