I was appalled that after paying good money to see the Boxmasters last night that there was no seating. We arrived early, had to stand in line to get into the venue and were appalled that when we got inside - NO seats. We ended up standing for total +3.5 hours and left before the end of the show. They obviously don't care about their clientele. Likely will not ever go back. read more

There is ample parking, their sound system is fantastic, and their bartenders and entire staff are friendly and accommodating. This place is everything a blues bar should be -- from the music to the somewhat-worn ambiance and minimal cover charge. The average age is well over 40, the parking is free, there's a huge and well-used smokers patio and there's an active dance floor. The music is great, the drinks are cheap, and the food truck out back is pretty good. If you go expecting a "nice place", you may be disappointed. If you go expecting great blues in a classic blues venue, you'll have a blast. read more

If you wanna see bands play live for ten bucks in a place that's not crowded go on Wednesday's. Went last night. Good music, decently priced drinks. Clean. I like that there's a no smoking rule inside. There is a smoking area outside. 21+ for those saying it's not women friendly, we went on a Wednesday and I saw a couple women alone and no one bothered them. Bring a friend if you're nervous about it but Wednesday's it doesn't get packed at all and u can enjoy music without the fear of a ton of people. read more

This is probably my favorite music venue in Phoenix! When I moved here 12 years ago I was looking for a music blues and jazz venue because they came from Chicago where they are prevalent almost everywhere. Then I met Bob Corritore the harmonica player virtuoso on my first visit and I was thrilled. He's an awesome person to host this venue with great bands and entertainers. I am a musician myself with several bands and I know quality like this when I see it! Blues? LOL I came here to check out some rock. This is an intimate venue, in which you can expect to be fully enveloped by sound. There's no room to really move around, as the stage was clearly designed for more chill shows. Learn to look cool like yours truly by sipping a PBR and standing around looking at your shoes the whole time. In between sets, grab a drink from the bar. Prices are very reasonable for a music venue, but the beer on tap is WAY too warm. Seriously, they should adjust that. You can also recover your hearing on the spacious patio, just beware the perpetual cloud of smoke. Overall, I like this place. I'd come back. It's got character. read more

This place is ALWAYS a great time. They have great bands roll through and the cover charge isn't bad either. I come here whenever I feel like dancing the night away, there's always room on the floor. As for the décor, it's a bit of a dive, it has the feel of a legion club or something along those lines. Aside from that, the crowd is cool and everyone is quick to make friends and join in friendly, fun-loving conversations. Drinks are stiff and they always have specials... plus $2 PBR, just sayin. read more

I have been here quite a number of times. Went there Saturday to listen to the Soul Power Band with a friend. The music is set to start at 9:00, but it is "highly suggested" to get there early if one wants a place to sit since it is a small place and fills quickly. Therefore, got there when the doors open at 8:00 and had the pick of the place to sit. It is what could be considered a dive bar but that's what adds to the place, kind of a throw back to I don't know what since it is a jazz blues club. The person who runs the sound board does a darn good job. He doesn't make it so loud it hurts the ears. The drinks are what could be expected for the club and the service is efficient enough. read more

I'm pretty particular about 'where' i see shows. A crappy venue can kill a good artist and put up a good fight against a great one. Fortunately, The Rhythm Room needn't worry about quashing the entertainment value of one of their nationally touring acts. And the RR really does get some of the best independent acts on tour. For artists worthy of smallish venues, this place should be as legendary as the Whiskey in Hollywood, but unfortunately, its located on, like the kiddie ride portion of Los Angeles, central Phoenix. For a venue, they have really smokin deals on alcohol, like PBR for $2.50. Considering that you couldn't get that deal ANYWHERE playing live music, i consider it a humongous bargain. They have a smoking patio that you can still hear the music during those 5 mins, and the venue is easy to get in and out of. It DOES tend to get crowded once the main act is on, especially near the bar, but I've never waited more than a couple of minutes for a drink and i can always find a good view of the stage. When acts like Bob Schneider come around, the place is ROWDY. Indie acts like VHS or Beta and Midlake are near priceless to see in such a small joint. and sometimes shows that pique too much interest will be moved to their big cousin Marquee. read more

This is a great place for live music. Just be aware that it is small venue with very limited and I mean very limited seating which are bar stools along the wall and bar area. General admission should mean everyone gets a fair shot of seating, however, stools as well as standing wall space gets held for "friends that aren't there yet". We were probably in the first 1/4 of the line the evening were there and yet there was no seating because they were being held. That just doesn't seem right. Additionally for those that have never been, it should be clear you will be standing for probably the whole show and chances are will be shoulder to shoulder....there were a couple of folks with canes and not one person would give up their seating, thus I took stars away for the fact that the manager should have seen and done something about that. read more

My review is based on personal experience over the last 30 years. I love the Rhythm Room and I love Bob Corritore (and his Sunday Blue's Show on KJZZ). Sometimes I go over and just stare at the empty building these days. I think of all the great shows I've seen there and I can't wait for the place to re-open again. It was truly my home away from home. Sadly, I just read a story stating this may not happen until the fall at the soonest! Apparently there continue to be financial issues and he has gone back to GoFundMe again. You're the greatest Bob, and a cornerstone asset to the music community. Please do whatever you have to do (short of selling the building) to bring The Valley's Blues Icon back to life. Donations, pandemic loans, whatever... I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands of live music fans waiting and we all need you! I'll see you when it happens, and please save me that end seat near the door, brother. read more

New to Phoenix from Los Angeles looking for something to do and being a Blues lover I came across this place. Little did I know this is the "Spot"! My girl Deb Ryder was in town playing with the Delgado Brothers and put on an amazing show as always! I was welcomed by Lindsay the bar manager which really made me feel welcome to a new but familiar area for me! Everyone working here was amazing and seeing the upcoming calendar some really good shows and amazing talent! Fantastic show - ROBBEN FORD! A line started approximately an hour before doors which is expected since the RR is a small, local bar/venue. Seating was very comfortable with two-chair tables, towards the back a couple step riser with addl seating then the bar. Comfortable outdoor smoking area. Venue is easily accessible with ample parking. Look forward to returning. Definitely appears to be the place for Blues in Phoenix. Being from a true blues area, I've been a bit disappointed with the Blues scene in the Phoenix/Tucson area but the Rhythm Room saved me! read more

Rhythm Room is one of the funkiest spots in Phoenix. It is definitely the 'go to' spot for the Blues. The owner / harmonica player, Bob Corritore, spins the Blues on KJZZ (91.5FM) on Sundays. When I listen, I am reminded of the Blues Clubs in Harlem during the mid 60's (live dance bands). The RR crowd loves to dance, so bring your 'dancing' shoes. One regular used to roller skate to the music. That's how unusual a place it is. At times, they feature name artists / groups. Check their website. Cover charge is usually about $10. There is no drink minimum. Generally, there is a food truck outside. RR does not serve food. Go and Enjoy! read more

Lets face it, Phoenix does not have the most amazing music scene in the universe, and with that we get crappy music venues.. although out of the few we have to choose from, Rhythm Room might be my favorite. Even though its kinda small, they have everything you could ask for in a music venue.. great sound system, decent bathrooms - yeah I said it, really cool bartenders and really great drink specials. I actually just saw a Tweet that called their specials "infamous".. either way, this place is the jam, literally. Three complaints: 1. Its hot as balls inside. 2. The door girl has the personality of a napkin and is extremely unfriendly. 3. You cant take your drinks out to the closed off patio and unless its some zoning law or whatever, thats pretty lame.. Aside from that, im a fan! Now if only we could get more bands to stop out here. read more

This was my second time to the Rhythm Room and it was fantastic! We saw "Mother Mother" this time and "Patrick Watson" the time before. Both performances were stellar and Rhythm Room is such a great venue. It creates an intimate experience between you and the performers. You really get to hear the music and connect. It's also nice that there's a bar, so you get some drinks while you watch. The location is pretty good and the parking isn't terrible. The bathrooms could use some updating, but overall, for an older and more intimate music venue, this place has got it going on. I cannot stress how nice it is that this place is smaller and more of an experience than when you go to a venue that accommodates thousands upon thousands. (Waay too crowded!) I love it when bands go to the Rhythm Room! I'll definitely be back. read more

I want you to be like the guy in the rated R movie, you know, the guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from. Okay? You're a bad man. You're a bad man, Mikey. You're a bad man, bad man." Maybe I'm alone here - but when I stepped inside this joint I felt like I was on the Swingers movie set, which is easily one of my favorite movies. I have never been to any jazz lounges in L.A., but this is without a doubt one of the coolest places I've been in Phoenix. Whiskey Kiss opened for Nikki Hill - and I was QUITE impressed with both. Seeing these guys play for a few hours for a $10 cover while drinking $2 cans o' PBR just doesn't get much better on a Wednesday night. I'm not cool enough to call myself rockabilly, and I wasn't even sure I'd enjoy Nikki's music - but you just can't help but jam when she starts crooning. I mention the artists, because I imagine there are very few places that could book that kind of talent for a reasonable price on any day of the week. Bravo Rhythm Room, your service was friendly, your beer was cold, your bathrooms were clean (but seriously get the urinal fixed) and the ambiance was electric. Can't wait to go back!! read more
