03.17.26 Stopped by here today for a late lunch with my best friend. Papa's restaurants are always great, I wish they had one in the Baytown area, this place is the closest to Baytown. Even when they are busy, you know they have everything in order, for they get people seated as soon as tables are available, which is not in any way the staff's responsibility if some guests, still want to sit and chit chat, after they have already completed their meal. Our waitress was great, she got our order and everything we needed to us promptly and timely. Parking may be a bit troublesome during busy timeslots, other than that this place is always great.
The family friendly setting was very welcoming. The service was good, however it could've been personable in order to feel connected with the customer. Now the food was the highlight of it all!!! It was fresh and tasty!!! I wasn't expecting to get this Cajun flare when I bit into our order. The taste lingered for a while after being washed down with some delicious mango sweet tea
Anniversary dinner and post graduation celebration brought us to our favorite restaurant. Not sure why I didn't make reservations but I didn't. We had a bit of a wait. It was graduation time and a Saturday late afternoon. Crowds were to be expected. We had drinks at the bar. They have a new mango tango type frozen drink, not my jam but it was tasty. I stuck with wine. Once our table was ready, we made our way. Alex was our server and did a good job. Fresh bread, drink refills and some recommendations. We reluctantly got the "new" style fried alligator. They changed it to honey lemon glazed or something. Not a fan but we got it with the sauce on the side and it was just ok. Now that we tried it, they need to seriously bring the old one back. I got the crawfish platter and Alex didn't blink when I asked for half fried half sautéed and dirty rice. Most people get confused when I order that but it's my standard. My husband orders the lunch item red beans and rice with andouille sausage and shrimp skewers. We are not hard to please and everyone enjoyed their meal. They added an automatic 18% gratuity too. We left it, the service was good.
I died and went to Cajun food heaven. Why don't they have franchises in the west coast? Now I have to fly to the mid states or east coast to have me some fiiiiine pappadeaux. Pappdeaux has the best Cajun flavors - all authentic and core to the roots. You can tell you've come to the right place by the clientele - you've definitely come to the right place. They ain't messing around!! My FAVORITES: - Seafood cheese bake. It has shrimp, crawfish, heavy cheese, baked perfectly to a crisp. It also comes with a side of thick garlic bread. Perfect for dipping. Add some hot sauce to this dish and it's just perfect!! Simply orgasmic. - Crawfish and dirty rice. A stable in Cajun cuisine and they make it so well. Flavored perfectly. The crawfish is chewy and bursting with flavor.
Ask f op e Tyler and thank me later. Look at the INTENTION and CARE he put in this salad. I asked if I could have the knife and fork salad with fried shrimp... My guy said say LESS. Fried shrimp were perfect. The lump shrimp (which usually comes cold) was sauteed to perfection. Tyler recommended the creamy vinaigrette. You know I got it. You should too. I'm happy as hell. It was the PERFECT salad. Bless you Tyler, you deserve a 200% tip for going the extra mile WHILE managing a large table!!
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Two outside eating areas. Dining room is huge. I ate at the bar. Bri was the absolute best bartender. I only had a drink and an appetizer, on my way into town. My drink was perfect. The watermelon was fresh and crisp. Usually a watermelon garnish is mushy, or even warm...ewww. This drink was nicely blended and flavors exactly as expected. I ordered the spin dip, for a snack. It was hot and tasty. . I will stop on and see Bri anytime I'm arriving in Houston.
I find myself at Pappa's Seafood House quite a bit, and thinking I would receive a more Cajun experience Pappadeux, I decided to visit here instead. Well silly me. The menu was exactly the same! Despite that, I still had a great time. Our server was very seasoned and knew exactly how to handle questions and requests. My usual meal of Catfish Opelousas with dirty rice was impeccable. The shrimp and crawfish fonduex was rich and creamy--perfect for sharing. Their house made tartar sauce is also super delicious. Like most Pappas restaurants, they did not disappoint.
We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at Pappadeaux's and had a great time. Our first date was at a Pappadeaux's in Georgia, so this was a beautiful trip down memory lane. The service was outstanding, Aliyah was the best, and the food was delicious. Aliyah made us feel welcome from start to finish. We started with a soup and salad. I ordered the Louisiana shrimp gumbo. The broth was seasoned well, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. It was a little spicy, but I didn't mind because it tasted so good. The Pappadeaux house salad was so fresh. The lettuce was crispy, not withered. The avocado was ripe, not brown. The tomatoes were juicy, and even the hard-boiled egg was good. But the best part about the salad was how the salad and the dressing paired together. I don't usually take my salads as a takeaway item, but this one was so large we couldn't finish it, and it was still good the next day. I wanted to order the wild-caught grouper but wasn't sure about the tomato lobster broth, so, per Aliyah's recommendation, I tried the wild-caught red snapper & jumbo crab instead. It did not disappoint. The fish was a touch too salty, and the serving size of the jumbo crab was small, but I would order it again. I added a side of broccolini and truffle potatoes. The broccolini was chargrilled; what a way to enhance some good ole broccolini. And the potatoes, well, if you like truffle-flavored anything, you can't go wrong with truffle potatoes- delish! For dessert, we enjoyed a substantial slice of cheesecake. It was on the house in celebration of our special night. Lastly, I enjoyed a Virgin Pina Colada, and hubby enjoyed his French 75. The evening was beautiful. The entire experience was lovely. Can't wait to visit again.
The food and drinks are great, there's plenty of parking and the ambiance is nice. We love coming here even though it's usually busy. I've never had a negative experience. My favorite are the cocktails. The spring fling, tastes like a spicy jolly rancher but it's a seasonal drink. Sometimes it can be a bit of a wait so be prepared if you come during peak times. On the plus side they do give you bread when you get seated which helps calm the hangries. The seafood is great and I've even tasted their fried alligator. It tastes like chicken but a little seafood-ish. Something to try if you have guests from out of town with you.
Pappadeaux is an awesome chain. It's a must every time I visit Houston. It's pricey but pretty classy for a chain. Waiters in bow ties -- it's a special experience. Food is awesome -- but you'll spend some $ if you come here. Opted for the Pasta Mardi Gras - it did NOT disappoint: PASTA MARDI GRAS Linguine, crawfish, andouille sausage, cremini mushrooms, marinara cream sauce, jumbo grilled shrimp ($34). All in all, it's a great place. If you don't have a good time at Pappadeaux, check yoself!
UPDATE: Customer Service and food is still top notch. However, the menu prices have increased DRASTICALLY!!! Unfortunately, my most recent visit will be my last visit. I can't see myself spending $50 for a piece of fish, 3 shrimps and a vegetable again. INITIAL REVIEW: Quality Customer Service Matters!!! I've been here on a few occasions and couldn't really complain until today. The place was packed as usual so I went to the bar. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to come and clean the bar area where I was sitting. The woman named Bianca seem to have a bit of an attitude...immediately. She may have been tired from having so many customers but that's how you make a living. Either you want to work or not. If you're tired and not in the "mood" then you may want to go home instead of souring someone else's day. Bianca needs to get pulled to the side and schooled on quality customer service. Thankfully, she never did return to my area so I ended up being served by Molly who was personable, kind, efficient and with IMPECCABLE customer service skills. I decided to take my order to go but THANK YOU Molly!!!! Had it not been for Molly I would've given my experience today a 1 .
Whenever we can come to Pappadeauxs we will definitely go. Been to the one in Denver. Went to the one in downtown Houston. It has a limited menu there and is more expensive than other Pappadeauxs around. That's how we ended up here. We were seated right away on a Sunday evening after the Broncos and Texans football game. Full menu, and as I said, cheaper than the one in downtown Houston. We ordered way too much food, but would do it again in a heartbeat. We ordered the following: 1. Lump crab and spinach dip. This was a good appetizer to begin with. Crustini was thin and brittle, but girthy enough to carry multiple scoops of lump crab and spinach dip. Tasted good. Had a generous amount of lump crab in it. 2. Jumbo gumbo. Large portion. More than enough for 3 peoples. Never had gumbo. But it was really good. Lots of peices of fish and other proteins. Soup was thick. Could use more rice. But it was good. Flavors were on point. 3. Jumbo lump crab cake. This was expensive but worth it! Nothing bum large peices of crab meat. No fillers. It was naturally sweet and amazing!! 4. Pappadeaux platter. A little bit of everything from their apps and fried fish. It was good. Generous portions. Fried well. It's heavy being that it's fried. Not too oily though. 5. Turtle fudge brownie. Got it with ice cream on top. It was good. Sweet. Decadent. Amazing 6. Key lime pie. Tart. Light. They have some coolie to the side and that coolie really made it!! It tempered the tartness. Added some much needed sweetness. But a great way to end the feast. 7. Peach sidecar. This drink was sweet and light. Tasted refreshing. And was a good drink. Good amount of alcohol in it. 8. Guava spritz. Would've finished it too if I wasn't so full!! Light and refreshing as well!! Overall it was great. Server was attentive. They said they had a dessert cart but only physically brought 2 of the desserts. But verbally told us the other items. Area was comfortable. And pretty open where we were at. Booth seating was cushy and comfortable. Enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service!!
I have been to this location several times and never have I been disappointed. The food, service and drinks are always amazing. The salads are my favorite. I tried a pasta dish last week and it did not disappoint. I substituted the octopus for extra shrimp.

Friend has his birthday dinner here the other night and everything was great. Our server was super nice, the drinks were great, the speed of service was perfect for the occasion, the restaurant had nice ambiance, and while it was a nicer venue, it was still very kid friendly! Best grilled shrimp I've had in a very long time and the pasta had such wonderful flavor. read more

Stopped in with some friends after volunteering nearby. I was sad to hear this location doesn't have happy hr yet we still enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress Miah was exceptional, so personable, accommodating and friendly. We shared some appetizers and I ordered a cup of gumbo. The menu was slightly different than other locations I didnt see boudin or regular alligator bites just honey glazed option. read more
Food: I ordered an appetizer called shrimp and crawfish fondue and a side salad. The reason for my visit was because one of my friends gave me a $25 gift card to them. Taste: The fondue needed more seasoning as it left more to be desired, and the salad was good. It had big strips of bacon on it too. No complaints. Beverage: Water with lemon Service: was good and attentive Ambiance: The waiter sat me near the back in a booth which I liked as it gave me privacy since I was alone. read more

This is by far my worst experience at this establishment and I've came on busier days. Came on a Tuesday today for my grandmothers birthday. We waited over an hour for a table as a party of 6. Attached is a photo of the table we received once seated. The table was so small we were rubbing elbows. Ordered the strawberry mango tango and it isn't something I'd personally order again. Wasn't my favorite. The purple voodoo was tangy. It took 35 minutes to get our drinks and 30 to get bread. The food was delicious as usual, but the truffle fries was not a hit. Upon getting our orders, we weren't given lemon, ketchup, or mustard. We had to ask for it to receive it which was a disappointment considering it usually comes with some of the meals we ordered. After my grandmother ordered her dessert, we waited for our server nearly 20 minutes to bring it, therefore she had to ask another waiter whom brought it right out. I'm assuming our waiter just forgot. He was constantly running away after bringing something to the table and made it impossible to ask for anything we needed without screaming before he'd abruptly walk away. Poor customer service experience. read more

We've been to Pappadeauxs numerous times. It's a Sunday Fav after church. I won't get I to all the shenanigans of this visit, but let's just say , the manager Josh, re tidied the situation and he listened attentively to my concern. Our new waiter, Cameron was super attentive and efficient. Food Fresh and delicious. We had the Large shrimp.dish and we split it in half. Waiter Alternate waiter Camwron was super sweet. Definitely worth 20%+ tip that we gave him, as well.as a note.on the ticket thanking him for being such a good waiter. Parking Large parking lot Wait time Walked right in. Just a bit after 11 am. Restrooms Clean and spacious. Dining area Spacious. We love booths read more

Entrees: Fried crawfish platter: 5/5 My husband said his dish was good Atlantic salmon alexander: 5/5 Dish was good, portion was decent. Salmon was juicy and large portion, shrimps were large, crawfish was plentiful, only thing I would change is maybe plate should have come with 4 scallops (or more) instead of just 2, considering it was almost $40 for the plate. Service was quick after we ordered. Only complaint is we came here for a birthday dinner and they could not accommodate a party of 20, we were sat at 2 circular tables side by side instead of at a long table all together. Management would only allow 8-10 at each table. In conclusion, if you want to host a dinner here- don't invite more then 10, unless you don't mind your party being seated apart. read more
Beautiful building , ambiance and theme. Ok, restrooms up there with bucees lol. Impressive. Upon entering the receptionist all really had intense faces no really smile or conversations as they seat you. I watched as they sat people and all were same. Just smile some and maybe ask patrons how they doing today. Our waiter Damien was awesome. Smiles, talked with us, knew the menu and attentiveness to our table. Food was AWESOME. I always get shrimp and the shirmp so good. On the other hand, the Shrimp Po- Boy sandwich doesn't have the same shrimp as the fried you get (more like frozen bagged small shrimp) and because of that I would never order that again, just saying . My girlfriend ordered the broiled shrimp and chicken strips and she loved them both. Not sure if they only have mustard honey as a dipping sauce. We def recommend other dipping sauces IF they don't. Lastly the salads are always so refreshing and a meal alone. Love them. Caesar my favorite. So salads for 2, medium fried shrimp plate plus girlfriend strips and shrimp was about 71$. read more

1 only cause there is no Zero! Ordered the age ribeye! Worst steak I've ever been served at any restaurant. I had a Waffle House steak that wasn't as chewy. I will never eat steak at a Pappadeaux restaurant again. Suggest you do the same! Attached the photo of my "ribeye"! And yes it looked more like a NY strip, when I questioned the cut I was told at least it won't have all the fat. Never again! read more

Alexandra was absolutely amazing and just the sweetest girl server my party and I have experienced thus far. She made sure we got everything we needed and we would see how hard she worked. The guy manager, Tray, assisted us and was just a great gentleman. Well-spoken and very helpful. Even though they were very busy, it still felt like a one on one experience. We will be coming back often. Oh and the food was delicious. Very nice and cozy restaurant as well. read more

This spot is a family favorite. We typically start off with the crab finger appetizer (if they're available). My main dish is the grouper fish with a side of dirty rice. It's so good. My daughters love the shrimp Alfredo pasta, and my husbands go to is their American snapper. We also enjoy the grand Hennessy drink, if we order alcoholic beverages. The service and environment is great. This will continue to be a regular spot for my family. read more

A bit pricey but the food is extremely delicious. My best friend and I came here for New Year's Day to celebrate the new year. She loves coming here because she loves the crab legs. Needless to say she did not get them this time because the price had gone up so much for them. We shared a crab cake, big serving and oh so delicious! I ordered a fish with crab and spaghetti squash (I think it was grouper), it was so yummy! The spaghetti squash was so Delicious in the sauce that it was served with. My bestie got the filet with a baked potato. She said it wasn't as great as it used to be but she still enjoyed it. We will forever go to Pappas because they have the best food and service of anywhere around! read more

I love this location!!! It's very spacious with lots of room for groups! Our group was over 25 people for a surprise birthday dinner!!!! I love the outside patio area. Lots of seating for guest to wait for their tables comfortably! Our waitress Kerstin was the definition of kind, patient, attentive and just overall great customer service! The restrooms were very clean and stocked with hand soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towels! I ordered the lunch portion of Mixed veggies with a fully loaded baked potato. I order this every time and I'm never disappointed. The red and green bell peppers, onions, salmon, and scallops with melted, scampi butter is beyond delicious! We will definitely be back! read more
