Take your car here! That is all you need to know. I have a pre owned car that I took to the dealer…read morefor service. Well, in the past they haven't "lied" or exaggerated the need for service to my previous cars but this time they did. I had brought it in for a tune up but I had noticed the heat was taking longer than usual to warm up and the other day the check engine light came on for a second and then went off. So, the guy told me the mechanic saw it overheating and coolant coming out and it was crazy and all the hoses had to be replaced ASAP. He said it was un-drivable and would be like $2,000 to replace. I was so upset and felt hopeless and started to think who I could call to borrow the money. I thought it was strange because I hadn't seen it overheat and the gauge never moved past halfway. He was showing me pictures of how it looked and all. I told him I needed to see if another mechanic was cheaper and if they would let me pay over time. I called the guy who does my tires and he referred me to Meineke. He said he goes there when he needs work on his car. He told me they were honest. I asked the guy at the dealer if it was safe to drive the 20 minutes to Brick and he said he thinks it should be okay. So, I arrived at Meineke and spoke to RJ. I told him the story. He said he thinks they were exaggerating. So, RJ visually looked at the hoses and he said all looked good except one but it was hard to see. He didn't see any overheating. He couldn't see me that day but scheduled me for Friday first thing (it was Wednesday). He told me he would fill the reserve with coolant and then him and the others in the shop loved how the dealer told me they couldn't put any coolant in the reserve because it had to be my car type of coolant and it would take an hour to get that done. I was annoyed the dealer let me drive with no coolant in the reserve for the 20 minute drive and then find out the car could take general coolant for cars. I left and later bought extra coolant just in case. I returned on Friday morning and they checked it out. Turns out I only needed a clamp of the heater hose. That is why the heat wasn't getting so warm and why the coolant was leaking. I applied for the Synchrony Car Care card in the shop, which they take for all services, and got approved. I didn't even know a card like this existed but it's good for people who can't pay for all their auto expenses up front. Since the part was so cheap, only $50 and not $2k, I got a tune up (since my car is over 100k miles) and they replaced two bulbs that were out. All for the grand total of $314! This business has been family owned since 1979 by the grandparents. I met the son and his son (RJ) and they told me other family members work there as well. The customers in the waiting room told me they wouldn't take their car anywhere else. This is the type of place I would love to go back to. And as a side note, the guys next door at Quicky Discount Oil Change were nice and helpful as well. I will be bringing my car to get my oil changed there in the future.

Wow!! Amazing customer service!! Another place I went to was going to charge me 200 just to look…read moreand diagnose the issue and that didn't even include parts or labor. So that led me to look up other options and I found meineke with amazing reviews and now I know why! They were so honest and nice! My light went off with a coolant warning. It ended up being just below the line so they didn't even charge me! So nice and will return in the future!!

Nobody ever likes to go to the mechanic. It's like the dentist - you know that it's needed, but…read morethat never makes it any less painful. Affordable Automotive was a refreshing change from the usual places, and made the process as easy as can be. The staff here are incredibly friendly. As soon as I arrived, Walt & the rest of the crew greeted me and chatted as if I was a customer for years. I explained the situation with my car (the AC decided to blow up right when the weather finally got warm, figures), and within 2-3 business days, they had it blowing better than new. The best part though, was that they kept me informed throughout the entire process - including sending a video text message to explain and show where the leaks were, which I found to be both incredibly helpful and a really nice touch, in terms of service. Hey, it's the little things that count. They even go over the rest of the car and let you know what will likely be a problem in the future, but weren't really pushy to get them fixed. Prices were on-par / cheaper than other reputable places nearby, and if you own property in Brick township, they (as of this writing) are part of the "Buy in Brick" program, which shaves a few bucks off your property taxes at the end of the year, a nice touch. They even sent a personalized thank-you card after the service was complete. Hopefully I don't need any repairs in the near future, but if I do? I know where I'm going.

This place is a rip off. They see someone that doesn't know much about cars and they try to screw…read morethem. One of the owners, Greg doesn't have social skills on explaining and just pulling what to charge you out of his ass as much as he thinks he can rip you off. Charging you $500 for oil pan that cost about $35 and only takes about 15 minutes is bad business as they don't realize there is yelp, social media, word of mouth, etc. Shame on you for bad business, no wonder why you are not that busy! Just found from Greg that they charge the hourly rate from what the dealership charges for whatever car you have. So I could have gone to Toyota instead of them. They check dealership price and do not have set prices for them only. You are definitely not & wrong name of your business "Affordable Automotive"!
