I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that completely ignores its customers, it's quite astonishing at first but after about 20 minutes of hunger with no progress it feels as though maybe you're invisible. To say the service was the worse I had ever experienced is an understatement but then when the food arrived after the long exhaustive wait, we were all very disappointed in everything from the temperature of the food to the missing items. I think the potential is there for the place to be good but with the current wait staff playing games on their phones and maybe one person who actually works there's no way for this place to be anything but terrible. read more

Salsa was good. Gravy was from a can. Quick in and out. The service was great. CFS was cheap and over cooked

Service was non existent. We were told to sit anywhere and we chose a booth right by the door. And we sat, and we sat and we sat. No one offered us water, menu or even any recognition. I tried waving down two different waitresses who just couldn't seem to see us. People came in after us and they were served. We sat there about 20 minutes before getting up and leaving. Still no recognition that we were ever there, waiting or walking out. read more

Read about the chicken fried steak but was disappointed. Steak was dry ie overcooked or been on the grill too long. Very little gravy , the hasbrowns were not cooked long enough and finally the toast was not toast...warmed bread. read more

Tried this restaurant this morning for breakfast! Food was prepared exactly as ordered and tasted great! Mom had their sausage gravy and biscuits and she said it was delicious! Service was excellent! Friendly staff and very attentive to customers! Met the owner, Rick! He's very nice and very grateful to people coming in and trying them out. Highly recommend this place for breakfast! A gem in the foothills. So glad we went for dinner tonight. Have always enjoyed their breakfast and lunch. Tonight I had their meatloaf....not just your regular meatloaf...starts with the meat on top of a piece of Texas toast. Then covered with mashed potatoes, brown gravy and mushrooms. If you live within 10 miles of the Foothill Bl exit and this place isn't your regular breakfast/lunch spot, you're going to the wrong place. We just stopped on the way through to Buckeye. A nice breakfast in a noisy environment. This is a place where the hard of hearing go to yell and guffaw and the wait staff is both friendly and boisterous. A good place for Sunday breakfast in a roadside Cafe setting. Nothing fancy, but you can count on pallettable food served in the clamor of the hearing impaired snowbird set. I would give less I there was that choice. Ordered a pie on Tuesday , was asked by cook when I wanted it. Told here I'm in no hurry and to call when it was done. Paid for it and left. Got a call from the owner on Friday around 9:40 AM wanting to know why I had not picked up the pie. Told her about talk with cook. She then told me the rule was you order it one day and after 11:00 AM the next it would be ready. My wife could her yelling three rooms away. She was yelling as she was in a noisy kitchen . Not very professional . Today I go in around 12:30 PM and order the special , steak and eggs. Asked for medium rare got almost well done . Waitress asked if I wanted them to redo the order. Told her not to as thought since it was about a 1/4" thick I'd get the same . After I was served I never saw the waitress again, no refills. Ate the eggs. Another waitress took my plate without asking if something was wrong. How many folks order a steak and not eat it. Went to settle my bill as they wanted to charge for full breakfast. Told them there was a fresh pie on my table and to use that to recoup their loss. read more

Having the weekend eggs benny. The hollandaise sauce is the best I've had in years. It is so smooth, lemony and buttery. The eggs are perfectly poached. A bit skimpy on the Canadian bacon but at least it's not full of nitrates. The servers are quick and friendly. read more

From the moment we walked in (during the breakfast rush, no less) we received excellent service. Waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly, hot and fresh. Simple, comfy, American breakfast cuisine. Excellent crispy hash browns, fluffy eggs and buttery breads. The homemade salsa is top notch if not unexpectedly good!! We stopped on our way home from California because our dog was with us and we saw that there was a patio. We knew it was hot, but it didn't seem that bad however once we sat down we realized it was way to hot to eat outside. A really nice gentleman that was working offered us water for our girl, and wasn't irritated when we changed our minds and got the food to go. We ended up eating it on the road and it was still delicious! We will definitely be back, either in the winter or without the dog! We had a patty melt and the Ruben...would definitely order again.
