It's great to have a dentist that's reassuring and helpful. I've had a lot of bad experiences with dentists because nowadays most of them feel like car salesmen. I was really procrastinating and dreading another visit to a dentist( I was traumatized by a…read moredentist as a child), the last 2 dentists I went to(in the last 2 years) told me I had 3 cavities, a cracked tooth, 2 caps needed replacing, and one tooth will have to come out. It scared the shit out of me, but, I eventually resigned to the reality that I need to get this done this year to take advantage of my insurance before the beginning of the next year. I was referred to Pamela M Andrews, DDS. by a Manteca city council member(that runs a liquor store locally). When I arrived the staff were very nice, I filled out all the forms, and afterwards was given the most thorough exam I've ever experienced in my life. I was in that chair for about 1.5/2 hours. after my teeth cleaning the dentist came in and went over everything regarding the X rays and the exam. She told me I had no cavities, and I had one tooth that had a slight fracture, and no real need to worry unless it starts giving me problems, some minor bone loss on the tooth that the other dentists wanted to extract...she advised me to come back if it starts to cause me any pain, otherwise, I'm good to go, she gave me a bag of dental care goodies and said she'll see me in 6 months. I highly recommend Pamela M Andrews DDS and her staff, they seem exponentially more honest than the two dentists I saw before I came to her.

Since when does a "FREE consultation" suddenly become NOT free because you didn't hand over X-rays that had nothing to do with the consultation itself? The best part? I went to two other dental offices for Invisalign consultations, and guess what? Neither one charged me for the consultation. So this definitely doesn't feel like some standard industry practice. If there are conditions attached to your "free consultation," SAY THAT UP FRONT. Don't tell patients something is free and then come up with a charge afterward. That's incredibly misleading and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth -- and ironically, that's saying something about a dental office. I'm paying the charge because I don't want to deal with the headache of having it sent to collections, NOT because I agree that I should have been charged. There's a big difference. I walked in expecting a free Invisalign consultation and walked out feeling like I had just been baited into a bill. Maybe the next time, just be upfront about your fees instead of calling something "free" and attaching surprise conditions afterward. Absolutely ridiculous. I won't be coming back, and I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone.

I had even seen another dentist in town a month ago, but instantly knew I needed to find another office. I'm so glad I did! From the very first phone call, the front desk staff made me feel comfortable. They patiently answered all of my questions about insurance coverage, bonding, cleanings, crowns, and more. Their kindness and professionalism over the phone is what won me over--and they were just as wonderful in person. The office itself is beautiful and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease. The dentist is both knowledgeable and efficient, and most importantly, she never made me feel bad for falling behind on my dental visits. She quickly created a treatment plan that was both fast and reasonable, and I was able to see the hygienist the very next day! Speaking of the hygienist--wow. He's truly in a league of his own. Gentle, thorough, and he even managed to make a deep cleaning fun! That's a first for me. Later that same day, I went back for a crown replacement. The dentist wasn't sure if the tooth could be saved (since I had braces for six years with the same crown), but she did it. Truly a lifesaver! It's been 2 and a half years since I saw my regular dentist. (I moved) When I finished filing out the forms, I was waiting on the receptionist to give me the Hippa to read when a girl in tech uniform comes out and says, "I'm taking her to the back." Didn't say hello or even ask my name. (clearly they don't get a lot of clients ). She then started taking x-rays. I've had enough x-rays done to know that there's more effort to it than what she was putting in. It was clear she didn't know what she was doing. She kept taking repeat shots and exposing me to unnecessary radiation. On top of that, she wasn't friendly. I thought, "How did she get hired?" Then the dentist comes over to view the X-rays. Didn't acknowledge me at all. They spoke among themselves as if I wasn't in the room. The dentist then briefly says hello and looks into my mouth. He then takes a phone call and walks off. After a minute I heard whispers behind me. I turned around and It was the tech girl whispering to the another tech giggling. They dispersed like insects when she saw me turn around. She then goes back to her computer and tried playing it off saying "the computer's acting up". I got up and walked out to the front and told the receptionist to please have them delete my x-rays. While on the phone, the dentist says "you can't delete them." I ignored him and kept talking to the receptionist who was actually trying to LISTEN to what I was saying. I told her that I came to the wrong place. This is a very unprofessional establishment. She was the only one who apologized for how they treated me while the dentist just watched.
