I was referred to Dr. Silva's office for a 3D x-ray of a failing prior dental treatment. The office staff was warm and welcoming. The office is a bit small, but tastefully decorated and I loved the big windows with tropical plants in the exam rooms. The specialized X-ray was different than others I've had. You stand up with your face and head positioned while biting down on a small mouthpiece while the scanner revolves around your face. The process was painless and completed quickly. I was genuinely interested and curious to see my results and Dr. Silva took the time to show me and answer any questions I had. It was very informative and interesting and it calmed my anxieties. No doubt that Gary is a fine dentist. I too would've given him five stars prior to my last attempted treatment from him, however, when you are deceived about a diagnosis, SEVERE GUM DISEASE, as I was, and the subsequent way I was treated after missing an appointment, because of a serious fall the night before, was an unfair and disgraceful way to treat a patient. After cancelling my appointment after my fall, I called to make another appointment, and the receptionist said no, that I would not be able to make another appointment. When I was unable to schedule another deep cleaning appointment, I searched for and found another dentist. I was scared about my startling diagnosis from Gary and wanted to follow up as soon as possible. I was told by Gary that my gum disease was life threatening and the deep cleaning treatment should be done as soon as possible. After getting a VERY thorough examination from my new dentist and hygienist, true professionals, unlike any I had ever received from Gary's office, and a cleaning as well, AND a finding out from my new dentist that I did NOT HAVE GUM DISEASE, prompted me to write this review for the good of the community. I also had some other issues with this dentist. Two of my fillings fell out soon after my treatment. Getting a cleaning from a professional who explains everything they are doing while giving you a cleaning never happened at Gary's office. Gary gets great reviews for his dental work, as he should, but when he's trying to pull a fast one on a good and loyal patient, that's another thing. Be wary of any out of the blue diagnosis Gary might give you and please get a second opinion. Gary tried to pull a fast one on me, but a better dentist prevailed. Sorry you missed the money from this treatment Gary. Please stop trying to rip off your patients. My new dentist said no, you don't have gum disease, not even close. NO YOU DON'T HAVE GUM DISEASE AND YOU DON'T NEED A DEEP CLEANING TREATMENT. Deep cleaning treatments are usually done in three sessions, each costing over $300, or more. And yes, Gary's office is small and hard to get to if you have any trouble walking. Why he stays in such a small space and keeps this hard to get to office, in the rain and heat of the Lodi sun during the Summer, is a mystery. Surely they can afford a larger office with adequate parking and easy entry? It seems we all get comfortable and trust medical professionals, especially ones that get 5 star ratings. Beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing. I was deceived by Gary. It's nice that Gary gets five star reviews but it's not nice to lie and deceive his loyal and trusting patient. Gary, please stop ripping off your good and loyal patients! You gave me a very bad and wrong diagnosis that was false and deceptive, so that you could add a little more cash flow to your practice. Of course Gary will deny all of this, but when another dentist says I was given a wrong diagnosis, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, it is only fitting and proper that I post this review. All of this disgusts me and angers me. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Silva and his team. They run the office like a well-oiled machine and everyone is so nice. I had put off getting a couple of fillings because I had such bad experiences in the past with dentists but Dr. Silva has changed my view on teeth care. I went in for my first filling and was surprised how quickly and efficiently he worked all while checking in with me periodically to make sure I was comfortable. It was literally half the time of my old dentist and I didn't have any issues with my bite sitting differently (which always happened in the past). I had such a great experience that when the office called to remind me of my second appointment to get the other fillings done, I was actually excited. Absolutely amazing dentist! I had my first appointment today for a full set of x-rays and exam. The experience was wonderful and informative from beginning to end. I can honestly say that this exam was the most thorough and comprehensive dental experience I have ever had and I am 57. Dr. Silva and his team are very patient in answering questions, allaying fears and presenting all options for specific areas of concern. It is obvious from the start that he really cares about his patients. He is a great listener and has an ease in his communication and personality. I broke a molar (AKA cracked tooth syndrome) from grinding. It is difficult to diagnose because the tiny defect can't be detected with x-rays. First dentist I went to actually treated the wrong tooth! Second dentist couldn't get an accurate impression for a crown. Thank Goodness I finally found Dr. Silva. The crown he placed still solid as a rock 10+ years later. More recently, he treated my TMJ. First I went to an oral surgeon to evaluate my jaw pain and he sent me to an endodontist for a root canal- another misdiagnosis! I should have talked to Dr. Silva straight away. He treated the problem with a night guard that works like magic. Our small community of Lodi is very fortunate to have an oral health care provider of such high caliber. So I do referrals for a living and found Dr Silva myself. I mainly chose him for convenience and my insurance was accepted. I at first glance thought this looks like any other dentist office. BOY WAS I WRONG! This is not only a dental office, but a very happy family. I arrived a little early for my appointment and was greeted merrily, taken back immediately and was given all the respect a new family member should receive. The office staff was very knowledgeable and personable. They spoke honestly and highly of their provider. They completed all the clinical marks that an office is supposed to, such as, explaining what they are doing and stopping periodically to make sure I was ok. Dr. Silva broke my front tooth below the gum line and proceeded to lie to the insurance company stating that he had advised me of the potential risks of placing a crown over a tooth that had been fractured to that extent when in fact he hurriedly put a substandard crown over that tooth and sent me out of his office saying that the crown would potentially last my lifetime. It was under a year when I started having complications. He showed very poor character and is all about ego and self-interest. read more

Soooooo had to Yelp about Dr. Silva!! Had a wisdom tooth extracted today - seriously was the best dental experience I have EVER had - I know that sounds hilarious, but it's the truth! Never felt the shots.......(he tricks you and you never know it's coming LOL!) and the extraction took maybe 2 minutes - not exaggerating at all. I've never had a tooth pulled and started getting a little apprehensive about it driving to their office (and I drive quite a distance to see them as he is definitely worth it!)....... but wow - not an issue at all.
