Might even be your first time being in this uncomfortably dingy place - they seriously need heavy renovations! But try their fried seafood once before walking away. I've dined in once and ordered to-go the rest of the time for lunch, and I ate here quite often. I've been on a hunt for good cornmeal battered fried catfish, and this place is up there. I like it wayyyy better than the fried catfish at the nice fancy seafood restaurant chains located in Galveston. The shrimp has a different type of batter and the fries are average, but good to eat - not soggy from what I remember. I really come here for the fried catfish. From the outside it don't look like much but this is a mom and pop restaurant their shrimp is big their fish is big and it's fried very good and they do have grilled fish if you want it. The fried seafood was good and inexpensive but I cannot go any higher than 3 stars due to location and interior. This is a very low rent place in a sketchy part of town. My boyfriend ordered the 30 medium boiled shrimp for 10$ and I got the 6 piece shrimp with fries and salad I'm not even a red cocktail sauce type of person and even the sauce was good !!! First time going there after reading all the great reviews and seeing all the stars , I am now questioning peoples ratings. The first thing I saw was an ugly dirty entry/ seafood counter. Second thing was the sewage smell in the restaurant that was a real appetite killer. This was after hurricane Harvey so there were not many places to eat and with so many high marks about the food I still ordered. I ordered the 3 stuffed crabs and 2pc fish. My wife ordered fried shrimp. The stuffed crabs were typical with no crab meat but stuffing with bell pepper, and onion. The fish was "ok" and I could not tell if it was catfish or carp. The fried shrimp was good. So in closing I will not return. FYI - Its possible that the smell in the restaurant could have been due to the sewer backup from the storm. But still I think the place can use some major cleaning. read more

Went to Linda's seafood yesterday in search for some fresh fried catfish. I asked if the fish off the menu was catfish or Swai and I can appreciate that the lady behind the counter said it was Swai. Some restaurants will pass this fish off as catfish. Since Swai is imported barramundi and not domestic, it has a distinctively different taste and texture which I don't like. If you want authentic catfish, they have whole catfish to select and fry but they were too large for one or two people. Still on the search! read more
