We had a system installed by Revolve Solar, and a few years later they have gone out of business, our power invertor is not reporting and we now have the cost of our electric bill in addition to our solar bill each month. I've learned to be very very careful when choosing solar, I know I will be in the future! read more

Buyer beware, I chose Revolve Solar because of their good online reviews.After dealing with them I cannot believe they have any positive reviews. I will just list bullet points of my experience to save time. 1) Once the contract was signed I could never get the salesman to return my phone calls. 2) Every time I called the office the and asked a question the staff was rude I guess because I already signed a contract 3) The permit process was held up because they failed to provide an accurate drawing to the county. 4) They said they would tell me exactly was trees needed to be trimmed for maximum efficiency. The guy came u one time and gave us no specific details 5) The installers left loose parts on my roof. 6) They said we were doing 2 loans one for $18,530 financed at 2.99% for 144 months and another loan for $8370.00 zero interest for 18 months. The idea behind that is that your monthly payment is smaller because you are using you tax rebate to pay off the $8370 loan.Well again Revolve screwed up I have one loan for $25030 @ 2.99% for 144 months and $2913.03 at zero percent for 18 months. This costs me about $45 more a month for 12 years. Thanks a lot Revolve. This was just a quick synopsis of the major things that went wrong. I could go on for hours about all of the specific details but I just get upset. Have had a problem with my microinverters not reporting...Called two weeks ago and 3 times since...same story some one will call to schedule an appointment. Now none of my microinverter have reported for three days...Have no idea if I am producing energy or not...customer service??? read more

In late 2015 Revolve Solar signed my parents up for solar for their home in Palo Cedro, CA. It is important for you to know my parents are in their late 80's. The company sold them a package promising to supply their home with the correct amount of solar to off-set their PG & E bill to zero monthly. They are the "experts" and made the choices of what kind of system and where the system should be placed, etc. Note my parents have 5 acres and there are several appropriate sites with unobstructed sun. And note my parents completely trusted them. To begin, when they did the site work they did not clean up the construction site and left piles of concrete and miscellaneous debris around the site. When my husband, a retired contractor, saw this he contacted them and asked them to come back and clean it up. Later he wrote a letter to let them know how disgusted he was with their work. They also dug trenches, digging up watering system piping in several places, breaking the pipe and covering them up without fixing them. Later when we started watering water bubbled out of the ground in the trenches. My husband spent days repairing the damages they left. Now the best part! We discovered the panels were placed too close to each other and one shaded the other! Their solution: they lowered one panel a bit and this did not help. They still shade each other for a good part of the afternoon into the evening. They also strongly advised us to cut down a large old growth tree that is important to our privacy from the road. We did eventually prune it way back. Cutting down trees and lowering panels was totally unnecessary if they had done their job correctly and professionally. I became involved as my parents were not able to cope with the stress and disappointment. I can suffice it to say after a couple of months of back and forth with them they had a big meeting and decided what to do. We should cut down our trees and they would do nothing further to remedy their botched job. I sent them a certified letter asking for them to do the right thing and make our system what they promised and they never responded. We've never heard from them again. I would not recommend this company for anything!!! They are the worst company and the most expensive company I've ever dealt with. $55,000 was spent on this system and it doesn't work properly. Our last years NEM charges (difference between solar and power used from PGE) was approx.. $1,600 for the first year. I hope this is helpful so that you are not cheated and tricked into believing you are getting something you will not get from Revolve Solar. read more

I have never had to write such a scathing review of any company, and am saddened to have to do it now. But considering the large cost of our solar project and even larger disappointment this project has become, it has become apparent that I must tell my story so that no one else has to have the same problems. We began our project on October 30th, 2015. Initially, we made decisions about our set-up, amount of panels, my desire to have the well powered separate from the grid, and ground mount versus roof mount, and applied for financing with one company. We were called by our representative the next day and told that the financing company we had applied with would not be able to finance a ground mount, and we were steered towards another company that would. We were approved and began the technical layout of the array on November 2nd, 2015. I was told to expect a 45 to 60 day process, from permit to working system. After speaking with the engineer for our project, I realized the system we were designing was not going to fit our needs, and would need to be re-imagined. My service representative did say that this type of hybrid system was not something they did often, but at no time were we told that they had little to no experience installing this type of system. This involved an understandable delay as they re-structured the project, adjusted the final costs, and applied for permits. On January 5th, our finance account was charged $100.00. This was the first charge to be made on the account. I called Revolve to verify and check on our status, as we are now approximately 30 days into the project. I had not received any communication from Revolve about our project. All contact at this point had been initiated by me. I was told that, yes, our permits were submitted and that was the charge we were seeing. Another several weeks passed, along with several phone calls from myself to Revolve, with no answers as to when ground-breaking would happen. In February, we were charged for approximately half of the total cost of the project. No work had been done as of this time. March came and went, with still no work having been done. I was becoming frustrated. No one had answers as to why our project was not progressing. We are now at the beginning of April, 5 months into a 60 day project. I called and spoke with anyone who would talk to me. I became desperate and had a very angry conversation with our initial salesperson, who alluded to some of the internal problems Revolve was having, which was negatively impacting our project. It was not until this conversation that our project was actually moving forward, even though we had been paying on a loan with nothing to show for it. Revolve finally broke ground on our project on April 11, 2016. There were numerous delays. Everything from the solar panels themselves being unavailable (I later discovered that the panels they used were slightly less expensive than what we had initially ordered, but had no price adjustment), to the battery compliment being unavailable. We had 2ft x 4ft holes in the ground for weeks, with no solar array. Up until this time, only half of the cost has been charged to us, and we were making payments, even though we had no system in place. On April 19th, we were contacted by our service representative and told that Revolve was unable to charge the remaining amount because their charge window had closed; the finance company would not allow us to adjust that account and we were forced to open a second account to allow them to complete the charges. We did so, but with many reservations. We felt we were in too deep with our project to pull back. Our panels were finally installed on May 27th, 7 months into a 60 day project. We submitted all requested paperwork to Pacific Gas and Electric for a permit to operate on June 2nd. Today is August 31st and we are still waiting for our permit to operate from our utility company. We have 18 beautiful solar panels and 4 batteries finally installed, just in time for the sunniest part of the year. However, they sit idle, and unused by us. We are diligently paying two loans for a currently worthless solar system due to lack of knowledge, poor planning and business acumen, and complete lack of communication from Revolve Solar. This has been a costly and discouraging project, with no benefit to us as of this point. I feel that we have been robbed of the benefits solar power can offer and are paying for a worthless product. I cannot with good conscience recommend anyone use this company. read more

The first appointment I made with the Revolve Solar salesman got cancelled by him. The second appointment he showed up late. He then proceeded to tell me what I needed rather then asking what I wanted. His price was high. He tried to oversell the system. The salesmen was not able to give me a breakdown in costs. Three times he had to adjust his on the fly price as I clarified only what I needed, not what he wanted to sell me. I was very unimpressed from start to finish with this company. He was much more interested in making a quick sale then he was in making sure I got what I needed. I suspect the positive reviews are from family and friends. read more

We were very pleased with the entire process! From the original man who was handing out pamphlets in our neighborhood to the final sign-off, everyone was professional, courteous, prompt, great communication. Highly recommend Revolve Solar. In fact, our daughter and son-in-law followed suit and they did the same thing we did. read more

My problem with this company is that they send salesmen out to knock on doors to drum up business. Living in a rural neighborhood, I do not appreciate strangers walking up to my home, uninvited to solicit me for my business. If I wanted solar, I would call! And to that effect, I do not appreciate the salesmen pushing me into giving out my phone number and email address to receive junk mail about going solar. I also don't enjoy getting tricked into booking an appointment to speak with someone about setting up my home for solar. One second the young man is asking my name, and the next he's asking me what time I want to set my appointment at! Just shady, shady business tactics. I'm embarrassed that a local business would go this route to drum up business. read more

On 4/19/2016 we signed an agreement for Solar with Revolve in Redding,Ca. The salesman told us we needed a ballast mount for optimal performance. A month went by and we had not heard anything. I called was told it was with the county waiting for permits. A week later, I called again to check, thinking that I needed to get on the county- only to get a call back that Revolve needed another paper signed before it could be submitted for permits. Finally on 6/13 there was finally a permit issued and the system was installed. It was finalized on 6/28/2016. We got our permission to operate on 7/5/2016. We thought that everything was ok....until Sat 9/24/16 when I got home from work to find a certified letter that Soligent (a supplier for Revolve) had put a lien on our property for non payment. I called Revolve at 4:40pm on 9/24 and then burst into tears. You see, we are right in the middle of a refinance on our property and this messes it all up. When I did not get a call back by 5pm, I went online and posted a review. Shortly after, I received a much appreciated call from Tim Padden (CEO or Revolve). I was assured that this was a top priority and would be taken care of. I was assured that his attorneys would be on it. I was assured that Soligent had in fact been paid for their work here. This may be the case, but that was the last I had heard. We are hard working individuals with 2 disabled children (adults) in our home and we help take care of elderly parents. This is so upsetting and I do not want anyone to have to stress out and worry about their property that they have worked so hard for. I will update or remove once this issue to solved. In the meantime, I have a $30K loan that I am paying on for the Solar. I have a lien for over $11K on our property that is stopping our refinance. This is not OK. Update: The Company CEO has been promising me since 9/24/2016 that it would be taken care of. That it was top priority and that he was meeting with his attorney- then today it changed to his "guy" is meeting with an attorney here in Ca at 3 and he instructed his "guy" to call him as soon as the meeting is over (from the parking lot) and he would call me immediately. I emailed him at a little before 6pm Ca time and guess what my response was that he was at dinner and would call when he was done. It is now 7pm Ca time *9pm in Texas where he lives, and still no closure. I will be calling our attorney tomorrow as well as all of the local news outlets. DO NOT USE REVOLVE SOLAR!! THEY HAVE FILED BANKRUPTCY AND WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUES. JUST A BUNCH OF FALSE PROMISES AND LIES!!!! read more
