Great Pizza. Great wedges. Nice relaxing meal. Was a Tuesday lunch so wasn't busy and our first visit to the cafe and will ne back. Have been to the bistro and it's a great place to catch up with friends where it isn't to noisy especially if you have a booth.

We were brought one or two pizzas at a time, the kids were starving, then a plate of pasta that would have been a plate for one person, the food was pretty average, nothing to rave about. The time it took out, was way too long! We ended up there for two hours, just because there wasnt enough to eat, so we left and went to another restaurant to have a wonderful meal - all 10 of us!

We were served by a great waitress who was on top of things and new what she was talking about, although the other waitress who seated us seemed rather vague. The food was above the standard of other local pizzerias, yet I felt that they were a bit too heavy on the cheese. Everything was reasonably priced, and being right around the corner, it's convenience has meant that we have been able to walk over for desert on occasion or order a pizza and collect it without too much hassle. It's a joy having such an inviting, friendly restaurant so close to home. It is certainly not the best pizza you can get in Adelaide, but it has raised the bar on what the standard is around Magill, and it's convenience makes it special.

I guess the main thing I liked about it was the beer garden, and there were a few times when I would sit out the back with a couple of friends drinking a couple of beers. It does have some charm about it, and while in parts it does feel a little tacky, the pub itself isn't too bad. I guess it does have a lot to do with the memories that I have of the place.

The pub is quite old looking, on a corner, but it has been refurbished inside and out the back. The carpark is huge which is good. I do love a good salad bar and this one lives up to my expectations, also they have cheap snitty's Tuesday night's. Also, there is a senior's section on their website which states senior's get the royal treatment 7 days a week, which gives you an idea of the crowd. I stopped in here once, half drunk on the wa to town with some girls, and we stood out amongst the oldies tearing up the d-floor. The drinks aren't that cheap either, especially what we drink. I'm sure port and sherry were the specials for the night. But the beer garden is ok, simple, neat and new. They also hold trivia nights on Tuesdays and karaoke on Thursday and Friday for a laugh.

If you pick your nights here you can grab a great value for money meal. I've been on Tuesday and Wednesday nights where they have schnitzel specials on Tuesdays and steak specials the next night. They also offer you the choice of chips or mash potato with your meals, which seems to be a rarity. Then they have a selective salad bar to nibble at before or during your meal, which was amazing. There were such things as a vegetable bake, potato salad, rice salad, coleslaw, roasted vegetables. I'm sure they alternate the options for different nights. The meals were really good. For what you pay I feel it is decent. The serving sizes aren't huge, but along side the salad bar I still walked away feeling very satisfied. My steak was cooked to perfection. I order a rare and it was delicious. They also don't seem to take long at all to run your meals out. There were quite a few people in the cue to order when I did, yet still there wasn't much a wait for meals. I've actually asked them to hold off starting our meals as we wanted to enjoy some of the salad bar first before our meals. I absolutely wouldn't rule out coming back here on a regular basis, particularly with a friend for an easy catch up dinner on a weeknight perhaps. The ambience is very relaxed and not at all noisy, even when half the dining room is full, and everything is very easily accessible.

The first time I was there we ordered food and drinks at the service area and told them our table number. What they didn't say is that we had to collect our own drinks from the wine service area, so we're sitting at our table for some time without realising our drinks were sitting on the bar. They serve Bleasdale sparkling red by the glass so that's a winner itself. We sat in the alcove surrounded by windows which is a pretty spot, and away from the playground entrance. I'd imagine it would be very noisy when full but for a weekday lunch very pleasant.

The ceiling is ten billion meters high and it makes it impossible to bring any life to the place. I have been there when it is quite busy, but I've also been there when we've been the second two people there, and they still sat us on the table that the other couple were sitting on when they were ordering. Awkward. The upstairs function room is very popular for birthdays and engagements, with it's own bar and all the facilities needed for photos and speeches. They host poker tournaments and karaoke, but I haven't been to see this in action. The pokies bar is always the busiest and you will see people having a smoke outside of this room at all hours of the night. When I can't think of a pub to go to, I usually end up here, but I'm pretty much always disappointed.

But after a few minutes of good service and chilled out vibe I was able to relax. The place to be on The Parade is thanks to that A-Team the Trims family, who are also responsible for the equally buzzy Sparrow and The Manse. All the carry on and hoo haa about this place I reckon is well deserved, coming here is a unique experience and there's nowhere else around quite like it. You get a little drinks card to hang onto so you can order ten dollar glasses of wine and pricey food without having to actually think about how much you're paying. Last time I came here we had fries, which come out on a wooden block with an accompanying bowl of 'aerated ketchup,' which was absolutely delicious. They appear to be fans of aeration, there are also donuts with aerated chocolate sauce, and scallops with aerated almond cream. We all know how Adelaide folk like to get all worked up over new things, and I reckon this place is worth the hype.
