Came here to try the famous Blackberry Pie Matcha and thoroughly enjoyed it! We arrived on a Sunday at around 11am. There was a bit of a line, but I was honestly expecting it to be longer. Staff were very fast and friendly! The Blackberry Pie Matcha is such a treat! The matcha itself is great quality and it really does taste like pie. I personally didn't find it too sweet. I would absolutely get it again, but wouldn't wait in a very long line for it! read more

The blackberry pie matcha was decadent. I got it with oat milk. The blackberry flavor really comes through and the I love the taste of the "pie". I can also taste the matcha which was pretty rich. The service was fast and good. Nice ambiance. Not too much seating but it's connected ro a clothing store so there's some space to browse while you wait for your drink. Wish the AC was a little stronger tho lol. read more

This place was one of the busiest coffee stops we visited in New York. We came on a Saturday around 1 PM and the line was already stretching all the way through the shop... and when we sat down for our drinks.. the line was out the door. We waited about 20 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for our drinks. Seating is extremely limited, so we got lucky when a table opened up right as we got our order (seems like a common theme for us thankfully!!) They also have a small clothing shop next door, connected to them but not sure if it's owned by them. We ordered the Coconut Americano, Matcha Yuzu, and an Iced Americano. The Coconut Americano was so so good. It was incredibly smooth and refreshing, with a clean coconut flavor that tasted like actual fresh coconut water rather than the artificial sweetness you get from the coconut juices at the store. The coconut complemented the espresso very well. The Iced Americano was also excellent. Bright, citrusy notes came through clearly, and the coffee was smooth and easy to drink without tasting bitter!! The Matcha Yuzu was the kind of disappointing... I was excited for the yuzu, but honestly couldn't taste much of it. The mint completely dominated the drink, making it taste more like a mint mojito than a matcha yuzu. Would I wait 35 minutes again just for a drink here? Probably not.... But I'd say for its reputation it's worth trying at least once. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon. The line wasn't too bad, it was maybe a 20 minute wait. We tried the blackberry Matcha, which was made very quickly. It was one of the best matchas I've ever had! It was so smooth, and the blackberry syrup was a great combination with the matcha. I also loved that it wasn't too sweet. There were a few tables inside but there wasn't a huge seating area. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

Went in on a rainy morning and had no wait. Service was super quick and there are just a couple seating spots in the shop. The matcha was fabulous! Definitely more of a treat than a traditional matcha but tastes ridiculously like an actual slice of blackberry pie, although was not overly sweet. I do think it is worth a try for every matcha enthusiast as it is super unique! read more

Giving this matcha cafe a rating is interesting... On the one hand, it was very difficult to taste virtually ANY matcha flavor in the drink. Usually, the quality of the matcha flavor plays a massive role in what rating I give a matcha place. But this place might actually be the one exception, their blackberry pie syrup was so one-of-a-kind and tasted so genuinely like blackberry pie that it was enough to have me enjoy the drink SO MUCH that I actually somehow didn't mind the lack of matcha flavor that much??? I would say come here if you want a good drink, because it is good (in the same way Taz Matcha in Seattle makes good drinks but not good matcha), but do not come if you are a Matcha purist. read more

Stopped by on a whim at around 2:30pm on a Tuesday. There was still a bit of a line but it moved quickly and the drink came out fast. I ordered the instagram-famous Blackberry Pie Matcha Latte with dairy milk for $8.71 (alternative milks are +$1.) They use Kettl matcha which I buy for myself. The color is pretty good but looks like the powder may have oxidized a bit. They may be pre-whisking since the service is so fast. The early sips with the full blackberry pie experience were the best, towards the end it was mostly a smooth but maybe a bit watered down matcha flavor with occasional tart blackberry. I didn't ask how many grams they use but I didn't feel much of a boost. I wouldn't go out of my way and for a fancy drink I think I'd rather hit the Matchaful nearby, but I didn't feel like i'd paid for a cup full of slightly green milk. I think the ideal audience for this would be someone who would otherwise be going to Blank Street because you'll get a trendy flavor but a much better matcha. For the real matcha snobs it's probably a one off. For me, the specialty matcha options are plentiful in the city and there are too many to try to swing back around here (though a blueberry pie... maybe that could tempt me.) read more

We visited Rhythm Zero on a (late) Thursday morning, when it wasn't too busy. The interior was sleek and modern with a small amount of indoor seating. For drinks, I ordered the Pear Brown Sugar Latte. I liked the flavor but wished I had asked for an extra shot of espresso, since the beverage was more sweet than it was strong. Aesthetic, high quality, and cool people. It's one of those places you step in and (if you're like me) you'll at least be won over by the decor. The matcha was by far the most "good looking" matcha I got on my trip to NYC, I got the regular matcha and blackberry pie one which was too sweet after half the drink. They do give pretty good amounts and we also tried their espresso tonic drink which looked beautiful and tasted pretty good. We actually got some people near us to comment and ask what drink we got because they were won over by just how it looked. Their vegan cookie was pretty yummy too. Would recommend and come back, just not an amazing place to stay for a long time as there is limited seating. read more

Lived up to the hype!!! It was so delicious, rich, decadent, matcha flavor still pushing through, look at the green!!! Not overpowered by the syrup at all. The store is connected to Bandit and I wanted to go there anyways for a long time so it worked out. It was smaller, there was a line outside, and it's more of a take-out place but still nice and maybe 20-30 min wait on a Sunday afternoon? I will be a regular here! read more

It's a good latte, but not a "wait in line 20-30 mins for it" good. I got the Pear brown sugar latte and the blackberry matcha latte. You could definitely taste the pear in the latte and it offered a unique taste. Not bad unique but just interesting. Other than that it was your average milk latte. Was standing on line for Mama's Too when I saw someone walk by with an amazing tricolor matcha. Of course was told, "from the place across the street with the equally as long line." Maaaaannnn. Well, I was already there, so why not. Literally everyone was walking out with this amazing looking Blackberry Pie Matcha. Comes in one size only with a variety of milk choices. I went with skim and had the barista make mine less sweet, so I had one pump of blackberry syrup instead of two. It was literally perfect, and tasted exactly like a rainbow cookie. Really loved the blackberry matcha. Not necessarily for the matcha itself but the mix of their blackberry jam and matcha was such a good combination. The coconut coffee was good too but I love a good sweet coffee and theirs was just not enough for me. Would be good choice if you prefer a more bitter coffee. read more

It was only right to make a stop at rhythm zero on my most recent trip to the city. Their blackberry pie Matcha has been blowing up all over TikTok and I needed to make a stop on my Macha tour anyway. The flavors were layered so perfectly in the drink. Of course, the drink comes out aesthetically pleasing at first, with the flavors separated. I tried the blackberry pie syrup and the fact that they were able to get it down to the buttery flaky crust blows my mind. Once I mixed the drink, everything complemented each other and it was done in two minutes! read more

I really liked the black berry matcha but it got really sweet towards the end. I do really like the interior design and it does say no laptops allowed so no studying there! Ofc I had to try their blackberry matcha pie. They only had skim and whole milk, I would have preferred 2% but got the whole. Subtle blackberry flavor which I appreciate. Matcha was smooth. I sat and read for a bit. Lots of people coming in and out but the signs made it seem their lines get long and out the door. I was there mid day on a wedn so I'm sure they are packed mornings and weekends. read more

I will be the first to admit that I didn't get the hype behind Rhythm Zero-I saw it so much on social media yet had never stepped in to at least read the menu or give them a chance. Safe to say-I get it. I ordered an iced maple sea salt oat latte and wow I truly can't wait to go back and order this drink-it's literally Fall in a cup! It is quite popular even on a weekday early in the week and the seating area can get crowded, but all in all it's chef's kiss and so worth! Will definitely encourage people to stop by and support, especially given what they've been through thanks to weird NYC health department regulations. I have been to the Brooklyn location but since I go to school in the area, I wanted to see it out I didn't know it was attached to a running apparel store (shares doors, has different awnings though in the same style). The noise from the store doesn't impact the cafe in my opinion so you can still chill. It was lunch time so it was a bit full. There were tables that had no laptop signs so it was mostly people reading books or having conversations. There was a limited number of pastries available as opposed to the other store. But I was there for the matcha. On the special offerings they had a blackberry pie ish matcha. It was one of the best drinks I had. The matcha was properly smooth and not clumpy of course but it was the balance of the earthy matcha with juicy blackberry that makes me want to go back. I don't even eat blackberries like that to be honest. Though I personally wouldn't stay in the cafe, I would gladly get a drink to go. read more

I was craving coconut and coffee so I decided why not try something quick since I was working that day nearby. Service was great, very helpful and they provide information what they didn't have in the menu. Ambiance was nice, very tight space though so not enough seating which is okay if you're just gonna grab a coffee or match on the go. I had ordered a coco americana & I loved it. Coconut water tasted amazing & not too sweet which I loved. Once the coffee starts making it's end to the cup, it taste very strong but you can still taste the mixture of both. The Iced Blueberry Matcha is super popular and I can totally understand why. The matcha is earthy and slightly grassy while blueberry has sweet and tart elements. I think if you want a yummy, sweet drink this is the place for you. But if you want good-quality, strong tasting matcha you won't get that. The drink is delicious, somehow it truly does taste like blackberry pie, but that's all it tastes like. It is glorified milk rather than matcha. I think for $12 it's not worth the price, but it is aesthetically pleasing and tastes good. The service was speedy, and the cashier was kind. Pretty feral on the weekends but really enjoy this place. Signature pear brown sugar latte and the blueberry matcha are both go-tos. Matcha is always bright green and made properly. Space is tight but they have multiple seating nooks throughout. Service is efficient. Definitely recommend! read more

Finally made my way to the West Village to check out Rhythm Zero's viral coconut americano drink. As someone who likes her coffee with milk, I was initially nervous about how it would come together. After giving it a good mix, I loved how the coffee and coconut water came together. Coffee flavors were prominent and did not feel diluted nor too rich. I appreciated how it wasn't too sweet. While I'm a huge matcha fan, they feature Kettl's matcha so I felt like the coffee based drinks would be more unique on my first visit. The blueberry matcha sure did look good tho! I liked the chic, minimalistic vibes and decor. Staff were not friendly but fine. Some seating available but they did not allow computers/laptops on the weekends. I must rave about this Coconut Americano!! Firstly, do you see how beautiful the drink looks!? And the espresso is light and airy, almost like it's whipped! I'm not sure how they achieved that consistency, but this was my first time having anything like this. Before taking your first sip, be sure to thoroughly stir the drink. Upon your first sip, it'll be a refreshing experience. It's not sweet whatsoever and the coconut water gives the drink a delicious taste. I think it also makes the drink feel less "heavy", as there's no milk, which is perfect for those who are lactose. If you're a fan of coconut water and coffee, you def have to try this drink! read more

Visited my friend who introduced me to matcha years ago. Seeing a lot of new hype around matcha and some places don't do it justice... however, Rhythm Zero really knows how to provide a delicious matcha beverage. I'm more into sweeter matcha lattes (aficionados don't come for me) & really enjoyed the blueberry puree matcha latte with oat milk. The matcha was still very decadent and not too overwhelming. I would like to see a little more matcha to milk ratio but I was already on my second matcha of the day so I had no complaints! This on a warm summer day really helped me get through all the NYC walking. The baristas were super nice and had a nice candle from the candle shop next door! read more

I got the seasonal matcha they had (blackberry pie matcha latte) and the taste was not very good for almost $10 a cup. I did not like the aftertaste and the syrup (maybe it was the pie syrup ?) tasted very artificial - I threw out most of my drink. My friend got the matcha americano and it tasted like nothing. I had high expectations but we were both pretty disappointed in terms of the taste and quality of the drinks here. read more

We stopped in twice, one day we got a hot latte and the next an iced maple latte. The maple flavor did not come through though which was a little disappointing. Good option if you're in the area and love a solid chocolate chip cookie!

I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I walked around looking at everything, the music very loud and hard for people sitting to have conversations, the place is very colorful and with many PR sayings, however the place also feels very Americanized with the music and layout. I still awaited my name to be called minutes later, but nothing. I approached the cashier, who was just standing there, to ask about my coffee and she wasn't able to tell me so she asked the barista steps away from her. He pointed to a cofre sitting on their counter, it had my name, and when I pointed out that I was waiting for my name to be called, she shrugged her shoulders and smiled like she didn't care. The coffee by now was not all that hot, I never tasted any rum or coquito flavor and felt I wasted my time at this place. What's more upsetting is that I left a nice tip for a service that was not provided. They couldn't even bring the coffee ti my table once they realized it was sitting there and they forgot to call my name. You can find better service elsewhere.
