I guess the first thing that turned us off is, we were seated outside by the street, the noise was deafening and the exhaust smell was nauseating. 1. I think educating your employees on the difference between a service animal and a pet is key! 2. I don't think any of the servers including the bartender has ever gone through Maricopa County Food Handlers course (rubbing their head, pulling at ill fitting shorts at the crouch, rubbing the face and nose. 3. Serving fresh food, (the cheese was so old it was hard as though it sat out a few days, the almonds tasted like rancid oil) 4. Servers should know the ingredients in each dish (in case of allergies) 5. The short rib entree had very little meat; at that price it was expensive bok choy, there is no mention of mushrooms in the description but they are in the dish I HAVE A MUSHROOM ALLERGY. 6. The cooks should know their meat temps, medium should be medium not well done. 7. I get the theme of the place is strange and the stranger the better but when the server is over weight and bulging out the her scant clothes or the shorts are so short you can see pubic hair, it has gone too far. Came with my husband with kids in two different cars but my Tesla doesn't have a key card, they valeted my husband's car and l asked if I can just follow him they told me that's ok. Once I'm parked some other guy came over and told me I can't park there because it's valet only even though they can't valet my car without a Tesla keycard, so he asked me to leave and park on the street! We ordered a ton of appetizers and everything was yummy. This place is amazing with the size of its outdoor space. It had plenty of seating options, for pita for the winter, ping ping, corn hole. It's a perfect place to gather a group to mix and mingle. After HH, we transferred inside to the bar area to have dinner. The dinner menu had a lot of options. Many of us ordered the Branzino and lasagna. Overall service was friendly and attentive for a group of 10. Great place for gathering w/ friends and family for a night out. Very well-designed open area with multiple areas depending on your group's vibe and desire - a lounge/seating area to gather and share bites/drinks. A outdoor games area for cornhole etc if you'd prefer activities. An indoor lounge/bar area if you'd prefer a more traditional approach. Live music was playing in the indoor area which added so much to the ambiance and overall upbeat vibes of the location. Parking is very challenging on the busy hours, but they offer free, hassle free valet, which was necessary since it's permit parking in the nearby surface streets (and apparently they're fairly aggressive w/ ticketing). Food selection is decent - we had snacks which were good, prices are OK. Drinks selection is good. Service is nice but can be challenging on the weekends when things get busy. We had to wait a while to get drinks at the bar and service at our tables, but not a big deal if you've been to a busy lounge before. Me and my two girlfriends ate here last night and had a wonderful experience. Our server Jordan was awesome. He was so cute, friendly, knowledgeable...we all just loved him. It's always fun at the yard! I've been a few times and to the Tempe location too! Met up with a group here and we did have to wait a while for a table, but there was a good amount of room at the bar. I got a skinny margarita and a mezcal daiquiri. For my meal my sister and I shared a vegan curry which was really good! My sister thought it was spicy but I didn't think it was too spicy. Had their fush and chips x4. Fish was good. Fries were heavily salted while coleslaw was heavy w vinegar in sauce. Could not eat the coleslaw. Burgers were tiny for $19 and they were stingy on the fries. Salads we ordered were tasty and plentiful. Beer was at least cold. Staff/waiter was very nice. I loved everything about this place. It is a restaurant, bar, and play area. This place is huge. There are about 5 ping pong tables and an entire yard for corn hole. We came for beers and ping pong, and had a great time. You can borrow balls and paddles from the host stand and the tables are regulation sized and first come first serve. We started with the "mystery" beer for $3, which is a can of beer in a paper bag, bartender's choice, which was very fun. They also have very good craft beers on tap and some specialty cocktails. I think the place is big so it's hard to manage and they don't have enough servers for the busy times. If you aren't at a table inside, is just recommend going to the bar. On my 2nd visit to the Yard, I lucked out and got a sunny corner table to myself to feast in the later afternoon. On this visit, I was in a very carnivorous mood; so I had their signature spicy korean skirt steak(Spicy korean skirt steak forbidden rice, zucchini, mushrooms, ginger chili sauce $28). I wanted it medium rare. It came out perfect. The meat was tender, very tasty in the rice, mushrooms, assorted veges. It was the best steak I've had in over a year! I'm still thinking about it. I really savored every delectable bite. The other standout was the Left hand brewing nitro milk stout from colorado $6 . It went great with the steak. My side of house made chips with onion dip was so big, I had to save most of it for later. Service by Chloey was amazing. I recommend ask for her, she knows her stuff and has a nice vibe. Started out rough and left pretty unsatisfied. Started out not great by having to fight to find parking because it stated valet parking. No indication that the valet was free but let's be honest valets are never free since of course I'm going to tip if I received a service. With how parking is in this area arrived already upset. With how busy the place is they need to have more servers. When we arrived it took 15 to 20 minutes for the server to even get to our table. Our server was polite but obviously drowned in work. Drinks and appetizers were the only highlight. I ordered the From Soho with love, Tijuana spa water, and the nachos. Nachos were pretty good and drinks we pretty well balanced. For dinner I ordered the Steak Frites, it took me 45 minutes to get my steak as they over cooked it the first time. The arugula salad was bland, no seasoning and maybe a couple drops of a vinaigrette. Fries were cooked well but absolutely no seasoning was added. Same with the steak after I got the steak the sear was done right and my steak was fairly evenly cooked but the truffle butter had no flavor, the steak itself was minimally seasoned or seasoned during/after it was cooked and steak needs to be seasoned beforehand. Since skirt steak doesn't have much fat content why not use a chimicurri or some type of sauce to give it an extra kick? I also ordered a fish and chips to go and got literally 2 medium sized pieces and a nugget of fish. Even the slaw they gave us filled maybe 1/2" at the bottom of the cup. Overall with how pricey this place is either the portions should be fair or the seasoning better be on point and I feel like I got neither. TLDR: Valet when it could easily be regular parking even if it is "free." Servers are drowning in work need more to keep service timing on point. Appetizers and drinks were good. For the price food portions were not great for to go orders, and all of the dinners I tasted were under seasoned. read more
