The food is phenomenal! This place is definitely a hole in the wall! The service is great. The staff is very energetic and friendly. If you are in San Pedro this place is a must try. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. 10/10 will come back again

Amazing place for breakfast! Recommended from the hotel front desk at doubletree it was a short walk to Rex's cafe. The staff was amazing - super accommodating with our baby - friendly and fast service. The food was really good. I highly recommend getting the breakfast burrito!

One of my favorite breakfast spots. I love the team here especially Lupe she is so nice! I always try to arrive early when no one is around yet and enjoy a coffee/latte. So quiet and peaceful, My favorite coffee in all of San Pedro. Occasionally i come here with bae, and enjoy breakfast. Service is fast and friendly and the shop is set up so cute and cozy. It is a tiny place and can be packed during the weekend or as it becomes later in the morning. Definitely a place worth visiting in this town.

Found this little joint on yelp while looking for coffee. Saw some food pics and decided to check it out. I had the green chilaquiles with a side of bacon. Mound of fried chip with eggs, smothered with green tomatillo sauce. Came with sides of beans and potatoes. Delicious and good size portion. Highly recommend. Service was great? The ambiance was cool and soothing. Decoration is southwestish vibe.

(3.5/5) TL;DR: Cute house-turn-cafe serving decent, classic American and Mexican homecooked meals Came on a Saturday morning and, to our surprise, were seated immediately Our coffee orders came quick - definitely try the Mexican coffee! The server took our orders (4-top): - Breakfast burrito (4/5): Solid burrito; side of beans and cheese were tasty too - Breakfast special - Strawberry french toast (5/5): definitely the best plate of the table - 2 eggs and single strawberry pancake (2/5): the two eggs were decent but the strawberries were the highlight of the plate - the pancake itself was thick, heavy, gummy, and just not good. I think we took a collective 2 bites and gave up ... not to mention, the pancake came out about 15 minutes after the rest of the food - Chilaquiles w green sauce (3/5): the green sauce was good but wish we knew that the eggs were scrambled and not sunny/over easy so we could've either asked different eggs or swerved altogether While the overall meal was good, there were some issues with service, specifically some missed sides, late pancake, and delivering wrong orders. In the end, it was all sorted out so no harm no foul - just a little rough around the edges Cheers, Rex's!

An excellent neighborhood coffee spot!…read more The Masala Chai Tea is a nice upgrade from the usual Starbucks stuff that you can find on any street in America; it's sweet (but not too sweet!), creamy, and definitely flavorful. If I had to nitpick - I'd note that the cups here are a tad undersized - so the large tea bags take up a substantial portion of the cup (which in turn, throws off the balance/composition of the tea, etc.). If you call to place an order after 8 PM (which I do from time to time), they'll very rarely answer the phone. This, of course, gets in the way of being able to pop in and out for a quick pre-ordered drink. The folks at Hojas should do a better job of staying on top of phone calls - that's Customer Service 101! A little fine-tuning would go a long way here - fixing the cup size issue + upping the consistency with phones would be a big plus. :) PRO TIP: Parking on 6th Street can be a little unforgiving - so try to be courteous with not hogging the spaces in front for too long (there aren't many!)

I consider myself a bit of a "Sourdough Snob" and I had heard about Colossus a while back but didn't know that there was one (or are there 2?) in San Pedro. I went on a sourdough quest in San Francisco a few months back and I think I found the absolute best sourdough in that city. And Colossus's version, the Country Levain, is right up there! Okay this might be one of my top coffee spots in the South Bay…read more Parking is a little tricky since it's in a busy plaza, but honestly worth the short walk, it feels like a little corner oasis once you get there. Let's start with the coffee I kept it basic and "healthy" with a sugar-free vanilla latte with oat milk, and WOW... you can truly taste the quality. So smooth, so good. Now the vibe, this place is everything. From the moment you walk up and see the big coffee sign, you already know it's going to be cute. The garden/nature aesthetic is such a moment, and inside it's artsy, calm, and super inviting. They also carry merch from a local artist and I ended up getting the cutest beaded bracelet keychain (couldn't resist). Service was amazing, such a sweet girl took my order, and the guy working was super friendly, chatty, and gave great info about the coffee (and yes, I was influenced to follow them on IG). Definitely recommend, will 100% be back.
