This is a very casual, fast food feel kind of restaurant where you order at the counter then go find a table. They're not very quick about turning over tables - there were a few tables that were still dirty from previous parties when we went to get a table after paying. The value here honestly isn't that great - for the price you pay, you'd expect larger portions. The fries (crispy and well seasoned) and garlic butter toast were the best parts. The fried shrimp and chicken tenders were very small, and the fried catfish wasn't very crispy and didn't seem fresh (sort of tasted reheated like it was previously frozen). My boyfriend's shrimp étouffée was so insanely salty - he had to make several trips to refill his water because he was so thirsty. Both of my parents got red beans and rice as a side but one came with a generous amount of sauce while the other was very dry. Overall, we weren't too impressed with the quality of the food here and would not return.

It matches correct levels of Thai spicy, which means that a medium is a hot, hot is unbearable, and anything above that is at your own risk The crispy veggie egg rolls tasted fine, no complaints there! Usually fried bananas are crispy, because the contrast between the creamy banana inside and the crunch of the outside batter is what makes this dessert so delicious. They were cooked to perfection. It's hard to find something this good elsewhere. The service was awesome. We ordered hot teas, there were 2 teabags came with a pot of hot water. The waitress was very attentive to us. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would not skip ARA on my next stay. This was one of the best of Royal Sonesta's amenities.
