I was at the Mr Tire in Brick yesterday. The waiting room was full, and there was a man at the counter cursing at the clerk because he wanted them to replace his rims for free (I looked later: he had curb rash on one wheel. The others were fine, obviously not their responsibility). There was another customer cursing because he would have to wait as long as the rest of us. The clerks did a much better job dealing with these two than I would have. They were honest and apologetic when they said it would take 2 hours before they could fit me in as a walk in. I was out in an hour and a half. Before I went, I had visited a few websites for prices and planned out what I was willing to spend. I came in under-budget, if just barely. Getting your car repaired is never fun, especially in a case like mine when I found a screw in my tire just before I wanted to go out. I went to the Brick location to have a flat repair. Low tire pressure light went on showing 21% PSI in drivers rear. After some time the guy at the counter tells me one of the studs snapped and needed to replaced. Charge a little over $300.00. When I balked he said he could do it for a little over $200.00. I explained I just had a stud replace at another business when I got the new tires and although I could not remember the exact cost it was well under $100.00. Told him to just fix the flat rebalance & remount the tire. I'd get the stud replaced at Brick's Best who did the first one for less than $100. All of a sudden they were fixing the busted stud for free. Which leads me to believe the stud was never busted to begin with. I will NEVER go to this business again. I feel they saw an older female & saw an easy target. I am not stupid don't insult my intelligence. I was not born yesterday. Now I am taking the car to my regular mechanic to make sure they did not sabotage anything on my vehicle. Wouldn't trust them with my worst enemy. read more

This place went downhill the last few years, like bad...went in a few weeks ago to replace brake pads. I have a lifetime warranty on the pads, just pay for labor. I purchased them in 2017 and never had a problem until now. I got charged for the pads and when I told them about it they said it's not in the system that I purchased them. Apparently their computer only goes back 4 years. Can't even make this up. I now had to get a copy of my original bill from corporate and give it to Mr tire so they can send it to corporate and show I have the lifetime warranty so I can get refunded that money. Went in to have a bad tire valve stem replaced (leaking air). Vehicle was immediately put on open lift upon arrival and took them over an hour to replace a tire valve, charged over $50. They then told me that all 4 tires were bad (only 22k miles on them, 60k mile Cooper tires). Told me I had suspension issues among other issues. They wanted over $1600.00 to set things right (parts and labor)! Avoid these vultures at all costs. Stay away senior citizens, they will pick your bones clean! Took my VW and got 4 new tires, back on November 18th 2022. Went out to inspect my car before I left, and my center emblem cap is lying next to car with broken tabs. Go inside show manager. He stated he will order me a new one. Which he did in December (not sure why a month delay at that time), and it was the wrong part. I have called every other day with " the manager is not here " and more excuses, and even went there in person several times. Needless to say, I'm still waiting almost 4 months later its now Feb16th 2023. Very disappointing to say the least. I tried to be cordial, but this is absolutely unacceptable to have to wait this long for something their tech did (send his ass to VW in Shrewsbury!! FYI, I ordered one online Tuesday and received it in 2 days and it fits, so not sure why all the BS. Had an 8AM appointment for tires today in Toms River. Showed up at 7:50A & no lights were on inside!! Waited until 8:15A. Nothing. Drove to the back & all bays were still closed. There was an employee waiting there for an hour waiting for someone to open up! I even left a voicemail message & they didn't have the courtesy to call me & explain.... or apologize!! Never again. Recently had my brake pads done. Only had 30,000 miles on my vehicle. Didn't have any squeaking or anything like that and as soon as they change the pads the very next day I noticed squeaking. I didn't wanna go back there because while I was there, the man at the front desk had, an argument with one of the customers and I didn't wanna deal with that. So I brought my car somewhere else that several people recommended as reputable. They said whoever put on the new brake pads didn't quite " finish the job ". The pins weren't all the way in. And in addition to that, they left all the old grease on and didn't regrease anything. The new shop I went to said it would've taken them five minutes to finish up the job right and they just didn't like they didn't care about it and thought that the pins and the lack of new grease could be why it was squeaking. I won't go back. I was already feeling like I wasn't going to go back after I saw the employee arguing with the customer in the waiting room. And then the squeaking brakes was just the icing on the cake or the last straw so to speak Mr. tire used to be the only place I would go to from 2008 until 2017 or so. Had an alternator installed for about 550 bucks and after about 20k miles it started to squeal due to a bad bearing. They tell me that the warrenty is only good for 12k miles and offered to replace it for 475 dollars. They were UNWILLING to call the parts supplier to explain the issue. I can buy this part for under 300 dollars and get a lifetime warranty. And so can Good Year. Bottom Line: An altenator should last more than 20k miles. This company didn't stand by their work and will have lost 3 customers that they have had for 11 years. read more

Made an appointment on line on Monday for 8am Wednesday. Had a $19.99 coupon for an Oil change which include tire rotation, free preventive maintenance and safety check. Dropped the car off at 8am Wednesday and SIX HOURS later, they called with a laundry list of things wrong with the car. I said I just want to come pick up the car and they said they were just doing the oil change and that they'd call me back when it was ready. What??? After 6 hours it still wasn't done? What is the point of making an appointment? Next, when I went to pick up the car and pay, they wanted $82!!! What??? What about the coupon? Oh, they said and made some adjustment to the bill. Come on! You think I'm stupid? I guess some people just blindly pay. BEWARE! I got some wiper blades replaced too and they charged me $17 EACH. That's ridiculous. I could have gone to Auto Zone and gotten them installed there for less. RIP OFF! Not going back there again, that's for sure. read more

SUBSTANDARD SERVICE: This place is a shining example of the degradation of service. While i'm sure they do get some things right, it is unacceptable to send a REPEAT CUSTOMER home 3 separate times in the same weekend with a nail in the tire, PROMISING each time that it has been fixed. As a customer when the manager explicitly tells you in no uncertain terms "the flat is fixed" you have no choice to believe him. After the 3rd time, I was already 20 miles away in Eatontown, looked out the window from my job and dammit, same tire is flat again after they just told me it was fixed. Brought the car to Goodyear in Eatontown who said VERBATIM "I don't see how the Brick store could miss this nail" and proceeded to show me the nail STILL IN THE TIRE in plain sight. . So you go ahead and bring your car, your moms car, your kids car to Mr. Tire in Brick, and when you or your grandmas car breaks down on the highway in the middle of Irvington or Newark; remember that you have been warned. . I went to Mr. Tire in Brick as I was looking for some very inexpensive tires. I browsed online and found these specific tires for my car. It seemed like a great deal since they do not charge for all the extras. I made the appointment and printed the quote. I had an early appointment on Sat morning. There was only one person in the store. I was not sure what to expect since there has not been any recent reviews. However I have been to other auto service centers which have not been great experiences. When I got there, the guy registered me and confirmed he had the tires in stock. In about 40-50 mins, it was done. The price was as quoted except for taxes and a $3.00 tire fee. They did not try to sell me other services or road hazard coverage or anything else which honestly I was expecting them to. Firestone sure does. I was very pleased. The price was as quoted, they did not try to sell me other services, and the time it took was reasonable. I would recommend them over Firestone which they do charge for all the extras - mounting, valves, balancing, etc. I recommended my dad there and he also did not have any problems. read more

Guy at front desk was honest and thorough with me in explaining what they did. Robert W. Toms River Stay away from this place. They tried to rip me off for about $39.00. They showed me the invoice (which I signed) and when I contested the price (after doing my homework and research) They then told me to disregard that invoice and printed a new one at the correct price for the work. I spent $585.00 at this place. They did the wheel aligment in fifteen minutes! with the old tires still on the vehicle! which they also tried to charge me $20.00 over the orginall quote. Then too top it off they got greese all over the driver seat and were pissed when I asked them to clean it up. I'll never go back. I don't even think they did the wheel aligment because I had to go back and ask for the read out. I went to AAA and they said the left side needed adjustment another $100.00!! THIS PLACE IS A DISASTER!!! First of all, I am the owner of a professional auto body repair facility and i was in town visiting my 80 years old mom. she asked me to look at her car because something wasn't right about how it drove, YEP she was right Mr. Tire had installed rear brake calipers on her car and they were frozen solid and they were replaced without bleeding the braking system, the car had no rear brakes. I had called the location to advise them about their botched job which could have caused a traffic accident. I must admit this the manager was no apologetic but was willing to help out the situation that I resolved myself by properly doing the job with the replacement parts they had supplied. I regained faith for a short bit but they screwed that up as well. The car was brought back in for a flat tire repair and like many others who have reviewed this location the same happened to me, they didn't resolve the issue at all in fact they tried to give me a line of B.S. even though i have been in the trade longer than anyone that was in the store. i also asked for a tire rotation which was never done. (a tip to others taking your car in for service, always mark the lug nuts with a paint pen and a corresponding mark on your wheel. it can be easily removed later on and you can tell if your service was performed because the marks will not line up again if the work was performed, if it was not performed then the marks will be inline and untouched) so, guess what i found. nothing was done. I was then told the reason the tire was leaking air was because they had some "dry rot" on the tire which was in fact a tire defect in which they WILL warranty the tires for new ones. I have been working on cars for 35+ years and this place by far is THE WORST place i have ever seen. very incompetent and they don't care what they say or who they say it to, they just want a sale. Remember, they sent my 80 yr old mom down the road with rear brakes that didn't work, what will they do to you???????? you have been warned, this place needs to close down before they hurt somebody. lastly, if you notice in the other reviews someone from Mr. tire responds back saying "were sorry you had a bad experience with us" .... two things to note, firstly, boy there's a lot of responses from them but no resolutions come from it... second, before i wrote this review i reached out to that person who replies to these reviews and explained this situation to them completely. Had a flat in the rain and was towed into Mr. Tire. Front desk was courteous, but slow. Was informed that tire was cracked and needed to be replaced as did my other front tire. Told them money was an issue, couldn't really afford one, let alone two. Just replace the one and I'd do the next one on pay day. Asked about options (meaning different tire prices) and was ignored. Ignorantly assumed since I said I was facing financial hardships they give me a cheaper tire. Went to pay, tire was 175...a new Goodyear. Had I not been sick and it been raining, I'd have demanded them take it off and put on the spare. I know Sears sales a tire for my car for $100. I was completely steamrolled. STAY AWAY! I called and was quoted $25 for my oil change. I specifically gave them my make, model, and year. The service person quoted me the wrong price for my vehicle and when it was time to pay they said they told me the wrong price and it was $75 because my vehicle required a different oil. When I called to speak with a manager, I believe her name was Maggie, she laughed at me, did not apologize for THEIR mistake in the wrong quote and did not even call me back as she said she would, to resolve the issue. ADDENDUM to 4/1/2018: So yesterday was Easter Sunday... passenger front tire still flat losing air after I keep refilling. Can't drive on it. Monday morning 7:30am, its snowing, I once again fill the front passenger tire with air and drive it to Mr. Tire in Brick, NJ. I immediately tell the young lady at the desk, that the tire is flat again; this is after they had the tire in their shop for 2.5 hours on Saturday. She pulls the car into the bay, they work on the car for approx. 20-30 minutes, they assure me the tire is fine now.. stating that air may have been leaking from the Tire Weight attached point. So feeling assured, because.. hey, I'm at a Tire shop where they just finished and said all is fine even knowing this tire "fix" warrants EXTRA CAREFUL service. I park and go into my job. I come out at lunch time... and whattya know? The front passenger tire is flat again. I call AAA, they come and fill the tire, and I drive the car to GOODYEAR in Eatontown where in 5 minutes the guy finds a nail in the front passenger tire and say, I don't know how the other shop missed this.. you can actually FEEL the air coming out. He states he cannot repair it because its somewhat near the sidewall. So although the tire is only 1.5 months old, I have to buy a new tire. sidenote: the hole in the older tire is totally repairable, I wasn't born yesterday. I told him to bag the tire up and put it in my trunk. read more

Terrible. I went in with a flat tire and they told me the hole was close to the sidewall so they weren't sure the patch would work, then tried to sell me new tires. I had them patch it and left. The patch failed a few days later, fortunately near another tire place. When the new place took the tire off they showed me the patch. Mr Tire had placed the patch on the edge of the leak as if they wanted it to fail. Anyway, the other place patched it for me and the tire was fine for another 15,000 miles until I sold the vehicle. I seldom write negative reviews but in this case if I could give zero stars I would. It wasn't just bad service, it was deception. This was normally my go to for a quick cheap oil change but not anymore. The other day I got an oil change and they asked if I would like to change the engine air filter and the cabin air filter I asked how much it would be and they said with the oil change it would be 90 dollars total so I said no I'd do it another day so few days after I notice it kept saying maintenance required on the dashboard so I wasn't understanding how that was if I just got an oil change so I had my boyfriend check to make sure they changed the oil which they did but they never put the air filter cap back the right way and it was missing screws so it was open while I was driving and I had no idea moving forward from that my glove compartment was not put back together the right way and had oil marks on some of my papers that I keep in there I guess before touching things they never washed there hands so I took my car back today explained to them what happen and the guy just had a complete attitude didn't really apologize for what happen. Really good and honest folks. I brought my car in because I thought I needed a new sensor (about a $100 repair). Turns out the sensors weren't calibrated to the correct tires. They figured this out, repaired a tire with a nail in it, balanced it, re-calibrated all 4 tire sensors and charged me $40. They could have easily charged me the $100 and I never would have known. FYI - I am NOT a regular customer at this place. i work nearby and stopped in on a fluke to see if they could help. This place is 100% solid. read more
