Rices reminds me of my childhood. back when they were just a small shack across from Milby, it was our go to spot whenever my mom didn't want to cook. The fried seafood here can't be beat. the batter is unique and better than any i've had at other seafood spots. Their fish fillets are huge! One can feed both my husband and I. i've been coming here for years, and now i'm introducing my children to it. always nice to come full circle with an established local spot. read more

The fried shrimp were pretty good, but I still prefer Lawndale fish markets fried shrimp. I tried this place out since Lawndale fish market is closed on Tuesdays. I was really impressed with the portions/prices. I was surprised my salad came with pickles, that's a first for me, but it was ok. Also had the cheese puffs, and they were flavorless, so I won't order cheese puffs from here again. I will be ordering fried chicken next time and soup. For my first time here, it was great. FYI, my order was to go, when I arrived it was not ready, I had to pay first and than they made my order. The general chicken was disgusting. It tasted old and the chicken was stringy. I couldn't even chew it. I saved half without opening for the next day. The next day I opened the special fried rice. I served a few big spoonfuls in to my plate. So I had already gone deep into it. When I was serving my son I found a big fly in the rice. This food was the worst I have ever bought. The below person has got it totally wrong. Rice's has been a neighborhood staple for over 20 years. From their small beginnings where you'd come in and purchase a fresh fish laid in ice to have them prepare it how you'd like to some of the best fried rice in town. Right across from Milby High School were everyone would go after school. Even now, not living ANYWHERE close to the place I bring friends of all walks of life to enjoy the food. They all agree that the taste of the fish is very good and fresh and some of the best rice. People who know love the place. read more
