Had a very good experience here I recently just switched over from a previous dentist in elk Grove…read morein which I had a very bad experience switching over to Lodi family dentistry was so easy. The staff is so nice especially the lady that attends to the front so friendly and helpful and guided me through the process. I had to go back and get two crowns. The whole process was so fast and simple. I definitely do recommend this office if you are looking to switch.

I feel Lodi Family Dentistry was a very disappointing experience for me…read more On Thursday, April 11, 2024, I went to Lodi family dentistry, hoping to get some relief from an excruciating pain coming from my lower jaw. I was taking a shot with them because I'm new in the area and just took the first dental office who could take me. I was happy with the initial customer service as they accommodated me by seeing me a day earlier than my scheduled appointment. The initial exam with Xrays and assessment went well. However, when the dentist couldn't find where my pain was coming from, I was given a referral and antibiotics and told they would call for me. Once I got up from the chair, I was given the number to call myself and the door. No one helped me with the follow-up. I was in so much pain, and no one bothered to help me with the next steps. I left work with extreme pain, hoping to get help. Instead, I got a routine exam that used up my insurance visit for nothing. Feeling dejected and still in pain, I walked into the clinic next door and asked if they could see me and they said they could offer only similar services as Lodi Dental and recommended I seek the specialist they provided. The receptionist there called around and tried to see when was the soonest I could be seen at a few local specialists in the area and apologized that Lodi Dentistry did not help me further. I feel Lodi Dentistry left a patient unattended. Why was this? I'm not sure, but as a Black man, new to the area, in extreme pain, and a person who holds a doctorate in education, I feel my judgment in situations are pretty accurate. I'm a director of diversity, equity, and inclusion and sit on the legislative board for the state. I called back before I walked next door, but they apparently went to lunch right after I walked out of the door. Was there lunch more important than my pain? Whatever the reason, I feel this was a missed moment. I was looking at getting braces through them, but seeing how they couldn't care for me when I needed them most felt very uncomfortable, allowing them to have long-term care for me. No one called to check on me, and this was truly disappointing. I ended up going to Kaiser and received some pain medication to help me until the specialist could see me. There are literally over a dozen offices on the same block as Lodi Dentistry, and I will definitely never return there and recommend that any person of color find someone else to do business with. Look at their website. There are no people of color there. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

First off I have a huge anxiety when it comes to my teeth and dentists, sitting in the chair for…read moremore then 10 mins I go nuts , and all squirmy. Not sure if it the ADHD or just in general I'm a figgety person but also don't like my mouth being worth on. Very sensitive teeth. Anyways that out of the way, the front desk was super nice. The lobby was decent size not cramped, just right and some photos on the way. I had a slight wait from my appointment time. It wasn't much, but a staff member kept me up to date on time frame. Like 15 or 10 mins. I mean it wasn't bad. Now let's get to the dentist, * Pratik Makadia* , super nice guy, laid back, not to judgemental , just enough to help me get motivated to take care of my teeth better, but a super nice easy way of doing it. Highly recommend him if you do go. Now the visit itself, scared and crawling out of my skin. But the staff was super nice and friendly, and quick about things. They had a lot of cool tech stuff the when I was a kid well, never was around , and the tech just wasn't there. I'm in my 40s just fyi. The lady at the end of my visit went over all my bad teeth and costs, ouch. lol. But I knew I haven't been to the dentist in soooo long. But anyways, I really recommend you trying this place out. Not sure why it has a 3 ish star rating. So far I think they are very friendly, quick with their work but not crazy fast there in a hurry. Try them out, get that exam done. I go back next week for a cleaning.

He went in and they took X-rays and told him he needed to have root planing and scaling done. Price: $1000. Decided to call my own family dentist and it was only $160 out of pocket (with insurance). Horrible business.

I had struggled…read morewith anxiety all my life and the fear I had to dentists prevented me from going on a regular base. This 5 star review is only because Dr. Ung is amazing. Carolina and Monse, the assistants who assisted her on my treatments, are amazing. Her Hygienist is a great guy that chats with you and makes you feel welcome and comfortable. As for the front desk crew, my experience was negative and full of lies. For my first visit on May 12th, 2021 Dr. Ung knew my fear and anxiety and prescribed me a medication to help me be calm. Even do her front desk lady, not Jessica but the other one, said she had sent the prescription to Target, it was not available. I got there super anxious and worried but Dr. Ung and Monse were amazing! Of course I was able to get the medication after my appointment when it was finally sent to target pharmacy. De.Ung, Carolina, Monse and the hygienist are super professional and I personally would love to continue my and my family's treatment there. Unfortunately my negative experience with the front office lady is just too much. I never got a response on what my two insurance coverage would be, what my copayment were going to be ahead of time because, she always claims she had not received a response from the insurance. Not even for my youngest son fillings we got the co-pay amount ahead of time.. aren't dentist offices supposed to give you some information or an estimate right there on your first 2 visits? I mean, what if I don't have the $ to pay for a filling.. just because I have signed documents stating I'm responsible for any financial portion my insurance won't cover, it doesn't mean I have to go in blindly without knowing if I will be able to afford the procedure! Same thing happened when one of my sons needed the pre-authorization for his braces..I had to call my insurance and get them the documents they needed because this lady had not submitted things according... it seemed she had no interest in getting a patient the braces he needed! In my case, I'm still waiting for the actual numbers. I only got estimates from her... and that was on my last visit when I couldn't get my tooth prepped for a crown..since I had no idea what the insurance would cover and what my cost would be..she came in with an estimate of cost after having weeks to request and submit what the insurance needed, I still had nothing. After months, she still "couldn't" obtain a response from my insurance. Funny thing is, that while at the office on my last visit, while waiting for my you youngest son, I called the insurance, they told me they were missing several documents, they had pending claims due to lack of documentation and gave me a list of documents needed. I gave the list to this lady and almost two weeks later, I still have no response and no information. They claim they are short staff..but to me and based on my experience, this is just someone who cannot get the job done on a timely manner. Is unfortunate that I had finally found a great dentist with whom I felt comfortable and who I trusted and now my family and I, have to stop being her patients due to the lack of professionalism and dedication of one person. I'll attach pictures of text messages exchanged so that ppl can see, how their response changed and how urgent things seemed once I told them I was going to reach out to Dr. Ung. Sorry. But this is my awful experience with someone at your office. I know this does not reflect in any way your professionalism and amazing skill with your patients. Thank you, Dr. Susana for making me feel at ease every time you were working on my teeth and I'm sorry but you need to know before you loose more patients.
