Better pay cash because if your purchase is less than $5 and you try to use your card, you're outta luck.

I'm sure they have very good sandwiches since there were two women in line behind me that waxed poetically about them, however... I just wanted to buy some iced tea but I had no cash, so I tried to use my debit card but the owner said that they didn't accept card purchases under $5. I didn't want anything else, so I left the iced tea there. What a bummer.

This is the best tahini ever & they had it!

We rode our bikes from about 8 miles away at the B&B we were staying at. This is a lovely small town. Very bike friendly by-the-way. We're vegan and were happy to see 3 items on the menu and we had the humus sandwich and it was really good. The girls that were working there that day were super sweet. They even had homemade dog biscuits and we got some for our pups back in Alaska. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Bike stand, gas, deli, coffee stand, fresh fruit and an old time old fashion feel to it. If we're ever in the area again I'll stop in.

Stopped in on a rainy Friday for an early lunch. I chose the ALT, Avacados, Lettuce, Tomatoes, OMG it's delicious . I have to say my server looked delicious also. They also have several beers on tap

Relax - this is a small place with a small staff and even smaller kitchen: If you're in a rush, or the impatient type, this ain't it. But if you like to sit a spell and chat with your people as you enjoy friendly, knowledgeable staff (you're likely to be served by the owners themselves), a craft cocktail, relish a lovely meal, then polish it off with one of Jane's amazing desserts (salted caramel brownie à la mode, anyone?), then we'll see you at The Rex, because we will definitely be back! We were a large group (10) on a busy night and Jane and crew handled us beautifully. Our table enjoyed steak salads, the pork tenderloin, the chicken linguine, cod risotto, clam chowder, a Reuben (huge!), and flank steak. Dessert was outstanding - choose from Lopez Island Creamery ice cream (huge scoops), or one of Jane's scratch-baked treats (pies, key lime bars, brownies, cookies, more). The salted caramel brownie à la mode melted in my mouth. It was excellent, you could taste each component - the fudgy brownie, the creamy caramel, the occasional crunch of salt = 10/10, no notes, don't miss it. Great vibe, loved seeing so many familiar faces coming and going, so happy to have The Rex Bistro in the valley.

Our server was Rainey, she was awesome, very attentive, and came to our table right away to take our order. The atmosphere at Temperate Habits is very nice, there is outside seating but we sat inside due to the bright evening sun. Our meals took quite a while to arrive, I think we were at the tail end of the dinner rush and my guess is they have a small kitchen. My classic cheeseburger was about the most generic, predictable, and utterly boring burger I could imagine, and for $17 I would certainly not return for that or the mundane shoestring fries. The burger patty, bun, and fries were all non creative and the there was nothing even the slightest bit unique about my burger, in fact I swear it is the exact same burger that the Skagit River Brewery serves just around the corner. The surprise entree was the Crab and Lobster Tots, now whoever thought that would be good? The plate looked very strange to say the least but I have to say.... this dish was really good! So you'd think if they could create that total mayhem of a dish that they could get far more creative with the burgers and least have a house burger sauce or a higher quality bun for $17, something? I might return to Temperate Habits to have a drink with friends and share some tots, because they give you a large enough portion for four people, but I would certainly look elsewhere for a good burger. 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 1 star for the burger, 4 stars for the tots.

The patio faces one of the main streets so there was lots of good people watching. I ordered a beer flight and was very satisfied with all four of my selections: Prickly Pear Kolsch - it was creamy and easy to drink, bursting with prickly pear flavor; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!
