I've been shopping at various Grocery Outlet locations off and on for many years. Some locations are definitely better than others, IMHO. This location recently moved to its new location and, while it took a minute for me to re-learn where all the things are, I'm now comfortable with the shelves. This location offers some organics, vegetarian, vegan, and Hispanic foods that I can't find at larger chain grocery stores along with a number of speciality items that I've tried and become a fan of. It's a great place to experiment with wines -- and some good wines -- at a fraction of retail but you have to do some sleuthing to know if you're getting a deal or not. You never know what non-food items will be in the store as well, some quality stuff some meh stuff. Shopping here can be a fun way to try new things AND a way to save some dollars. read more

DAMP, DUSTY, AND DIRTY!! It looks way better on the outside than in. I've never been in here, always shop at Safeway ot Haggens, which I will continue to do. The prices are not that much of a difference, and they don't look as fresh as the other grocery stores. The employees have disrespectful attitudes. The one girl who attempted to bag my groceries (all wrong, btw) almost got slapped with her nasty, unnecessary comments. When we got to the register, I offered to bag my own groceries because I know I'm particular, like have cold items put in cold bags..it's not that complicated. The girl started just throwing things in the bag, and I told her to then please put the cold in the cold bags... what does she do? Put my frozen pizzas in a regular bag. I go to try and correct her, she's like, they won't fit, and then says to her coworker,"I know what I'm doing, I've been doing this for years" that's when I got pissed and moved her ass out the way! The first thing I did? Put my frozen pizzas in the cold bag. Like I said, and I knew that they would fit! First and last!!!! read more

High prices and food that will go bad in one day, The employees seem to be nice , The store is dusty and dirty, and feels like you're in a concentration camp , The parking lot is congested , You're better off going to a normal grocery store. I love this store! This is a great place to go first before any supermarket. They always have great deals on cold medicine, vitamins, shampoo, some produce, paper products, and frozen food. They have an ever changing wine department with amazing deals along with beer too. If you aren't set in stone on a brand and know you need to pick up an item stop here first to see if they have it. The stock rotates with different brands but it is well worth it. Oh yeah and if you love cheese come here for sure! Lots of different kinds of cheese, fancy kinds too for CHEAP! I have been shopping at this Grocery Outlet for over 20 years, and some of the checkers have worked there for just as long. I always go to the Grocery Outlet first for my cat food, sometimes they have really good deals on quality cat food and I can save nearly 50% on the cost. Also, I never quite know what other good deals they are going to have so I always do a quick run through the store. One of the newer checkers named Nathan is always so friendly, and he remembered my face, and what I come in for after only dealing with me one time, that is very impressive. They don't take manufacturers coupons and you can't assume they will have anything other than milk and eggs - everything else is only there if they were able to get it for a steal of a price. Stuff sold here is cheaper because it is excess from different stores, the manufacturer's shipping problems or near expiration date (which you may want to check carefully on refrigerated items). They sell all kinds of non food as well shampoo, beer, frozen goods... all for low prices that usually beat other grocery stores. One of the better "Canned Food Grocery Outlet" stores, it has more selection than many other small town locations. Better than Chehalis, WA, Scappoose OR, Bellingham, WA. Tacoma (Mchord AFB) is the mother-load, but for the smaller stores this is one of the best. The entrance to the parking lot is tricky, watch out for pedestrians. . read more

This is a great store to check out before going to a bigger grocery store. You can really never be certain about what they'll have in stock, but I find I can certainly get some items from my list and save some money. Plus, I nearly always find other things besides grocery items that I need. I definitely like the scale of the store - it's easy to pop in for a couple of things without feeling like you need to put on walking shoes! I have been shopping here with my family since I was a baby. 25 years later it still stands strong as a piece of Mount Vernon history! This is the first place I come for my groceries because not only is it inexpensive, but there is a vast variety of stuff. Their wine selection is off the charts for such a small (ish) store. And recently they have added a healthier section where you can find gluten free items like cereal and crackers. The service is always great. The location is great. I love this store. A 5 star review for a grocery store. You're darn tootin!! This place is great!! Clean and all around fun place to shop, and the wine? OMG, a huge selection that you've got to try. Now if you're one of these pinky lifting wine sipping and spit connoisseur then this is not your wine spot. But if you'd rather pay from $2.99 a bottle and up to take a great big swaller of variety taste this is the place to go. Heck I buy the stuff by the case and love it. But that's not all, the food choice they have is HUGE, I'm like a kid in a candy store. My wife has to rein me in from wandering around in awe of all the tasty goodness. Lots of other as seen on TV and gadgets at low prices as well. Worth a stop in, we go all the the time. Watch for expiration dates on your choice of frozen goodness. I was hesitant to go to Grocery Outlet because I admit I am a bit of a grocery store snob. I like shopping at the frilly ones. However, we have hit a tough spot financially and I decided it was worth a shot. I was looking for the most bang for my buck. We definitely were surprised, they had a lot of name brands. In fact most of the items were top brands. The prices were fantastic and the store was clean, stocked and pretty organized given the small size of it. I've shopped here since i was a little kid, history shared by my girlfriend. Ever make an awkward mistake? Of course not, we, are not quite as infalible. Her sons stroller has a collapsable visor that is broken and cascades back on its own gradually. She set an item there and it folded while she wasnt really paying attention. She went through the line and paid for everything and was stopped. They are pressing charges for shoplifting! Were going through a rebuilding period at the moment. We dont have the time to waste on this especially if they determine that regardless of situation a law had been broken, community service is something that will hurt us and we wouldnt risk it doing something so petty. Plus we go (well, "went," as it would be now) there too often to steal without being noticed anyways. Its a cheap trick for the store to look better in the fiscal quarter by using their own cuztomers as scapegoats to take the blame for bad money management or handling. We have been more than cooperstive and have both offere and requested that we figure this out withou t the court system. So what if their prices are low? If their ethical standards are reflected in the pricing margine then Ill shop somewhere else. read more
