This place is a rip off. They see someone that doesn't know much about cars and they try to screw them. One of the owners, Greg doesn't have social skills on explaining and just pulling what to charge you out of his ass as much as he thinks he can rip you off. Charging you $500 for oil pan that cost about $35 and only takes about 15 minutes is bad business as they don't realize there is yelp, social media, word of mouth, etc. Shame on you for bad business, no wonder why you are not that busy! Just found from Greg that they charge the hourly rate from what the dealership charges for whatever car you have. So I could have gone to Toyota instead of them. Do not go here. Was totally ripped off by them. Broke my hood latch wouldnt fix it. Sold me one tire which i found out later you shouldnt do with all wheel drive. Told me all my front end was loose and charged me $200 to tighten. Will never go back there...go someplace else read more

Came to get my brakes fixed, left feeling like I'd been at a family reunion. So welcoming and easy to talk to everyone. I spent a few hours waiting here and had a great time. First of all I wanna say the worker Greg, is a great guy. Very polite and kind with the process of helping me with my car. I didn't have to make an appointment, I was able to walk in and just have my car sent it for work immediately. The workers there are amazing in general, when I came in to pick my car back up they were all celebrating a birthday party and they all seemed like genuinely good people. Love the vibes to this place. The cost of my car service wasn't cheap for sure but for my replacement of tie rods and rack assembly, I'd say it's fair. Just wont to let everyone know I would get another price before you agree to have them work on your vehicle. I believe everyone is entitled to make a fair profit. I just had my front breaks repaired (rotors and pads) $966.60 including tax. They charged me to inspect my vehicle, they gave me a list of issues that I thought were overpriced so I was kind of trapped. The most important thing was the breaks so the estimate was around $550.00 so I agreed, thinking if I went some ware else it would be at least that. I pick my vehicle and to my suppress was the above cost. $99.00 to pour break fluid into the reservoir and then $14.95 for the fluid. This job should have been no more then $425.00- $500 starching. Nobody ever likes to go to the mechanic. It's like the dentist - you know that it's needed, but that never makes it any less painful. Affordable Automotive was a refreshing change from the usual places, and made the process as easy as can be. The staff here are incredibly friendly. As soon as I arrived, Walt & the rest of the crew greeted me and chatted as if I was a customer for years. I explained the situation with my car (the AC decided to blow up right when the weather finally got warm, figures), and within 2-3 business days, they had it blowing better than new. The best part though, was that they kept me informed throughout the entire process - including sending a video text message to explain and show where the leaks were, which I found to be both incredibly helpful and a really nice touch, in terms of service. Hey, it's the little things that count. They even go over the rest of the car and let you know what will likely be a problem in the future, but weren't really pushy to get them fixed. Prices were on-par / cheaper than other reputable places nearby, and if you own property in Brick township, they (as of this writing) are part of the "Buy in Brick" program, which shaves a few bucks off your property taxes at the end of the year, a nice touch. My husband and I were on our way back up north from the shore when we heard something not right with our front left tire...upon inspection we found that we needed a bolt removed and a plug put in before we could get on the road. Not being from the area I called and the gentleman who answered the phone was very accommodating and got us right in despite being a very busy shop. I was referred here by my neighbor who told me the owners would take care of me and my car and I'm very happy to say, they absolutely did. They were genuinely kind and pleasant people who provided top notch customer service. The mechanic took the time to explain to me the issues he saw with my car and discuss options. I had to replace my brakes pads which took quite a while but was to be expected, on top of an oil change. They have a great waiting room with snacks, coffee, tv and WIFI. My opinion, RUN, not walk away from this shop. Originally called on a Friday to see if they had an opening to look at my car over the weekend, which I was told yes. I receive a call after the vehicle gets towed there (brake line issue), and told I will get a call Tuesday, regarding pricing and whatnot. Received call on Tuesday, the employee stated that the brake line repair would be $1500, then said he made a mistake, it would be $1100, only after I obviously was shocked... My car was looked at by my mechanic the prior week, who had no time to complete the repair. My mechanic suggested anything from $300-$600 would be reasonable, with 6 being somewhat less reasonable obv. As you can see, the quote given to me by Affordable is 2-3x the price, as well as being told the car is in very poor condition, which is not true (other than aesthetically). read more

I find these guys extremely trust worthy. They've done lots of work on my vehicle. The radio went. They found a used factory original one and installed it. Less expensive and works great. I was having charging issues and 3 alternators in from other shops they finally fixed it where others couldn't. I thought I had another charging issue which turned out to be only a loose and worn out battery clamp. They could have made it seem like an expensive repair but they changed so very little for replacing the clamps. In my experience Walt and Greg the service managers are the real deal. They fix what you need and change fairly. I highly recommend them. read more

So let me just say I know they look great with the nice waiting room and videos of things they say need fixing, but price and trustworthiness is what really matters in a repair shop. Both of which they lack. I went twice within a year. Both times to get an ailment. The first time they gave me a long list of things that should get fixed and I spent about 1500$. The next time I rolled up they came back with another long list of things they said needed fixing. They wanted about 1100$ for a ball joint, but I ended up spending 900$. I told them no way I was agreeing to some of the prices they were asking for, and they came back with a better price because they wanted to "work with their clients." Smh. Just give me the best price first. So I fix it. Then within a day of driving suddenly my wheel well is squealing. Turns out they can charge about 800$ for a ball joint but can't figure out how to put a brake shield back on. I ended up going to a few other shops around the area showing them the prices of the items they either "fixed" or suggested getting fixed. The other shops were 25-35% cheaper on average and after one shop looked over their suggestions they looked over my car were like none of things suggested need to be replaced. I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue and I take good care of my car. I will not be going back to this this place and I would suggest others be weary of it and its "affordable" prices. Here is my honest review. They are very nice people, but could not fix my vehicle. I had to bring my vehicle back 3 successive times for them to fix noises and rough driving. Each time they said it needed something else fixed. But the vehicle still was not fixed. Now the brakes that they recently fixed are making grinding and screeching noises. After thousands of dollars spent, the vehicle still drives horribly. I am going to the dealer from now on. The dealer constantly works on the same cars and should be able to diagnose problems better. read more

We arrived early, but the crew was welcoming and started on our car anyway! Really disappointed in how unprofessional my experience was here. I had an appointment for brakes where I waited for over an hour and a half only to be told when I asked for an update on my car that they hadn't even test drove it to begin my service. They had no problem taking regular customers who walked in after me first though. After leaving upset they gave empty promises to get me to return. I made yet another appointment against my better judgement and this time they drove my car immediately. I left the car and I asked that they call me when they knew what was wrong with the car so I knew what work had to be done. Over an hour and a half later and no word from them, I called them and was told it was my brakes and then they asked if I was going to take it elsewhere to be fixed. Not sure why I wasn't called to be updated or asked what I wanted to do. I wish I did take it elsewhere but I allowed them to proceed and I was then told my car would be ready over 4 hours later... for brake pads and rotors. After calling back saying that was way too long for brakes and wanted my car sooner, they worked on my car right away and then told me it was ready about 40 minutes later, only for me to get there and my car was still in the garage being worked on. On top of all of that I still was overcharged for a routine brake job and my car is still making the noise I complained about when I brought it in. I wish I saved the headache in dealing with this company and went elsewhere after they gave me the run around the first time. read more

Maggie and Paul (the owners) are family people; and Greg and Dean (the service managers) have been very honest, and treat all guests to their store respectfully. They are also very good with reminding you about the need for maintenance, and offering coupons, etc., to regular customers. They will be up front with you about the charges.
