Finally made it to the Rhythm Room

This place has been on my Phoenix bucket list! What a cool live music venue! Cash cover at the door so that was a little inconvenient, but otherwise it was awesome. You need to get there fairly early to get a table depending on The band I'm guessing. The band was incredible. Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns. If you love a good fuck band you need to see them play. Drinks were average price for Phoenix.

This is a great venue to visit if you like being up and close to the band. The Rhythm Room has been around for as long as I can remember and holds a couple hundred people. They have been voted "Best Club for Blues" in Phoenix in previous years. My buddy and I used to come here quite regularly to see rockabilly shows before he passed away. Over the years, we saw Dale Watson, Johnny Boyd, JD McPherson, The 5.6.7.8's and The Reverend Horton Heat. I miss catching these shows with that guy. The Rhythm Room can get pretty crowded, but it is a fun venue. There is an area outside that you can hang out to smoke or if you just want to get some fresh air. The only thing that sucks is that the parking lot is really small. Get here early if you want a spot or you have to park across the street on some side street and hope you don't get towed. This area of town is a little sketchy too.

Went to this bar after a dinner date for the first time but will not be my last. I love live music and I love me some Blues. There was some talent on that stage for sure! I'm from the south and moved to Az in November. This place felt like home in many ways. It was a mature crowd , no drama; just good fun and great service at the bar!

I can't believe I have not been here before! Had the opportunity on Sunday evening to see Taj Farrant who is an unbelievable guitarist at just 15 years old. Never saw Hendrix or Prince before, and Sunday, they must have been smiling down on the Rhythm Room. This venue has been around since 1991and if you like the Blues, you need to checkout the venue. The building has a large bar, four walls and a stage. If you are early, you may get to sit on a bar stool or folding chair. It's really not about the ambience, it's about the music and being in a room with many people who appreciate great music.

Service is good . Usually have food truck out side that are good when they have big shows. Clean Bathroom clean . Nice Employees . Fun Dancing

This place is the one of the oldest blues/jazz clubs in Phoenix. It wears its' age with style and grace.... Some would simply call it COOOOL! There's no food except for an occasional food truck but the bar is stocked and the beer is cold. The venue itself provides a stage for acts from a bygone era in music. And God Bless Them for doing so! Bob C, you're a legend.

All Good ! Been their many times when in town from Sonoma County California. Just wish your wine selection was better

I like this venue for listening to blues and rock. It is intimate and the sound is great. Full bar. Great place.

Ask the Community - Rhythm Room

My wife and I were in Phoenix on New Years Eve last year and were looking for a place to dance to blues/ funk bands and found the perfect venue at the Rhythm Room. If we go on another date is it going to be as good?

What?! You're the only judge of that. You need to call them for assurances.

    Is it 21+ only?

    Yes.

    Is the room non-smoking?

There is a little parking lot but we ended up walking from Starving Artist across the street. Upon entry they do have a fairly extensive search/review of IDs. Once in to the narrow entry space, you are kind of bottle necked with the merch tables and then the stage is almost right there -- I wonder if they have ever had a different set up there, it doesn't flow very well -- but anyhow.... I cruised over to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks that were heavily watered down -- should have stuck to beer or shots. The servers were pleasant but not overly helpful basically a bunch of rebels, LOL. The sound inside is fairly decent but perhaps the band couldn't hear themselves so they kept turning up the sound! Luckily they had ear plugs at the bar. Also after standing up for a period of time my old legs were getting tired and also there was a wall of tall people standing in front of me so it was hard to see -- I walked toward the back and there were some tables! Yay! Actually it was easier to see the stage from way back there too and there was an open chair. They have a small patio out the back and you can bring your drinks but they are very strict about only cigg smoking back there -- I saw a couple of ladies getting in trouble for smoking weed -- and then after that the security kept coming out there. Overall it is a decent spot to see a low-mid level band, definitely no frills so don't except a red carpet!! I would like to come back for once of their dance nights -- it looks fun.

Normally everyone is s kind and helpful but last night they didn't seem as happy to be at their job as normal. Maybe it was be it was a totally different type of crowd and music. I will go back because one time out of 4 isn't enough to not give them another chance. The bathrooms were clean and they still provide water so I am very happy about that and the drink prices are not near as expensive as some of the places I have been

Probably not going back to Dick's…read more.. We were visiting both Phoenix and Scottsdale with friends and decided to meet up at Dick's Hideaway for dinner after hearing good things. There were six of us, and we were quoted a 45-minute wait, which seemed reasonable at first. However, their system for managing waits is honestly pretty frustrating. There are no reservations, no text notifications, and no call when your table is ready. You're basically left hovering and guessing. We did make it back in time for our table, but a simple "hey, your table's ready" system would go a long way in making guests feel valued. We were seated around 8 PM after waiting and taken to a large corner booth in the back. Unfortunately, there were still two people from the previous party lingering at the table even after they had paid and the rest of their group had already left. I understand finishing drinks, but it felt inconsiderate given how busy the restaurant was and how long people were waiting. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table, and even then, not everyone in our group was acknowledged right away. Things didn't improve much from there. It took over 30 minutes just to place our food order. From what we could tell, there was only one server handling the entire restaurant. I can definitely empathize with how difficult that must be, but at the same time, when we first arrived, she appeared to be standing near the entrance rather than actively managing tables, which added to the confusion. When the food finally came out, it was very staggered instead of arriving together. I ordered the Taos tenderloin with green beans and fries. The sides were actually great--probably the highlight of the meal--but the steak itself was disappointing. I ordered it medium, but it came out with an overly charred, almost burnt crust that completely overpowered the flavor. The whole dish really needed basic seasoning like salt and pepper to bring it together. The atmosphere also didn't do much to help the experience. It's extremely dark inside--so much so that it's hard to see your food--and the space feels cramped. The layout is also pretty strange and honestly a bit off-putting. There's what appears to be a kitchen area right behind the bar, and then a full kitchen in the back--but what really stood out was the lack of separation near the restroom area. There's no proper door between the kitchen and the bathroom space, and from a small step down off the dining area, you can basically see straight into the kitchen if you wanted to. It just didn't feel very private or well thought out. Another thing that stood out was the portion sizes. While some people might see that as a positive, they were honestly too large--especially for those of us traveling who couldn't take leftovers with us. Slightly smaller portions might not only reduce waste but also help the kitchen keep up with demand and improve overall service speed. Overall, this ended up being more of a one-time experience than a place we'd return to. Between the disorganized wait system, slow and inconsistent service, and underwhelming food, it just didn't live up to the expectations we had going in.

This RoRo staple has gotten even better since the remodel a couple years back! We most recently stopped by for a free First Friday performance, when a lovely quartet took the stage. Seats cleared out quickly during the break, and we were able to grab a nice side view. The acoustics were perfect all throughout the room -- loud enough to be immersed in the music, but quiet enough for groups to easily chat. The gorgeous lighting and velvety curtains behind the stage really add to the ambiance. The staff was super attentive, walking around to take drink and food orders. The food isn't anything crazy, but I still enjoyed the charcuterie plate as little snack (and a way to support this amazing local venue during the free set!). Highly recommend this incredible jazz club!
