Had the sandwich of the month Maui Mama. It was a nice taste with the bacon and jalapeño kick. The pasta salad wasn't a great taste but it's fine. I love that you get a free mini cookie with your order too. I ordered my food togo and was in and out. Great customer service. The server was kind and patient.

Chicken Salad Chick did not disappoint. Tried the Jalapeño Holly and Kickin' Lynn and both were fantastic. Kickin' Lynn was super yummy and flavorful, while Jalapeño Holly definitely brought the heat in the best way. The grape salad was fresh and delicious, and the soup paired perfectly with everything. Bonus points for the cookie because it was so good and the perfect sweet finish. Will absolutely be back.

My first time at this franchise and I really liked! I'll certainly be back again as it's walking distance from Micheal's Cookie Jar. I visited this located to grab a quick lunch on my way to snag some cookies and I'm glad I did. They have a diverse chicken salad menu with chicken salad recipes that I've never heard of before. Because it was my very first time, I opted for their Classic Chicken Salad because that is what made this franchise famous. I loved that they really load the chicken salad up on the soft freshly baked crescent bread. It was very heart and I I was able to eat one half right then and safe the rest for lunch the next day. It comes with a side of veggies and a sugar cookie. The inside of the establishment was very clean! I liked that they had designed a waiting area for those waiting for Togo orders. It was a very comfortable cushioned bench large enough to seat 4 patrons. It didn't take away from the look and feel of the rest of the restaurant. Restrooms: I didn't get a chance to check them out so I'll have to give my feedback on that they next time I visit. Staff: extremely helpful, even giving menu hacks to me so I was able to save about $1 with a special modification Discounts: Employees ONLY Parking: Open Free lot, no street parking

I was hesitant to go there as I'm pescetarian. But I was hungry and in the area. I was surprised to find an egg salad sandwich which I ordered. It came with a delicious broccoli salad, a wrapped cookie and a pickle. They could give the egg salad more flavoring. But the filling was abundant. Employees were amiable.

What's up, Chick! I happened upon this place on the way to another, and because I love Chicken Salad I just had to make a stop. This cute little family friendly establishment specializes in all things chicken salad and they are definitely doing their thing! Shout out to Rosa who assisted me when I came in, she was so sweet and offered me samples to help me make my decision on what to order since I was a first-timer (I had no idea they offered various types of chicken salad, from classic, to fruit added, and spicy!). As always to test a place out I went with the Bacon Cheddar melt with the Classic Carol chicken salad (no bells, no whistles). For my side I went with another favorite of mine, broccoli salad. At almost $12 for my to-go order, I do wish there was more broccoli salad for the side portion, and a little more chicken salad on the croissant to get my money's worth so that was a bit disappointing, but none the less the sandwich was delicious with the croissant lightly toasted and the broccoli salad was yummy! They even give you a small cookie with your order! Yes, please! This place is charming with walls lined with hometown photos that are so adorable. There's nothing fancy about this place, just simple, warm and inviting. There's plenty of seating inside and they also offer an outdoor patio as well. This is a cool place for lunch or a light dinner. I will keep this place in mind the next time I have a taste for chicken salad, for sure! Check it out! Enjoy!

Why do I keep coming back? It's convenient, chicken salad is good not great. Relatively healthy, less sugar on top of grape salad - no cookie. They definitely are missing the mark on their bread. My idea of a good chicken salad sandwich is with soft bread, the white bread is hard, even the crescent is hard! No more sandwiches- I'll stick to a scoop. The peel on the kosher pickle is always tough! Too touch to eat!

Chicken Salad Chick is the best concept! It reminds me of my mother's chicken salad which is the best in my opinion! If you're lucky enough to have a mother, a mother who cooked well, or anyone in your life who cooked for you with love, it is a special thing when you find a food that reminds you of someone you care for. I have been itching to visit this location on Weslayan since they opened (I believe it was in 2023). I entered the restaurant and placed the order for coworkers and myself (four meals total), paid, and went to their clean restrooms. By the time I was out, my order was ready in a few minutes. While I was tempted by the display of desserts, I resisted this time because I was looking forward to the sugar cookie that is served with each meal. I had the salad entree with dixie chicken salad (the one with onions) & poppy seed dressing. SO amazingly delicious!!! My colleagues also enjoyed their meals: chicken salad melts with bacon and loaded baked potato soup.

This place rocks the Chicken Salad category. They have a very subtle light flavor that I think really works well and shows their mastery of the item. I have also always been impressed with the service and love the fact that you can taste test the chicken salad mixes while you are choosing which to order for your meal. The restaurant is bright and clean; overall a great, casual lunch spot. Of the Chicken Salads, I would recommend going with the 'Traditional' flavors or the Fruity & Nutty. So far, those have been my favorites. The Sassy Scotty was a little too rich for my taste. Here are my favorites so far, ranked: 1. Classic Carol 2. Olivia's Old South 3. Cranberry Kelli 4. Sassy Scotty I always enjoy the dill pickle and shortbread cookie that comes with the meal. And have also liked some of their side options like the fact that you can add an extra scoop on the side, and the broccoli salad.

Cute theme and very clean restaurant. The cashier was super friendly and explained everything cause it was my first time. He recommended the flavor of chicken i got and it was pretty good. The sandwich was pretty decent idk it wasn't amazing but the soup was very good and so were the crackers somehow?? idk why or how but the crackers and cookie were the star of this meal. I really liked the soup too tho. Sandwich was the least exciting part but i will definitely be coming back. It was affordable at $10 for a good cohesive lunch.

I got the chicken salad blt in a croissant with the chicken pasta? As the side I think I don't rmb

I came from buy my pets food in the area and I was hungry and decided to try this place, walking in everything is like so classic and nicely decorated, it was clean and welcoming. The gentleman was very nice , straight to the point but I appreciated it, the food was immaculate! It's so good and filling, will come back again! (:

Chicken salad the fruit one. The cookie is so yummy

Yum! So many fun different kinds of chicken salad. Who knew. Wish we had one of these places where I live. The service was great. I got the most popular one. Wish I would have ordered a couple more to try. Cute restaurant. Service was nice. We got there 20 minutes before it closed and we were not rushed and they were all polite. We felt bad arriving so late so we ate quick so we could be out before they closed. The cookie they give you is amazing!

WARNING! Missing an item in my order and THEY DON'T REFUND or give written confirmation about store credit!!! SCAM!

DO NOT GO HERE!! I never make reviews because I've never dealt with such ridiculous service in my life. I came here extremely excited to try this place and made a take out order. When I got home, I realized that the soup I ordered was not in my bag. Not a big deal, this stuff happens from time to time. So I called the store, but all they said was they could only give me was store credit??? Reallly?! Not even a refund to my card because of THEIR MISTAKE? And when I ask how I will receive said store credit (for instance if they need my email or something), the manager said just come in and let us know. What do you mean you can't even give me a written confirmation of what just occurred?! What a SCAM and very informal way to manage this chain...really expected better from this establishment. So just be warned, if THEY mistaken your order you will basically only receive a sorry. NO REFUNDS lmao. So ridiculous. They do not care about their customers at all!!!!!

Wow! Just... wow…read more Loved this place from the moment I walked in! Ambiance was super fun and welcoming. The tubs of ice filled with cold drinks all around as you approach the counter was casual and fun. And the staff was welcoming and friendly. The menu had so much variety, without being overwhelming. Anything from a good pazole, to a brisket Rueben, to an American Italian sandwich! I got the báhn mì sandwich, which was bursting with flavor! The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! Loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

Parking can be tight depending on the time/day. This location feels like it has more indoor seating and a better patio than The Heights which is more exposed to the outdoor elements off the trails. I couldn't remember if I'd been here before until old photos I posted showed. I'm used to The Heights location which is closer to me. It's been about 5 years when I first moved to the loop that I went here with a friend. I had the OG Brussels sprouts which were my favorite when they still had Benjy's in Rice Village. It was a staple for 25 years. They closed in 2020 to expand Local Foods. Pretty bummed because Benjy's was great and had an amazing pecan-crusted goat cheese appetizer with pita. It had more of a cocktail lounge vibe that my friends and I would frequent back in grad school for HH. They had another location off Washington, but that is also closed and is now Forget Me Not. Anyways, the Brussels sprouts were amazing, and I always loved them. I'm glad that Local Foods occasionally features it as a special. I usually gravitate towards the crunchy chicken sandwich. The pretzel bun is everything, and the filling is loaded. If you have a bit allergy, this is not for you. It has pecans in them. I like the added potato chips, too. This time I tried the tacos de camote which was a sweet potato taco. I couldn't find any photos of it on this Yelp page, but I've had sweet potato tacos before in Scottsdale and was hooked. I didn't expect two large wedges on sweet potato lodged in a taco shell. It was delicious and carmelized. You could hear the crunchy outside texture. Loved that. What I didn't love was the difficulty of eating it. The wedges were huge, and the sweet potato was too hot and steamy. It would've been better had they been diced. The pumpkin seed mixture was good but too spicy with the jalapeños. I like spicy food but didn't expect that. The tacos needed salsa or crema to cut through the heat. I picked off the jalapeños and fork and knifed the sweet potato after a few bites with the taco shell. The taco itself is a blue nixtamilized corn tortilla. It held up the taco filling fairly well considering the huge wedge of sweet potato. It also dripped the oil off the sweet potato. I couldn't taste much of the refried beans. I liked these tacos, but it was a little too spicy and didn't have the acid it needed to make it better. I ate the sweet potatoes and nixed the tortillas. As for the sides, I usually get the kale salad because theirs doesn't taste like dirt. Lol. They add enough lemon, pine nuts, golden raisins and Parmesan cheese to make it taste better. I could eat a bowl of that. It's always served in a tiny container. I also get their homemade potato chips. It's dusted with Old Bay seasoning. It can be oily at times, though. This time, I tried a seasonal side of strawberries that was recommended by the guy at the register. It was delicious. The strawberries were soaked in a slightly sweet simple syrup with chopped basil. They have a variety of lemonades, tea, fountain drinks, cocktails and refrigerated beverages to choose from. Lemonade can be too sweet, so I dilute it with ice and water. I like that it's open with the cups and plastic to-go cups if that's your preference. I've always enjoyed what Local Foods offers and like that they offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Service is friendly, and it's a nice, casual place to dine in or on the patio.

I said fine only because I wanted to take Melvin out and food was not the important criteria. Ok, about the restaurant. In a word, the food was in the pedestrian class of places that I would have picked. Looking at the menu beforehand I looked for something that the restaurant couldn't screw up. My three choices were Meatloaf with mash potatoes and green beans, Chicken Fried Steak with mash potatoes and green beans, and Chicken Pot Pie with yes you guessed it. Melvin went for the meatloaf, Brad chose a meat and chicken kabob that I hope was better than it looked, and my wife, a.k.a.,Love Muffin chose the trout that was smothered with Pineapple salsa and other stuff Personally, I don't like food that is smothered in anything. The food, as I expected, was mediocre. The waitstaff were very friendly, polite, and came right away after noticing all our waving hands that were visible over a lot of empty tables. It's not fine dining but if you have a large family and a budget, you can't go wrong with Hungry's for dinner.
