Revolver Pizza
Mike H.

Every so often, there's a spot worth the hype! Revolver Pizza is known for one of the best pizzas in the GTA so I had to learn why. They serve pizzas hot from the Italian wood-fired oven in a Neapolitan and New York blend. The thin crust has a pleasant chew texture. We ordered ahead and came for easy pickup 15 minutes later. Salumi pizza came highly recommended with authentic salami and pancetta cutting through the melted mozzarella along with mushrooms. Their 18" pizza is 8 slices ($31) serving 3-4 and reasonably priced compared to other popular local joints. You can really taste the freshness of ingredients atop the crisp thin pizza crust. What's more, the shop also carries assorted apps (arancini / risotto balls), salad and dessert plus a shelf of imported Italian goods. The Rolo-topped tiramisu was pleasant way to end the hearty pizza meal with plenty of creamy mascarpone over the drenched ladyfingers. Their interior is catered to takeout but there is a window bench with condiments (chilli flakes) where you can have a bite while pizza is hot. The young team here was pleasant and quick dealing with the constant influx of guests. Skip it or hit it? I'm sure we'll be craving another Revolver pizza and will hit it up again in the future.

Taste of Naples Pizzeria - Taste of Naples Pizzeria - 16" round pizza with pepperoni & mushroom

Mama Mia! Is this the best pizza in town?…read more I finally came to check out the top reviewed pizza shop in Vaughan. Taste of Naples Pizzeria is hugely popular for locals here with many Italians in the area. The 16" pizza yielded 8 large tasty slices with a soft light pizza crust, fresh tomato sauce & good topping ingredients. Crisp thin crust bottom gave a nice finish. This is a real Neopolitan pizza that's a touch better than I've had elsewhere. You do pay a bit more for the quality compared to another local fav next door. Be sure to order takeout early as we encountered a queue but our pizza was ready in a timely manner. Just wait for your number to be displayed outside before heading in to pickup. As they say on the restaurant wall, you owe it to yourself to try. Let me know what you think!

It wasn't mentioned at the time of purchase, and I didn't realize it until I got home. We are the pizza about 30 minutes after pickup, and found the crust to be hard and chewy. For the reasons of the pizza being burnt, the surcharge, the tough crust, and that there are many pizzarias to consider in Toronto instead, so I will not be returning.

It's a brilliant concept for anyone looking to sample a variety of flavours without feeling too stuffed. Among their offerings, the mushroom pizza stood out as a clear winner for me -- highly recommend giving it a try! Overall, the dough is light and sauce and toppings are flavourful. The shop is pleasantly spacious, offering a few tables for those who prefer to dine in, although it seems the majority opt for takeout. Service is quick, attentive, and cheerful. They also carry a variety of Brio flavours, for those looking to wash down their slices with something equally delightful.

They had a number of pizzas to choose from, but I went with one that had some kind of meat and hot banana peppers on top. (There are no signs or labels telling you what you're getting, which seems like a weird choice.) After a few minutes in the oven, my pizza was ready to eat. I didn't realize until it was right in front of me that it didn't have any cheese, which meant that it was a seriously dry slice of 'za. Some dipping sauce or hot oil might've helped but nothing of the sort was available. Despite these issues, I basically enjoyed this concoction. The bready crust is pretty tasty and the hot sliced meat on top was delicious. Would I ever want to eat this again? Probably not, but I wasn't upset that I ordered it. In the future, I think I'll just stick with regular, conventional pizza. But in fairness, my dining companion was over the moon eating this stuff, so your mileage may vary.

They do tout themselves on their wood oven pizza, so naturally we got a magherita pizza. The portion was quite decent and the pizza was passable if not just average. I really liked the cheese they used. It was a bit savoury and had a rich dairy taste. I really wish their tomato sauce had more acidity and was less salty so that it can balance out the cheese. The dough however was slightly too chewy for my liking and the centre is a bit undercooked. When you try to pick up the slice, gravity starts to do its work and half the slice sags and the cheese topping goes down with it. I was not a fan of the tagliatelle con ragu. I thought I had ordered a pasta with veal in it, but it came across as a vegetarian pasta. I actually tasted a tiny bit of meat in my second last bite. If you are charging $26 for a pasta, please don't be a scrooge with the ingredients. But, what's not acceptable was the fact that the tagliatelle was overcooked while there were a few strands that were undercooked. We did dine in at an odd hour at 4:00pm, but service was definitely a bit slow. It really took the server awhile to acknowledge us and it was only then that she tapped us up with water. Perhaps, this is a bad location? Or we went at a bad time on a bad day? Nonetheless, it was not satisfactory experience.

He's in his twilight years of working so these days he mostly spends his time making his own red wine from scratch, hunting turkeys, and growing vegetables in his garden. He clears the vibe check. I'm yapping now, but all this to say he picked Il Gatto E La Volpe for dinner so I knew this food was gonna SMACK. We started with margherita pizzas for the table, arrancini, calamari, and a couple bottles of red wine picked by Uncle Dan. My Mom got the gnocchi bolognese, which I knew I would get 80% of as she eats like a mouse, so I went with the Florentine steak. I hate to be corny and say "everything was sensational," but everything was sensational so Imma leave it at that. My favorites were the gnocchi bolognese and arrancini though, as I had never seen gnocchi bolognese on a menu. It honestly should be a more common dish. I'm making a prediction that by 2029, gnocchi bolognese will be a standard item on all Italian menus. Service was great, vibes were up, and this was just a great place to enjoy some much needed family time over some red wine. These haters got me stressed. SHOUTOUT TO UNCLE DAN!
