    Duck salad *****
    Ashleigh W.

I must say upfront that when I looked at the menu and realised this was a pizza joint, I was pretty shocked... The name, logo, decor, bar and general vibe just screams 'tapas and desserts'... Minus a star for confused branding... Other than that, being a Saturday night, the live music across the street was distracting to the vibe of lickerish - its interior lends itself to a softer style of music. Now to the food, I had the duck beast salad which is unusual for me as it had artichokes, cabbage, walnuts, watercress and orange so the combination was unusual but worked amazingly well. 5 star meal (note, I didn't order pizza!) my hubby ordered the burger and I quote ' it's massive'. He liked it though and decided to walk it off afterwards with a stroll along the beach. The fries had a funny flavour meaning they had shared the oil with something else like spring rolls (a pet peeve of mine)

The food & service was flawless, friendly & welcoming. My parents were visiting from NSW & we wanted somewhere with a good vibe & good food. We had a 3 course meal with a bottle wine, starter drinks & coffees. We shared an entree which was fish balls deep fried with corn sauce, so good! We ordered the 2 house special pizzas, one was BBQ chicken & the other was fig & prosciutto so good! We ordered a side of the most delicious mushrooms baked in garlic & butter! Reasonably priced & great food. Will go back again!

I must say, Lickerish may be known as a pizza restaurant, but that sells it so short. While pizza appears to be their speciality, don't just look over the smaller plates/sharing menu - there is fantastic stuff on there. A lot of the reviews mention the odd branding/appearance of Lickerish, and how its presentation comes across as a dessert and drinks venue rather than the savoury side. This is very true. It's also fairly easy to miss if you're wandering down Semaphore Road. Lickerish is upstairs above...I think it was a newsagent, and the entrance is via a winding set of stairs beginning in the Foodland car park. Once up the stairs, there are two different seating options: balcony or indoors. I strongly recommend the balcony in summer, but wear sunscreen. I got burnt, and it was only 28 degrees! Decor includes small plants on each of the outdoor tables, large blackboard inside displaying specials and fairy lights. I think some more could be done visually to reflect the nature of the food and what Lickerish is about, but the balcony was packed when we were there, so clearly they're doing a lot of the right things! We came here last Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and we were totally famished. We ordered 5 of the small sharing plates between the two of us, and it was the perfect amount. We chose the tempura zucchini flowers stuffed with chevre, sake and citrus cured salmon, pork belly with an Asian herb salad, creamy crab on toast and broccolini with anchovy mayonnaise. Now, some of those sound a little odd, granted. Honestly, I was a bit apprehensive about a couple of them. I mean, crab on toast? Anchovy mayonnaise? What had we ordered?! Much to our delight (and admittedly, surprise - we've eaten at some pretty average seaside venues), everything tasted absolutely fantastic! The tempura zucchini flowers were crisp, and the batter was thin (unlike so many 'tempuras'), crunchy and free of excess oil and the chevre inside was creamy and delicious. The salmon was fresh, light and zingy. The sake was well-balanced against the citrus, and did not have an overpowering alcohol flavour at all. The pork belly was crunchy and the salad was well-balanced and the dressing wasn't excessive. The anchovy mayo I was a little worried about got scoffed with broccolini, and the crab on toast tasted fresh and rich, and the radish accompaniment took the edge off the intensity. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm really looking forward to returning and bringing more people here. Fantastic place to eat good food and just watch the world go by.

Pumpkin and basil arancini and the pear and rocket salad.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening and it was a fantastic dining experience. Our waiter was very well spoken and we were looked after extremely well. The physical menu consisted of a whole entire page of entrees and subsequent one of pizza, but the special were recited to us by the waiter. From memory there were about 5-6 options for specials and they all sounded delicious. Plenty for vegetarians to choose from and vegans are also catered to. For our entree we decided on the pumpkin and basil arancini and a pear and rocket salad. Both were divine! Highly recommend the arancini balls. They come with a decent amount of aioli and have oozing cheese inside. For mains, my partner and I both had pizzas. They were absolutely delicious and fresh out of the oven. My partner tried the Mambo No 5 and I had a margherita. Would recommend both. If you're not keen to eat a lot, maybe order one to share as they're well sized. We will definitely be returning and can't wait to go back already. The view is great, the food is great and the service is great! Cute place if you want to go out for a date also. The only thing I will say is if you have problems walking up stairs then this restaurant may not be the best choice as you have to climb a stairway to get up there.

They also serve tapas food. They also serve tapas food. We had the pan fried gnocchi with artichokes, and the buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes. Mmm! The prices are pretty reasonable as well. The cocktails are $17 - $20. The tapas is under $15. We also had a lovely conversation with the owner evi about the design of the place. I'd love to come back again on my way home from workies :) Nothing much more I can add to what Karen F had commented, both Adam & Evi are great hosts. Very attentive and explained both the cocktails and food very well and enticed us into trying them. Enjoyable evening.

I have only been here for a wine and cocktail so far but this place really adds to the quirky little shops, bakeries and cafes that are popping up on KWR! Fast and friendly service, combined with some unique concoctions and names of cocktails means you will spend most of your time there deciding which cocktail you'll get when you next return. The Elephant Espress is on my list to try next time. If you are like my other half though and think cocktail is for cordial drinkers then never fear - the wine and beer list is for quoffers and swirlers alike. These guys take their booze seriously and I am definitely signing up for one of their monthly "tasting flight masterclasses" in the future.

An ever changing and simple wine list of SA wines by the glass and bottle as well as a few ciders and beers to boot complement the gourmet tapas style menu on offer. I love sharing food and so this place suited me perfectly however my partner was hoping we would go out for the "main meal" after dining here! Every dish was incredibly well flavoured and spiced as well as being rich enough to be filling. It wasn't the healthiest meal but every we tried couldn't be faulted. From the thai chicken balls with a caramelly soy sauce to waygu meat balls, fennel and orange soaked olives (my fav) and the fried haloumi it all worked well with each other and what we were drinking. This venue is also deceivingly larger than you would expect as you walk up to the counter (in a room behind the front bar and dining area) and can explore a larger carpeted dining and entertaining area as well as seating out the side of the house. It has been furnished very classically with old wooden chairs and tables but given a modern twist with the quirky addition of wine glass chandeliers and a mirrored room indoors. So if you're looking for a pre-dinner or late evening snack over some unusual local wine and tasty tapas, this place is worth bookmarking.

Last night we got an off the cuff invite for drinks at 16:30 and to hear a band The Prospectors. Arriving late (that's our style) we missed the first set so sat out the back with a glass of bubbly and had a chat. There are a variety of rooms from the main with couches, large and small tables and bar stools, to small quiet intimate side rooms that can be used for groups. The wine is varied, many by the glass at fair prices and the staff are well versed in wine so are able to find something you'll like. The food is so very tasty. Mustard cheese bread, arancini balls, crushed potatoes and a three cheese plate. Ordered just at the end of the bands second set we were up on the dance floor. Tradition states with The Prospectors, that one of their last songs of an evening is 'dancing on the streets' in which you go and do just what the song says. A final note on the first Wednesday of the month they do a wine food pairing night with a local wine producer. It is a very popular event often being booked out weeks if not months in advance (we booked the last seat for the December event, 2 months in the future from time of posting) So expect an update in a few months.

Bacchus is one of the better locations because of their good wine menu and well made cocktail and drinks list. They would get 5 stars in my books for location and the fact you can drink on the foreshore alone. Unfortunately though they have an incredibly ordinary food and tapas menu and no matter how many times I give that place a try I am always disappointed by their unoriginal, over fried, pre-packaged food. It's weird, because their menu and photos of food from Facebook always look so enticing, so maybe I'm just ordering wrong? Because you can say "well the menu recommends we share..." Giallo Wine Bar has recently been taken over by new management, who also owns Greenway Gallery next door. The setting is intimate and small and the outdoor area would be beautiful in summer. I'm not so sure about the random art pieces in glass cabinets around the restaurant but never mind you'll be too distracted by the menu. Whenever I dine out I try to pack in as many experiences as possible to my meal. As a result I will normally order 3 glasses of different wines rather than a bottle to share. Again, this place is a perfect setting! Go in, say what you feel like and the waiter will bring you something new and different to try. They have an amazingly diverse wine list that doesn't just stock from SA - that excites me. Their share plates are not big, but the richness and intensity of flavours mean that 3 or 4 plates + a salad for 2 is plenty. My favourite dishes were the scallops with a white bean puree and crisp pancetta or their Gawler River quail with caramalised pear and sherry vinegar. The blend of ingredients meant there were many oo's and ah's had with each bite. Service was wonderful and very efficient and there was never a moment our wine glasses or water was empty. Don't be on a budget when going here and please don't complain that the meals are too small. Sharing is caring people and stop being a greedy guts!
