A must visit. They have transformed this hotel. Plenty of different seating areas but you still need a reservation. We loved being able to order and pay from your phone. The food was absolutely amazing. You can't go wrong.

Ribs... Ribs ribs... Ribs ribs ribs…read more.. Ok. Now I've got that out of my system... The Stanley Bridge hotel is a picturesque classic Adelaide Hills pub with the best pork ribs you may have ever eaten. Named after the local barfly pooch - Benny the Jack Russell; "Benny's Ribs" as they are called come in meaty quantities of 6, 9 or 12 and are wonderfully grilled with a splashing of hoy sin sauce. You can have the ribs alone if you're on the Atkin's diet or endulge as I do and get the interestingly delectable coleslaw with chunks of apple and big sultanas, and don't forget the potato wedges to soak up the extra hoy sin sauce. Nom nom nom. Look, there are other items on the menu, some of which are great and some which don't hit the spot for me; avoid the pie and chili con carne unless you're a gambler as they can both be hit and miss. My stoic recommendation though, is that if you're a meat eater, try the damn ribs on your first visit. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I have done 9 on one visit, but had to be removed with a crane. I now stick with the 6 rib serve (I'm trying to watch my weight) and go half coke, half diet coke (for my figure). The beers on tap include a few locals. Last time we were there, bierhaus and vale ale were sitting next to puke inducing west end draught and something else that shouldn't be consumed unless you're down to your last $5. Wine list is great, as is the serenity. They've got buckets of it. To top it off, there's Benny. What a champ. Read Anita D's review to get the whole story.

Both keep the key…read morepoints you mentioned. *Version 1 - Google/TripAdvisor style* *Balhannah Hotel - 0 stars* Worst dining experience I've ever had. The food is consistently undercooked. We ordered steak _well done, no blood_ and had to send it back 3 times. Each time it came out raw with blood running across the plate. Staff shrugged and said "steak is cooked with blood coming out, it's natural". Hygiene is non-existent - 0/10. The waitress had her fingers all over the food when she brought the plate out. After all the back-and-forth to the kitchen, we both got sick. It genuinely felt like something was done to the food. The staff stand around gossiping about customers loud enough for everyone to hear. When we raised the issues politely, we were treated like rubbish. To top it off, I received an aggressive, insulting email from the manager/owner saying we are no longer welcome, just for complaining about raw food and poor hygiene. *Food*: Undercooked, unsafe *Service*: Rude, unprofessional, gossipy *Hygiene*: Disgusting - staff touching food *Management*: Hostile and unaccountable Avoid at all costs. Made us sick and then banned us for speaking up.

Anyway, they had a nice beer on tap, which I certainly did appreciate, and the service wasn't too bad either. They also have quite a decent sized beer garden, but we ended up spending most of our time in the front bar, which was quiet, and really nice as well.

The best football club. I have a bit of a not very important, albeit obvious bias…read more I had been to the Football club occasionally, but this year was my first as a player and member. Although my talent is questionable (the question being if I have any) I quickly felt welcome at the club. I hadn't played any organised sport since Primary School, so really I was happy to not die after my first training. While some of the buildings seem a little old, the interior has recently been renovated and expanded. The facilities are more than adequate, and there are always plans floating around for future improvements which really adds to the positive attitude at the club. The newest improvement has been the expansion of the dining area and kitchen, which can be hired by the public. Another great asset to the club is the grandstand, the biggest elevated undercover seating area in the entire Hills league. Being in the hills in winter, any undercover seating is great. There is also an outdoor bar under the stand alongside a bbq so there's no good reason to stray too far from the grandstand. On Saturday nights throughout the season the club is open for dinner, all are welcome not just players and members. The menu has a fair variety, mostly pub food based. Schnitzels with various toppings being the most popular (being at least as good as a pub schnitzel at half the price, it's not hard to see why). Separate from meals, the bar is also open Saturday nights. Whilst the range may be minimal, they never run out of what they do stock. The cocktail menu is the most popular with the younger crowd. There are many other postives about the club and facilities, the most notable being the recent string of success at the club. Premierships don't necessarily make a great club, but a great club always has the potential to win premierships. Next winter I look forward to "heading down the club".

I got back in the car and went for a little drive down the road. Before I knew it, this pub loomed out of the greenery of the hills, and I suspected that I had found what I was looking for. Upon entering, I discovered that I had attended on Schnitzel Night. There were three choices on the specials menu television. None of them particularly met my desire, although I did want a schnitzel. I suppose I could have ordered any one of them, and requested all the topping to be removed and substituted for a mushroom sauce, but no, it didn't occur to me, so I just ordered the standard schnitzel off the normal menu. And it was absolutely delicious. The crumb was excellent, the quality of the chicken was probably one of the best I've seen in a pub in South Australia, and the mushroom sauce was beautiful. The staff were friendly, and the meals came out very quickly. I think I'll go back very soon.
