Just what the area needed, Hula Hoop now provides in a cute little wine bar (seats about 25 inside on bar stools) with solid wine list and tasty snacks/dinner.
Outside are another 6 or so tables of 4 with a temporary gazebo over the top, and heaters and rugs to keep you warm. Looking east over a small park, this will be a winner in the warmer months.
The food menu was designed by Andre of Masterchefiness, and although I've only had a sample of the tasting plate, the menu includes larger dinner options such as a robust ragu. It's all fresh and seasonal and I'm looking forward to dinner soon.
The staff are friendly and convivial and more than happy to oblige with requests. The inside tables (3) can be booked, but staff are happy for you to use until reservation time. If you want to kick on & there's a few of you it would be best to book.
Inside fills fast and it's noisy, so if you want a more intimate chat get there early (5pm Wed-Fri & 2pm Sunday) or sit outside, but otherwise enjoy the excitement shared by locals of a venue that fills a missing gap for the locals. read more
