Took my car in for an oil change on 09/26/2025 since they had a special deal going on. Then tried to sell me on $600+ worth of stuff.(appreciate the hustle) but no thanks. After getting the oil change and got home my check engine light turned on and has stayed on plus having weird hiccups with my car. So I go back in a few days later and see what they can do. An hour later they tell me it's gonna cost me $200 to run some checks. And that's probably before they figure out a solution. I don't recommend going here. Over the course of approximately 45 days I will outline my experiences at Rich's Auto Tech, I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited, 130K on it. I went there because the front end was wearing out tires. I expressed concerns about a leaking radiator hose, possibly need A/C re-charged, possibly replace serpentine belt, flush radiator, some play in the steering wheel. They suggested a "used car" inspection in order to pinpoint issue, to which I agreed. $120, which at the time I felt was reasonable. The result: Brake fluid needs to be flushed/replaced. I agreed to this. Rear Rotors need to be replaced. I agreed to this. A part in the steering wheel needed to be replaced, to this I agreed. CV joints need to be replaced. I agreed to this. "Radiator replaced, due to hose leak. I agreed to this. After replacement began running "hot"?? Thermostat needs to be replaced. I agreed to this. No coolant leak noted despite my concern?? A/C is good, so they say?? At the end of the day, I spent a little over 2K, had to go back because of a noise from the rear end and none of the steering wheel electronic buttons working. Apparently this was a lack of after the job quality control, OK, not an issue at this time. After a week, I go back, coolant still leaking, but keep in mind, I'm 1st owner, never had a radiator issue or over heat issue in 15 years. I go back and they determine a hose connected to the radiator is leaking, will replace the radiator to the tune of $625, I wait it gets done, I drive away and within 5 minutes running hot, take it back, I inform them that overheating has never been an issue and was not noted in the Richs Auto "USED CAR INSPECTION" to which I paid over a $100?? They had no answer to that. They then replaced the thermostat; they stated the old one was bad, replaced to the tune of $180. I drive away, within 5 minutes overheats again, take it back, they inform me it must be bad water pump, they replace it, I'm well over 3K at this point. They come back to tell me that I have a cracked block and should replace the old motor with a used one to the tune of an additional 6K. I'm dumbfounded at this point and feel as though I have been taken advantage of at the very least. I highly recommend you avoid this business at all costs, go somewhere else. I went to Richs Auto Tech on 4 occasions in 45 days, I waited 4-6 hours at each appointment, 3 of which I had to UBER home, they had no one available to take me home. The technicians typically rolled in when they felt like it, Rich's Auto were not good at keeping you informed, instead you had to repeatedly call or go by. I go in with a front end issue, spend 3K, and walk out with a vehicle that is no longer drivable. I'm doing a "Dragnet" Joe Friday here, just the facts, I will let you decide If I got screwed, little doubt on my side. I had no issues with Cody, but there was a heavy set guy, bearded and balding who on several occasions was rude when queried about what was happening to my vehicle. They day I went there to pick up my keys in order move the vehicle outside their lot so I could have 3K in repairs send the auto to a Junk Yard, as I walked out, he said "have a nice weekend", I thought this was rude and belittling, I said "yeah whatever" as I walked out, at which point this same person said in a loud harsh voice asking me "so you have a problem", I didn't respond, instead I walked out, NEVER AGAIN. If i could give them a negative it would be -10. Update: They sent me a Richs Auto Tech $20 gift card, anyone want it? ROLFMAO. read more

BEWARE!!! RUN AWAY FAST!!!! I'd give a zero star if it was an option! LIARS, THEIVES AND DO NOT DO THE WORK THEY WERE HIRED TO DO! I know its long but believe me you need to hear this detailed experience of poor customer service before taking your car there. My sons vehicle had the engine light on for what reasons that we knew 100% what needed to be done, since we had this exact issue before. I called their shop on June 2nd and told them exactly what needed to be done to be done, the crank shaft positioning sensor and a new a/c compressor, that we needed this done asap due to my son not having any other means to get back in forth. My son brought his car in on June 3rd, they guaranteed they could have it done in 2 days. 16 phone calls, 18 text messages and exactly 1 month later we FINALLY got the car back (July 3rd), without either of the 2 things I requested be done worked on. First, being the compressor not changed. July 7th I went to Florida and found the a/c not working, thinking they had replaced it, I called on July 9th and spoke with Sam, he said bring the car in and they could fix it. I was there within a half hour. Once there I was told I had to pay another $589 if I wanted it fixed. Nope, not happening I told them I had already paid them to do it and they didn't. They refused to fix the a/c and told me to leave when I became upset with them. Second, the crank shaft positioning sensor. They took advantage of a young college kid and his worried mother who lives 1200 miles away! They had me convinced that the timing chain was the issue, I paid almost $2400 to have it replaced since they took until June 19th (17 days later) to contact the warranty company. They claimed there were 7 codes according to Cody, the warranty adjuster was there on June 21st and found only 2 codes were validated codes, one being the crank shaft positioning sensor that I requested be changed. 2 and a half months later the sensor is not working again. I called and spoke with Cody, who told me they did NOT replace the sensor and then tried saying the warranty company never had an adjuster there so I wouldn't know what needed fixed, mind you I have a text message from them stating an adjuster was coming out, Cody said I was lying about the adjuster and codes findings, and the warranty company lied to me about someone being there. See attached text message showing proof from Rich's stating when the adjuster was scheduled to arrive) Cody, the fowl-mouthed manager, got very snarky, rude and unprofessional with me about my reasoning for paying out of pocket for repairs instead of using the warranty company. He claimed it was because we didn't maintain the vehicle and couldn't provide receipts for oil changes. Yes, the engine had sludge in it, its an 11 year old car with 120,000 miles on it! That is why I agreed to having an oil flushing done to it, you know because I maintain my vehicles and if the engine is being opened then of course I would want it cleaned out and looking and performing new again. Also, my child and car had only been in Florida for 10 months in which I had 2 oil change receipts for. Prior to that we did our own oil changes at home and regularly. I choose to pay out of pocket because we needed the darn car back and needed it now so I paid it instead of waiting even longer for the warranty company to push it thru. We couldn't wait any longer for the car. They shafted me, I get it that and accept my fault for trusting that they would be honest, decent human beings. My lesson learned and hopefully yours as well by reading this and staying away from this crooked company! A dreadful experience. Incompetent and dishonest. Drove my car in for relatively simple repairs which should take 2-3 days in shop. After 36 days, Rich's hadn't finish repairs and couldn't even get the car started. I paid them $1,482 to get my car out of there. I had it towed ($200) to another shop who fixed it in 2-1/2 hours ($305). Cody, the manager was rude and condescending several times when I asked about why it was taking so long to repair. Rich's Auto Tech has done both repairs and oil changes on my 2007 Audi. I am comfortable taking my car there rather than the dealership because the techs at Rich's always do quality work and check to see if I want Audi or after market parts if anything is needed. The staff are always friendly when I drop the car off and go over everything with me when I pick the car up. Further, there have been times when I thought I needed something replaced and their techs determined replacement was not needed, saving me money in all cases. It is easy to see why Rich's Auto Tech has been in business for so many years and continues to grow. read more

Well we're do I start! First, don't leave your car here for repairs as there service is unreliable and filled with empty promises. Had a knocking noise in the front my truck and they were going to check it out. Day 1...well check into it. Day 2...we think we found it. Day 3...didn't get to it. Day 4...spoke with manager (Cody) explained and we'll get to it Day 5. Get truck back but as leaving hear noise near brake and still knocking noise when turning wheel... carried back to have tech do test drive as they said they test drove and didn't hear anything. As driving tech, knew what happened as a now ex-employee worked on that side and didn't fix right. But leave on Monday and I'll fix it by end of day. So, left truck on Day 6 and no truck fixed. I'm now on Day 7 and saw truck still sitting in parking lot - it there still looking into it. Well, how can you be working on it while sitting in the parking lot? Of course, there will be some excuse as I've heard the last few days. Wow, you can try your luck here if you want. Rich and Cody are awesome! I take all my cars there. They have been extremely helpful and always giving me a full report of my vehicles and what is going on with them. I like that they give me options and not just your car is broke and you need to fix it. They actually take the time to advise me on a schedule to fix them and what should be done immediately. AWFUL ... we were given a hard quote of $1,062 by Jay to swap our old engine with a new engine. We ordered the engine ourselves. When we called back to schedule, another man named Cody told us the quote was wrong, Jay made a mistake and they shouldn't have to make good on their quote. He added $700 to the original quote and continued to argue with me. Would NOT recommend this shop due to the lack of character. Are there no trustworthy business owners anymore? My a/c would only blow air down to the floor area on my 2015 Chevy Equinox. I could not get it to switch upward to the face vents. I have CarMax Maxcare and chose Rich's Auto Technology Service because of their location and reviews on the website. I called and made an appt. They were able to get me in the next day. I arrived 8 am and dropped off car, gentleman at the front desk said the'll get a diagnosis and call me back. I called my warranty company to arrange my rental car nearby. By 3pm I hadn't heard anything so I called and they said, oh yes it needs a ventilation door so they ordered one and should be in tomorrow. Warranty company said they received a claim from the shop and would process it. Next day (Friday) I got a text message that my car was ready for pick up, which was great because I would be able to have it for the weekend and get my work done. Arrived at the shop to pick up my car, while getting the forms ready at the front desk the phone rang and I was put on hold and the person on the phone was taken. (Put ahead of me), so I stood there and waited while he answered all the questions of the person on the phone. (Why do some businesses do that?? Put them on hold). I didn't mention anything, he's very nice man. I was given my keys and my receipt, warranty took care of everything but my deductible. Got in my car and was greeted with air in my face! I brought my car in for a diagnostic and I inquired on when the car would be ready as I had to work and plan on when I could pick up around my work schedule. I was only told Thursday morning at 8am that my car was ready for pickup by 6pm same day and I was left scrambling having to call and cancel things at work and lose money in order to pick up my car by their deadline or I'd be stuck paying the cost of the rental car longer. All I needed was at least 24 hour notice, not same day for me to plan accordingly and they made a stressful situation more stressful. read more

Rich's Auto Technology in Melbourne- DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC!! I'm filing a small claims court case against them for negligence. I was having an intermittent airflow problem with my car air-conditioner. They said it was the climate control panel and replaced it for $600.00. It didn't fix the problem so I brought it back to them two times. Both times they said my air was fine. The issue continued and I took it back a third time and asked them to drive it to recreate the problem. They did, and said I needed an expansion valve. I went to pick up the car and they told me it did not fix the problem, but they made me pay another $330.00! They said if I did not pay it they would not give me my car back. At this point, they said I needed a new compressor, and that would cost an additional $978.00. I took it to another mechanic and the only thing that was wrong with my car was the cabin air filter was filthy and falling apart. They never checked it! After he changed the air filter my air-conditioning has been fine. In addition, when they changed the climate control panel, they severely damaged my dashboard because it was taken off improperly. They refused to replace it with a new one and wanted to patch it, which would have looked terrible. I ended up allowing them to put a used one in. They told me afterwards that Nissan had a service bulletin on all dashboards before 2012 because they would bubble up and crack. They installed an old one in my car!! So, I spent $930 on a repair that should have cost only $60.00, and I have a dashboard installed in my car that is at risk of cracking and bubbling up. The owner, Rich Naber became really nasty and screamed at me on the phone. He refused to take responsibility or do the right thing and refund me for their repeated misdiagnosis and negligence. A shop you can trust. Very good vibes from Rich's. I had a repair that was a little unusual, and was told by another similar shop that it had to be a dealer repair. I took the vehicle to Rich's in first thing in the AM, and they had an estimate for me, all in incl taxes, in less than 20 minutes! Then I was told they could do the work right away, and had a loaner car to use. Seriously! They said the job would be done by 3 PM, and called me just after 2 PM to say it was ready. The work was done properly, and unlike EVERY other time I've used an auto repair shop, there were no grease smudges on the front fenders or elsewhere. Very impressive. I have to say, I kind of wondered when I 1st entered the shop in the morning, & saw my name on a whiteboard in the service lobby welcoming me as a new customer. It's like something from the book on "How to Run a Brilliant Auto Repair Business". I generally drive older vehicles because I know what money pits new cars are. The catch with that is you need a shop like Rich's to make driving an older vehicle work. Definitely 5 Stars. read more
