The "small" cheese board
Raegen S.

I am not sure the best way to review this since they have a tasting room and wine store, both of which I AM IN LOVE WITH!!!! we ordered a few glasses of wine to taste and share and ordered the "small" cheese board. since we had a gluten hater with us they cut some fresh apples in addition to the wonderful bread. the prosciutto was perfect and complimented the soft cheese and jam they provided. the bar tender was very nice and knowledgable. the wine store is freaking AMAZING! the guys were knowledgable about almost every wine in the place. the best part was that they went the extra mile to find wine packing boxes and explain the tourist refund scheme in Australia. basically spend $300 AUD on wine and when you get to the airport they give you 25% back! they also said they ship to singapore. did i mention that they were super knowledgable about the wine and very nice. i will go back anytime I am in Adelaide and plan to try the shipping to Singapore.

I love going here for a bottle of wine and late night food. I always choose a bottle from the wine shop within and pay the $15 corkage. We had a antipasto platter and it was so fresh, and the quantity was much more then expected. Great spot for anytime of the day.

Inside wine store end. Buy a bottle and pay corkage and enjoy on premise

Wine porn just about describes this. We are new to town and I feel that this is going to become a regular. Drop in at the Est pizzeria around the corner to book a table, then boogie on down here to while the time away savouring a glass (or two) before they call you to tell your table is ready. You will be sorry to leave!

Boasting a magnificent collection of local and specialist wines, most by the glass. These guy are devotees ask for anything, they will find cheese or snacks to match. In any other town this place would be packed with banker-wankers and sundry other social parasites driving the price up. Here, you lucky people, you get to appreciate wine amongst others doing the same thing. Don't make it popular, I'll be very annoyed.

But after a few minutes of good service and chilled out vibe I was able to relax. The place to be on The Parade is thanks to that A-Team the Trims family, who are also responsible for the equally buzzy Sparrow and The Manse. All the carry on and hoo haa about this place I reckon is well deserved, coming here is a unique experience and there's nowhere else around quite like it. You get a little drinks card to hang onto so you can order ten dollar glasses of wine and pricey food without having to actually think about how much you're paying. Last time I came here we had fries, which come out on a wooden block with an accompanying bowl of 'aerated ketchup,' which was absolutely delicious. They appear to be fans of aeration, there are also donuts with aerated chocolate sauce, and scallops with aerated almond cream. We all know how Adelaide folk like to get all worked up over new things, and I reckon this place is worth the hype.

Giallo Wine Bar - Nice outdoor area

Giallo, you had me at writing "please consider sharing all dishes from entree to main," on your…read moremenu. For someone like me who gets serious food envy, this place is the place to take any friend, lover or family member who selfishly only ever wants to keep their dish to themselves. Why? Because you can say "well the menu recommends we share..." Giallo Wine Bar has recently been taken over by new management, who also owns Greenway Gallery next door. The setting is intimate and small and the outdoor area would be beautiful in summer. I'm not so sure about the random art pieces in glass cabinets around the restaurant but never mind you'll be too distracted by the menu. Whenever I dine out I try to pack in as many experiences as possible to my meal. As a result I will normally order 3 glasses of different wines rather than a bottle to share. Again, this place is a perfect setting! Go in, say what you feel like and the waiter will bring you something new and different to try. They have an amazingly diverse wine list that doesn't just stock from SA - that excites me. Their share plates are not big, but the richness and intensity of flavours mean that 3 or 4 plates + a salad for 2 is plenty. My favourite dishes were the scallops with a white bean puree and crisp pancetta or their Gawler River quail with caramalised pear and sherry vinegar. The blend of ingredients meant there were many oo's and ah's had with each bite. Service was wonderful and very efficient and there was never a moment our wine glasses or water was empty. Don't be on a budget when going here and please don't complain that the meals are too small. Sharing is caring people and stop being a greedy guts!

A medium sized function centre located above a restaurant in Norwood, They are actually a wine that…read moreserves tapas and other food as well. I had no idea as it is only stairs downstairs and it's not a raging nightlife area, particularly for younger people. The Norwood scene is a little more casual, up market and quieter. I usually only go there for tea and the movies, not to stay around on weekend nights and party. But a wine bar is a cool idea, especially on a great corner in the middle of The Parade. I have been to Maxims for a party function or two, and they were pretty good. It's quite cosy so feels full and you don't have to move around too much. The bar is big enough, with ample staff to keep up with the demand. Maxims has a small outdoor balcony area (very small), and it can be closed off so almost be indoors. But only 4 or 5 people will really fit out there. There are toilets, lounges, TVs and lights to make it perfect for a function. The one thing I find funny about Maxims -there is an obvious stripper pole smack bang in the middle of the dance floor area, which is always the centre of attention and the feature of many photos.

Maxim's is a comfortably small (-ish?!) wine bar, which sits above a restaurant in Norwood…read more My housemate and I were on the internet looking at places to have her 21st and stumbled across this one. The manager was really helpful and she settled for a Friday night as it was less expensive (still pretty pricey to hire though!). There's a $30 cake fee if intend to bring your own and they do provide finger food which will be brought around by one of the employees throughout the night. You can play your own music and slideshows too. I didn't talk to the manager personally, I just remember seeing him talk a bit rudely to the bartenders and it seemed a bit unprofessional. The woman behind the bar was lovely and joked around with us. It was a young girl's first shift and she was really lovely too. The only things that were a little off putting were: a) The very obvious stripper pole which is placed in the middle of the room. This wasn't mentioned anywhere. My housemate wanted 'classy' and with the fluro pink lights which outline the ceiling on half of the room, it brings the class-o-meter down a little! and, b) Because I'm vegan, my housemate asked them to make something vegan for me and they agreed. When I asked on the night, they said no one had told them! My housemate definitely did, so we were a bit annoyed about that. Luckily the spring rolls turned out to be "accidentally" vegan, so I didn't go home too hungry! My experience wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. With what my housemate's parents paid to hire the place, I just expected it to be in my top 5 at least.

I love the old-school 50s décor, extensive cocktail menu, and the furniture (lots of tables!). Every time I go there I remember being 19 and ordering a Toblerone. Although this place is somewhat past its prime, I still think it's great! Additionally, since it's downstairs from Scoozi, why not grab a pizza before heading down for delicious cocktails.

I absolutely LOVE the delicious array of cocktails here however I can't stand the amount of time that you have to spend waiting for them (hence the deduction of two stars) - it really does just get excessive sometimes, however polish off a drink or two and you won't even notice the waiting time! A great place to drink and not be disrupted by too much noise or, if you please you still can dance the night away - because you definitely will want to after downing a couple drinks! The main issue here: I can't remember which drinks to recommend as I always get a little tipsy...although I do recall the Long Island Iced Tea was decent - they also do funky Rainbow Shots which are fun for birthdays and the like!
